Although they aren't currently accepting online orders, it is easy to call in an order and pick up at the convenient drive up window. My favorite pizza is the Hawaiian Volcano. It has just the right amount of toppings and cheese, and the barbecue sauce is excellent. This pizza makes great leftovers, warm or cold. I always order enough pizza to ensure leftovers. read more

Pizza is good every time we go but I do not recommend the Ham and Provolone sandwich for the price. Waitress was supposed to go get him another one while we decided what we were going to order. She never came back. After approx. 25 minutes we said screw this. Went to the bar to see if we could pay so we could leave. Bartender had to go look for our waitress. The staff were all dressed like slobs. Tables not bussed, 10-15 minute wait on a Friday afternoon with pretty much an empty restaurant. The ONLY positive was the waitress did not charge us for our drinks. Disappointing because the vibe seemed great walking in... nice and cool, clean, plenty of seating, good decor, etc. I was extremely disappointed in Gelsosomo's pizza, as I had heard it was pretty good. What a letdown. It seemed like there was very little cheese on, the sauce had a somewhat sour taste to it ... and to boot, the service was not great. I had to remind the waitress 3 times for my drink. And, it wasn't even busy when I was there (just a handful of people scattered). My daughter and three grandsons love Gelsosomo's pizza. We have had the pizza from the Portage, IN and St Joe, MI locations as well. I personally do not like the sweet sauce and the slightly high prices, but there are other things I do like about this place. Service has always been fast and courteous. I normally call in my order, or I pick it up myself because a disabled stepmom and three young boys can make eating out a challenge. I like how this place has a drive-through for take out orders. I also like how the kitchen staff is trained for accuracy and speed. Pizzas have always been delivered faster than told over the phone. This new location in CP is spacious. I like how the bar area is separated from the restaurant, giving it a more intimate feeling. It also has a separate small room with arcade games, perfect to send the little kids to when out dining. My grandsons love the pepperoni pizza and I just go along with them, but next time I am in the area, will try one of their pasta dishes. read more

We ordered a pizza for dinner and frosted breadsticks for dessert. The pizza was decent, greasy with a lot of cheese. I did not feel well after eating it. I was totally unimpressed with the frosted breadsticks, which ended up being some reheated breadsticks with a packet of icing (see picture). For $8 I expected something a little different. Gelsosomo's is THE place to eat piazza in Crown Point! I personally prefer the bar area to enjoy my pizza. It feels more cozy in there. Plus, I usually enjoy the bar area more at just about every restaurant. The staff there is always super friendly, down to earth, good people. Peter, the owner, always makes sure to stop by the table to make sure everything is good. The pizza is a thin crispy crust with a sweet sauce. The cheese and toppings are always plentiful. On Friday's, they offer beer specials too! $2 for a pint of Miller Lite, Coors Light or Yuengling. $3 for a tall. Pizza and beer at the price on a Friday night? Sign me up!!! Service is above and beyond. Friendly and attentive. We had pizza party the kids love it was so much fun. The tour and making their own pizza. A blast. They offered a buffet with pizza and some salad and cottage cheese and pudding and pineapple. My kid at the salad and pineapple. We had some appetizers. They are ok the nachos didn't have enough cheese for is so we got some extra. That was better. The staff was so good and helpful. My son had a burger it was delicious. He at the leftover today. What a disaster. The people/kids running the kitchen and the pick up window had no idea what they were doing. Get there on time to pick up pizza and pasta and bread. Forgot the pasta. Told us to pull around and park, but the place they told us to wait made it a tight squeeze for others in the pickup line. After fifteen minutes and getting cussed out by other patrons, the food still wasn't ready. More waiting. Asked for a manager and a refund. Someone in an apron came out and gave us a voided receipt. I live closer to Gelsosomos in Schererville but the drive to crown point is worth it!! Pizza is great we usually have a group with us when we go and order a couple different pizzas and every one we've tried the last couple of times has been amazing! On Wednesdays they also have a pizza buffet and it is amazing! They constantly bring out new pizzas and keep it fresh pizza after pizza coming out. It is affordable also I believe around $13 for the buffet and allows for you to try the other pizzas and is more affordable because the pizzas here are at a bit pricey. Lastly the owner (I think) is also walking around when we are there and making sure everyone is satisfied which is great to see because not often do you see an owner of a restaurant doing that. read more
