These people are worse that the typical used car sales men. I'm a female and I always get taken advantage of. They had 4 or 5 people working with me and it was like a bait and switch that confused the situation and I paid way more for the vehicle I bought. There is in particular one terrible little fast talking man that was extremely rude. When my mother finally told me she never received the check for her trade in I called and his responses were horrendous! They totally miss informed us of the situation because it was 2 separate transactions, I bought the car she sold hers. My mom doesn't have much money but really needed a newer vehicle. I feel like we have both been so violated. I know that man and the people who were involved and dishonest will get to what's coming to them. God will see to that. I bet that man has already had many sleepless nights ripping of an 80 yr old lady and a senior citizen. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GEN X MOTORS! They are out of Melbourne but do pop ups in large parking lots all over Florida and possibly in other states. I would rate way below ZERO if that was an option. read more

They misrepresented & lied about the condition of a car that I purchased to be shipped cross country. The car arrived with body damage, pealing window tint needing replacement, stained headliner, bad rear differential, bad wheel bearings, bad front and rear sway bars, bad bushings, bad sway bar links, bad ABS Dialogue Sensor and a steering wheel with scuff marks that were hidden with dye. I was promised I could return the car if I was not satisfied with the condition and the owner refused to honor this or take any responsibility for these issues. These guys make their cars look great on the outside -- but don't be fooled. They know how to hide serious issues and manipulate the check engine codes to make vehicles seem problem-free. I bought a car from them a while ago. Before purchasing, they told me the motor mounts were bad but offered to fix them before the sale. Once they did, I went ahead and bought the car. About two weeks later, the car started shaking again. I checked the motor mounts myself, and they looked perfectly fine. Later, I found out the real problem was a blown head gasket -- that's why the car was shaking in the first place. When I spoke to a trusted mechanic, he told me the check engine light never came on because the dealership likely altered or cleared the codes illegally to hide the issue. I called the dealership, explained the situation, and even told them I was willing to pay for the repair -- they promised to call me back, but never did. To make matters worse, the very first paper they had me sign was a "Sold As Is" agreement, which limited any chance of recourse. I also found it strange that, despite my perfect credit, they insisted I needed a co-signer -- something I haven't needed in years. I learned my lesson: this dealership is not honest. They'll smile, polish the car, and make promises -- but once you drive off the lot, you're on your own. Be careful before buying from them. read more

Much like the gentleman who received the Monopoly game ad, we received a mailer with a matching game stating if you match 6 diamonds across you win $1000. SCAM Just to get you to give your information & to get you there. Why would I ever trust a company who so obviously deceives & do you really think this is a good marketing technique? Yes we showed up to /see/ if it was real or a scam, but we did not stay buy into the spiel about buying or selling. This is obviously not a place that conducts business honestly. read more

Sold me a 2006 Ford Ranger for too much money. I bought the extended warranty and sure enough, the engine started misfiring a cylinder. You could visibly see the engine almost stall while idling then my brother verified it with a computer diagnostic. I brought it to Gen-X and the "mechanic" told me there is nothing wrong with the engine. I stood there with him for 45 seconds until it almost stalled. I asked him if the computer was necessary to know there was something wrong. He said yes. Then sent me to island lincoln ford to see what they say. I spent another grand and they actually made the issue WORSE. To Hell with all of them. You won't catch me buying from a used car dealer again. read more

A broken windshield, a broken side seat, 2 broken air vents that didn't work, a dent in the driver door, a detached roof rack on the driver side, a 5 inch long piece of missing chrome paint on the mirror and multiple scratches. Oh and they advertise delivering the vehicle to you, they deliver your $50k+ vehicle COMPLETELY covered in bugs and dirty and with no gas in it. I had to spend $50 right off the bat to get the car i just bought cleaned before i could show my it to my wife. They also tired to say there was GRAY area in the damage, It literally never left my driveway or got turned on after they delivered it and i took all the pictures of the damage in my driveway, so no, nice try. THEN they tried to tell me to file a Fraudulent claim under my insurance to cover the windshield "since they were going to cover the rest". So not only now has it been a month with NOTHING repaired and almost no communication but they are now trying to get my to commit insurance fraud to cover the damaged vehicle they sold me. read more

I signed a contract to have Gen-X Motors sell my 2020 Tesla on consignment in January 2023. Two sales associates, John and Eric were great to meet with, and made me feel comfortable with the establishment. However....it ends there. The administration of this business is totally unprofessional and inaccessible. When they informed me that they had a buyer for my car, I was advised that the transaction would occur the following week. Two days before the transaction however - my Tesla app showed my 2020 Y being driven throughout Melbourne (Old Town, Melbourne International Airport, 192) and ending up in a parking garage near the Indian River - apparently at a condo. When I called Gen-X Motors a manager told me "they were prepping my car for sale" (translation: they had given it to the prospective buyer to drive 2 days before sale was finalized - who, by the way - charged my car at a Tesla station on my Tesla account. To his credit he did offer to pay me back at the time of closing). OK, small town business....I let it slide since no accident or apparent damage had occurred. Subsequently, on the day of closing I asked a Gen-X employee about transfer of funds to my lien holder, and was told "it's a wire transfer and should take about 24 hours". I was given a check for my balance due, with a check stub indicating a balance for lien payoff, but no documentation of actual payment. I returned to Gen-X 3 days later to query, and was told by the finance woman "Oh, I haven't sent it yet, I will later today." I was firm, but polite - and stated I would wait there until she did so, as I was not going to leave without proof of funds transfer in my hand. She proceeded to do some typing and printed out a paper documenting that the funds had been sent to a title transfer company. I waited a few more days - no activity on my loan account noted. I called the title transfer company - and over a series of phone calls informed me that they had not done business with Gen-X Motors in many months, and they advised that I contact an attorney. The following Saturday I returned to Gen-X Motors at 10 am opening, and asked to speak with the owner. I was told that he was not there, and they would not attempt to reach him for me. I was told "it is a 10 day payoff, and your money is on the way" - and I was also told to "leave" the premises immediately, and that I had "upset" their finance person (as I said, I was firm but polite during that interaction - we're talking about my $37,000 loan payoff). The payment was in fact credited by the following Wednesday. An honorable business would have been up front about the true nature of the transfer and provided accurate documentation at the time of sale. They also wouldn't have allowed the buyer to take possession two days early, or at least asked my permission first. Seller beware!! read more

Waste of time. Lack of communication. Spent 4 days waiting to find out about the car I test drove only to hear nothing back. And got excuses when I called or went in to ask. I have dealt with Raul and his great employees at Gen-X Motors since 2005. I bought 4 cars and had friends and family buy cars from them through out the years. Just yesterday, I got my Wife 2012 Mercedes Benz GLK 350 for Christmas with low miles at a great value. They honor their word and make transactions quick and easy. Getting financing done thru them at 2.99 % was an extra bonus. I own a business in Merritt Island, so I enjoy doing business with honest people like Raul.
