I had a very frustrating experience at the deli/hot food area today around 5:30 PM. When I arrived, an older employee was helping another customer, and there was someone else waiting in the hot food section. I stood in the sandwich/deli area for several minutes with no acknowledgment. Since no one came over, I walked to the hot food side where the employee was already assisting others. After finishing with those customers, the employee looked directly at me and then walked away to do other tasks without saying a word. No greeting, no "I'll be right with you," nothing. A second, younger employee came over and also failed to acknowledge me, even though I was clearly standing there waiting. Shortly after, another customer approached. I saw her arrive after I had already been waiting, yet she was helped before me without any explanation. I continued to stand there, still unacknowledged, until I finally had to speak up and say, "I've been standing here." At that point, I was told the other customer had been there before me, which was not accurate based on what I observed. The entire situation felt disorganized, dismissive, and honestly very rude--especially since I was standing there with my daughter the entire time. This could have easily been avoided with basic communication. A simple acknowledgment or a clear system for helping customers (like a number system) would go a long way. Instead, it felt like customers could be ignored and skipped with no accountability. Very disappointing experience. read more

Over the weekend I went to the grocery store to buy some Francis ford Coppola wine...couldn't find it so I asked a boomer who worked there for help. Naturally, he was still wearing a mask in 2026 but he should have been wearing a muzzle. He pointed it out in the Italian section & I remarked, "No wonder I couldn't find it, I was looking in the American section!" The boomer looked me dead in the eye & replied, "No, he hasn't managed to colonize Italy yet." Fucking INSUFFERABLE. Not EVERY exchange needs to include your political commentary. This has been my market for more than 25 years. Quality is great, even if pricey. But the deli is a nightmare. They have the slowest people in the store to help customers. They are so slow, rude and dismissive that not even the high quality of products they sell can balance the horrible service. I will go somewhere else if this ridiculous dis-service is not fixed. This is the slowest Pavilions I have ever have had the pleasure of patronizing. The prices are always about 15 percent higher than other stores. Some of the employees, however, are great. This review is intended to commend the act of kindness I witnessed. A cashier David went out of his way to help and comfort a woman in visible distress. No one else seemed to notice the woman's need. I can not say enough about Daniel in the bakery. He's so kind and helpful, and always in the best mood, no matter how hectic it is. I've ordered over 10 cakes from him and each one comes out beautifully and tastes delicious. I had the worse experience EVER at Pavilions in West Hills, CA. FRANCISCO in the meat department decided to show me how insulting and BAD a meat service person can be. I patiently waited for him to finish labeling a product and didn't disturb him. When he was done (though I could see non busy meat staff rough housing and playing in the back of the department), he walked toward me and decided to ignore me to handshake (dap) his fellow co worker. He then sighed in disgust, and scowled to come help me. Since I had already contently waited at least 5 minutes - on security store camera - I asked to buy a piece of fresh fish (since there was no frozen fish for my pet), I asked for a portion of $7.99 Cod. FRANCISCO - who is about 27 years old - snapped at me and said "this isn't Cod.". I said, "it's labeled Cod. I'd like 1 pound, please". He snapped, louder and said, "it's not Cod" and angrily showed me a piece of fish. Mind you, I only see a piece of fish I'm trying to purchase for my pet. I am a doctoral scholar in Public Health, I have a Master's degree in Nursing and I am a specialist in HIV Medicine. So a piece of fish is just that to me. To FRANCISCO, a rude boy who specializes in slicing meat for a living, it's a different type of fish. I asked, "Why is it labeled Cod, if it's not Cod?" He said, "I don't know. Maybe the morning staff mislabeled it." (It was about 6p.m.) Ok, resolved to just get a piece of fish and leave, I ask for a different piece of fish labeled Tilapia for $9.99. "Is that really Tilapia?" I asked. With hatred, disgust and rage in his eyes, FRANCISCO snapped, "ARE YOU GETTING SMART WITH ME?" I'm thinking, "Did he just ask me that, really?", so I said, "The other piece of fish was labeled Cod, so I want to know if this is really Tilapia before I buy it" (especially since I could have bought an entire package of frozen Tilapia for $9.99.) He then says, "You're getting smart with me, huh? Do you want to speak to my manager?!" he snapped. I'm angry now based on the wait time, the rude obvious way he ignored me, the terrible customer service and communication, then shoving a piece of fish at me, and asking me insulting and escalating questions... So I said, "Yes, get the manager!" He said again, "Do you want to speak to my manager?!" I said, much louder this time "Get the manager!" FRANCISCO got on the overhead speaker and called his manager loudly, three times, and the manager ran to the department. FRANCISCO attempted to explain his side of the incident to the manager. I told FRANCISCO, "No. You called the manager here for me. You can leave now, Francisco." With pure evil in his eyes, he stood and would not leave. His manager also told him to leave. FRANCISCO still did not leave when he was told by his supervisor. At that point, the store manager / supervisor suggested that he and I would leave and go to a different area of the store. I told the manager what occurred and suggested that he review the store camera footage. I told him, "He needs to be written up". The manager said, "I don't know what happened to him - He's one of my best staff". I reiterated, "He needs to learn proper customer service." At that point the manager offered me a free piece of fish, walked with me to see that there was no frozen fish and made the selection of Cod for me to take free of charge. I have lived in the area for nearly 30 years, even before the Pavilions market was built on Platt near Victory. NEVER have I had such a distasteful experience. I will be sure to let my neighbors, consumers and my social media following know about the extremely impolite interaction I had with the meat boy FRANCISCO and give my honest opinion about other nearby alternatives to make quality shopping choices, including Ralph's on Sherman Way near Shoup, Ralph's on Victory near Fallbrook, Ralph's in the Calabasas plaza, Trader Joes on Fallbrook near Vanowen, Island Pacific Supermarket and Seafood on Roscoe and Bristol Farms in Calabasas. read more

Parking has never been an issue for me, but the entire center is going through an upgrade now, so parking can be a little bit limited for the time being. I have yet to see any nefarious folks standing by this place. The inside is easy to navigate and clean. There are self check-out stands to make it move convenient. Overall, I prefer coming here vs. the Ralphs on Victory as that one is a little sketch. read more

I like coming to this Pavilions in the later evening when there's less foot traffic. Store is usually very clean and it feels like Vons' rich cousin who knows her own worth. Went to the hot foods section and ended up indulging in the Mac n cheese, some tenders and wings. I will say this: it was later in the evening, around 8pm, and the hot foods weren't looking their best. A bit dried out but it had been a long day under the heat lamps so I understand. But the crowning glory here was Oscar. Polite, patient, honest and kind. He was a pleasure to interact with and even flat out told me that if it were him, to skip out on the plain tenders because they weren't looking good. He was supervising the self check section which was quite busy and he was so nice and spent time talking with me. On July 31st around 8:30 PM, I approached the deli counter well before closing time. The employee Francisco from the meat department refused to help me at first, and I had to convince him to serve me, even though the section was still clearly open. When he finally agreed, he did not use proper deli wrapping -- instead, he just threw the food into a produce bag, which is completely unprofessional and unhygienic for deli items. I submitted a formal complaint through Albertsons' customer service, but never received a response. This kind of service, combined with being ignored afterward, shows a clear lack of professionalism and accountability. I expected better from Pavilions. read more

I so dislike shopping at this store. Everytime I go there I come home with an annoyance. The prices are ridiculously overpriced. The inconvenient app is a nuisance. Why don't you just lower the prices and save the customer and cashier the time and trouble. The annoyance today was the shredded cheese cheese for $1.97. Great, right? But scanning the coupon at the cheese area and having the cashier show and do it with me on my app- didn't prove successful. Happily no one was waiting behind me, because it was time consuming. When I returned home the sale price was not on my register tape. Annoying. I avoid this place when I can and prefer Trader Joes, but they don't have the same In addition the woman in customer service is nasty and worthless. She is always cranky, never welcoming, nor showing a smile. It seems as if she hates customers and avoids dealing with them at any cost because she is always frantic and busy...yet, I see her constantly chatting with cashiers. Maybe she hates her job, but she is a poor representation for Pavillions. On the positive side, Lawrence and Mike who I've dealt with in customer service are WONDERFUL. Helpful and pleasant. Their bakery items are very good. Specially cakes. I often stop here m. Problem is that if you come to bakery section late afternoon or later , there is no one behind the counter. You wait around or ask people to get someone to help you. My yesterday's experience was worst yet. No one was behind the counter as usual. I asked a guy wearing an apron as if he was a bakery guy , he said let me find someone for you rather crankily , but he disappeared. Then I asked another person , he said I will page someone when I get back and disappeared. Then I saw someone at the back of bakery and waved at him, he came up to the counter , just to tell me that he doesn't work the counter and I should go and talk to the manager. I did talk to the manager and she is very nice , immediately sent some with me to assist. That person she sent wasn't happy because she wanted to go on a break , nevertheless she helped me and I was able to get a cake in just over 30 minutes. As I said bakery items here are really good and I may put up with this again because of that (there are far worst things happening around the world , inconvenience in buying a cake hardly merits my compliant) . But I wish the management of the store create an environment where employees are happy to assist rather then disappear. read more

The checker named Stacy told me to I should be putting one of these down referring to the dividers that separate the customers groceries. Just common sense. I asked her excuse me. Stacy told me his common sense. I couldn't believe she told me that. I told the manager, however the manager was so overwhelmed with customers. I don't think she cared. I've tried so hard to give Pavilions West Hills a chance but their quality control is terrible. On several occasions, I've come back home with food that was spoiled despite it being before the expiration date. Today, I purchased filet mignon from behind the counter, got home, and realized it was spoiled. It had a strong foul odor. On another occasion, I purchase bread (that was before the expiration date), opened it the same day, and found mold. On yet another occasion, I purchased baby formula (which is kept behind a locked cabinet), got home and found the can was already open. The list goes on, this is only to name a few. Pavilions overcharges but can't guarantee good quality products. The only good thing about this place is the staff. Terrible, terrible, terrible quality products. I'll be taking my money elsewhere. read more

Going to start my review by clarifying that this review has nothing to do with the $.90 that I was charged for nine bags. The reason I am taking the time to write a review on a market is because I have lived in West Hills most of my life and I don't like the way this market is going downhill. I had a ton of groceries and they only had one cashier, the line was forming, so the guy that was helping bag went and opened another register, which was great. However, they had no one helping the register I was at with the bagging, therefore I went ahead and bagged the nine grocery bags. When I'm ready the cashier asks me how many bags? OK the point here is they do not hire enough people to run that market efficiently and I am charged for the bags? As I said before it has nothing to with the $.90, it has to do with how awful the service is. And the worst part was, I did not even get a thank you. read more

For the past several months, I've been coming in to use the Wi-Fi and eat my fave deli food. The turkey pinwheels with the ranch & honey mustard sauce. I'm in there at least weekly, sometimes more. So; just now I see that they have the pinwheels , but once again- no sauce. So I ask the deli guy; can you please check in back (?) do you know why it's been out of stock for so long(?) etc. the other deli guy comes out and says to me- "we don't have any- HAVENT for awhile now".... I tell him, yeah, this guy here is checking in back for me. He then rudely as "f" says to me; "well, he's new, we don't have any!" WHY so RUDE?!!! This is an expensive store; I spend a lot of $$ and time in here - I mean; I'm sure this seems petty, but Damn. There is a third guy that works here who is EXTREMELY NICE ...... They have really yummy, high-quality baked goods, such as donuts and desserts. However, the pricing is unfathomably high. A lady in front of me in line was getting a bag of cherries that was supposedly 2 1/2 pounds and they told her it was just over $40 and with the discount it came to $38. If money is not a problem for you, I understand that convenience and cleanliness and dealing with decent people is worth it, but just how worth it when there are many other stores with similar experiences and qualities for significantly less cost. read more

This location is wonderful, clean, and has friendly staff. There is a Starbucks inside and the parking lot has plenty of parking. The shelves are always full, and the bakery has a wonderful selection of delicious pastries. They have delicious croissants most mornings but usually run out quickly. read more

The West Hills location is a beautiful store and well kept by those whose positions it is to keep all the departments maintained. Fresh baked goods and premade nearly everything really help for every occasion. We know we can find nearly everything we would need to create meals and cater to specific events. Unfortunately the customer service is hit or miss. Usually miss. Management seems to not care. The cashiers appear to be unhappy and misinformed. I had asked what the best time to come to avoid crowds and I was guided to early morning. 7:00 is when cashiers arrive so you can actually cart shop to not fuss with a 100 items on self check out. Today I arrived around 7:00. The store was buzzing with workers in the departments working hard. Many team leaders walking around, None of them spoke to me or acknowledged me. I smiled at several in black nothing, one gentleman managed to find himself nearly everywhere I went. Not a single word or gesture of kindness. 7:30 half way through shopping still no one up front helping full cart shoppers. I make my selection in the deli, finally acknowledged by a young woman asking if I required help with the boars head products. She was gracious and kind. Once I realized that there was not going to be anyone available to help and self check out was the only option I stopped shopping. Went to self check out, still there were no cashiers visible anywhere. Several of us were implementing self check out, when a human did appear and I inquired about cashiers, she informed me that it was 7:30 when cashiers arrive and then hesitated because it was near 7:45. She apologized and stated it may be 8:00. A team manager loudly announced her return from where ever she may have been. Another woman immediately began to engage why there were no cashiers and at that point the manager said that she could check her out, but she was already using self checkout it didn't make sense. Then the manager disappeared so really she had no intention of checking anyone out then once again, the manager came back as I was leaving ( with my cart half of what I originally had intended to purchase) , and she still had that same sour look on her face Avoided eye contact immediately, and did not acknowledge my existence or my smile. It's very sad that such a beautiful store has this lingering unhappy vibe. Perhaps it was just another bad day for the cashiers upfront but at this point is every day a bad day? read more
