I came here with some friends on a late afternoon Sunday. We all went in with no expectations just that we wanted to try our hand at making something. The shop is located right next to the Hello Kitty cafe. We arrived at our appointment time and checked in. We browsed the store for a little while. There are some premade jewelry for sale as well as a bunch of cute charms to make a necklace or other accessories. We went to the left side wall to choose the stone we wanted to work with. There's a huge variety of different stones in various shapes and sizes. They're all quite thin and small but some are quite expensive so make sure you check the price tag on the back! From there, we were all seated and listened to a short presentation on the company, what we'll be doing, and how the cost works. It can be a little confusing if you're not familiar with the parts/names on the jewelry. If you're trying not to spend over a certain amount, be sure to ask a lot of questions on if something costs extra or not because it most likely will. The girl who helped us was very nice and tried her best to help us but she was helping six of us so she was spread pretty thin. The process allows you to be a part of the jewelry making process as much as possible but you'll mainly doing the simple things like applying a clear balm on the silver-I can't remember the name of it but it looks like petroleum jelly, using a mallet to size the ring, polishing, and using the torch while supervised. I was really happy with how my ring turned out and it was a fun experience but it was a long afternoon since we were in a group and it got quite costly at the end. I'm glad I tried it out, but I'm not sure I'd go back.

Made an appointment to make charms here as I received a gift card. Michelle helped us out and she was really helpful! I got a silver necklace with 5 charms, and my husband got a silver bracelet (with no charms lol). Overall the process was pretty fast and easy (took about 20 minutes from start to finish). They also welded it for an extra $5 after to keep the charms sturdy on the necklace. Overall, I loved how the charms turned out! They have lots of options for charms and chains. The only downside is that it's really expensive. For my necklace plus husband's bracelet (which had no charms), it turned out to be almost $200 including the whole process. I probably wouldn't come back because of how expensive it is but it was overall a fun experience. It's located inside Irvine spectrum.

I really enjoyed our silver smith session with Zoey! Gem Studio is a fun, crafty activity for a girls or date night. I was a bit intimidated at first but Zoey made it so easy and made sure our rings were to our liking! You first pick what you want to make (rings, necklaces, pendants etc.), then your gem, bands and details. Depending on what you want customized it's going to cost extra. You can also bring your own gems but they have a good assortment to choose from. Our session took about 3 hours. During the session we got to shape our band, use a metal torch and polish our rings. It's located at the Irvine Spectrum near the ferris wheel. It's such a random location but at least you can walk around and there are plenty of different eateries to choose from before or after your session! I will say, it is a bit pricey and you will be spending at least $100 but you are paying for the customization!

I had such a great experience here doing a silversmithing workshop! I was able to text or call and set up an appointment and it was super easy. I ended up being the only one who booked for the morning so it was a super personalized class. I picked out my stone and what I wanted to make and they even have extra detailing if you would like it! The shop is just very customized to you. I made the setting for the stone and got to do lots of the steps and the staff would take care of the more difficult parts. I liked how interactive it was and I came out with a beautiful finished product ( I made a necklace).

Bracelet with scratches and rough edges around the stone

Not worth the money at all. The only thing you do is torch a few things and glue otherwise they do most of the work. My bracelet that was $250 looked like something you would buy for $20. It moves so slow and you do a lot of just sitting around. The girl finished polishing my bracelet and handed it back scratched. She helped push the metal down around the stone and it is rough and looks terrible. I'm sorry I just walked out of there spending $500 and mine and my daughter's bracelet and was super dissatisfied.

We truly couldn't be happier with the entire process or with how beautiful our rings turned out. The experience was so special and will always be a meaningful memory for us. Cristina had already been in touch with my fiancé beforehand, so when we arrived she had curated a selection of diamonds, ring styles, and settings she knew I might love. She walked us through everything with so much care, from explaining GIA certification and clarity to showing us real diamonds under the light so we could truly see their brilliance. Unlike other places we visited, Liberty Diamonds actually let us compare real and lab diamonds side by side, which made such a difference. Cristina also guided us through the custom design process, explaining setting heights, diamond shapes, and every detail that would make the ring uniquely mine. They even sent my fiancé a 3D rendering of the design so he could visualize exactly what the final piece would look like. I left our appointment feeling completely confident that we were in the best hands! Fast-forward to the proposal and I was speechless. My ring is everything I dreamed of and more. The sparkle, the cut, the craftsmanship... it's truly stunning! Cristina and Troy did an exceptional job bringing my dream ring to life. I couldn't recommend Liberty Diamonds more for anyone looking for a thoughtful, transparent, and genuinely magical ring-buying experience.

He visited several jewelers across OC, from large retailers to family owned stores and even some that were recommended by other friends/family but none compared to the genuine care and honest customer service he received from Kathy and Jenny here! I came with my fiancé on his first visit here to get sized and choose some shapes that I preferred. Kathy patiently walked us through sizing and explored different shapes with zero pressure and so much patience. We loved how relatable she was and how natural and genuine our convos went! When he returned on his own, Jenny took her time to educate him fully and showcased her expertise (being in the business for 30+ years) and made sure he truly understood every detail, not just the 4 C's, but things other stores never even mentioned so he could feel confident making such an important decision. They actually encouraged him to even take his time and check out other places to make sure he was confident in his decision. This kind of customer care made all the difference! I didn't see the ring until the proposal, and it was absolutely perfect! But what makes it even more meaningful is knowing how much thought, care, and intention went into choosing it and how much of that came from the guidance he received there. I really can't thank both Jenny and Kathy enough for making his experience so smooth and seamless! If you're starting your ring journey and feel overwhelmed, go to South Coast Jewelers. They don't just sell you a ring, they make you feel confident, excited, and taken care of which makes this kind of experience so much more priceless.

He felt judged right away, as if they didn't really want him as a customer. He was genuinely interested in finding a ring and doing business with a local jeweler, but it felt like he was underestimated from the start, which was disappointing. What made it more upsetting was that this is an Asian-owned establishment, yet the environment felt very judgmental and uninviting. During that first visit, they offered to email him the paperwork with ring details and sizing information--but we never received anything. At that point, we were still actively shopping around. When I later went back with him, the staff seemed slightly friendlier once I was there (I'm Asian), but the overall vibe was still the same--very cold and not particularly interested in helping us or earning our business. Again, we asked for follow-up emails, including the GIA paperwork and details we discussed in person, and once again, nothing was ever sent. In the end, we decided to skip this jeweler altogether and take our business elsewhere. Honestly, I'm glad we did. A big purchase like an engagement ring should feel exciting and welcoming, and unfortunately, that just wasn't the experience here
