You just place the order yourself, pay and pick it up from the counter. They only use to-go containers there but they're all compostable and pretty much everything they use is recyclable too. When you sit there to enjoy lunch, there's a nice conversational buzz going on there and the place is very well lit, gives a very nice and enjoyable ambiance there. As for the food, it's decent but could be better. I just had a Veggie/Wonton/Tofu Udon soup, noodles were ok but the soup was a bit bland and some of the veggies could've been cleaned better or not been in the soup at all. Good thing there's hoisin and sriracha to add more flavor to the soup. Their chicken marsala was pretty good too but the sauce didn't match the chicken, there could've been more flavor soaked in to the chicken. Service is quick and not much interaction with the staff so I won't know much about that. The coffee there is pretty good but the caramel macchiato was super sweet. I'll definitely ask for less caramel next time. Barista there were very friendly and quick with service, A+ for them on that. Final Thoughts: Will definitely be back here to try other things but not when it's a lunch rush since it'll be harder to find a seat.

Even though it is catered by Cafe Bon Appetit, the food seems to be of higher quality than the other cafeterias. There is more Asian influence in the food choices here, which explains why the food is better. Asian food is good for the soul and body. Not bias at all... :P My favorites are Indian food, desserts on Fridays at Savor kiosk, steak skewers (sometimes), kombocha on tap, some of the noodle soups and acai bowl. :D

Public restrooms on ground floor were sparkling clean. Great first impression. 5/5 food selections. Bar area was very cozy with gorgeous views all around. 3.7-4/5 for food flavors/taste. They actually have people wiping down chairs/tables and clearing tables for you. You can order at the cafe place or the Omakase World Market where I ordered at kiosk and waited for my order number. Grab your own condiments. Food was ready fast. Very organized. I drank the organic coconut water $4, had the $6 big chocolate walnut cookie, and $18 chicken sandwich. I think the chicken sandwich was overpriced even when it was listed as $16. Portion size was smaller than expected for this price. It tasted ok, but I've had much better elsewhere. The cool thing about the place is plenty of beautiful spots to sit. Menu variety included pizzas, dumplings, and other sandwich items. Convenient for working class folks around here. There's also beautiful couches and tables by the bar area which also included a pool table, great for relaxation in back. You can see tall buildings/landscape all around. Good place for meetups/work/study/break time. Management has really invested in the place. I hope they open more food places inside. It's a hidden gem for sure. No, they don't open on weekends.

The sliders had this amazing sauce and the patty was cooked perfectly. The crispy broccoli was good but was a slightly bit oily. Wish it was cooked in an air fryer instead. The ambience was sooooo nice. Everything is spacious and makes you feel like you can relax and get somethings done. It's quiet and the bathrooms are clean. The service was good. You order at the bar, and everyone is super friendly and kind. There's also pool and mini basketball arcade games and things like that to enjoy!

Love that there were many food options; there was something for everyone in my group, though maybe I didn't choose the best. From my Roasted chicken - skin and ahi verde sauce were great. We went to the grill, where you order at the register. Brussels Sprouts: 5/5. I really loved the charred crispiness they were able to achieve on this. The balsamic and sesame seeds really tie it together. Fried chicken sandwich: 4/5. It was a panko crusted chicken, which I found to be good, but was wishing it was buttermilk fried to get the airy crispiness. The bread and condiments inside complimented the sandwich well! The salad was okay.. the dressing was very vinegar heavy. F&L Burger: 4/5. I was pleasantly surprised by this burger. It was good but I found it strange that the special sauce was served on the side. I also thought the bread was well toasted. I ordered well done because my bf said the medium is sometimes too rare, but it was still pink inside for being well done. I actually preferred it like this, but just be aware the cook in the patty may be inconsistent. I subbed sweet potato fries, and they were delicious! I really enjoyed their crispiness. Overall, great experience. I liked the ambiance and food! I'll be back again soon! :)

We asked what he would recommend... he said the Chicken Fried Steak ... hands down. So we both order that. Chicken fried steak, 2 eggs, hashbrowns and 2 slices of toast $20.00 OK first of all the chicken fried steak came out crispy and wonderfully deep fried, it was smothered in country gravy (I think it was sausage). Great flavor... brought back memories of me traveling in the South. The eggs were perfectly... I threw it on top of the crispy hashbrowns (its shredded potatoes, not chunks). i added a little Chula and broke the yolks to cover the potatoes. There is a single, gender neutral bathroom at the back. Its clean, well stocked and spacious. The only negative was the no touch paper dispense was out of order and they had towels in plastic box on the sink counter.

Our food arrived quickly, which we really appreciated. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our son loved his burger, and our daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese sandwich with added bacon and lettuce. She wasn't a fan of her boba drink, but that was probably just a matter of choosing the wrong flavor. I really enjoyed my hummus and chicken dish. The only small issue was that I had asked for no spicy salsa, but it was still added. It wasn't a big deal, but I hope they'll pay a little closer attention to special requests in the future. We came about an hour before closing and ordered a few items, including the SOB cheeseburger, a fish taco, and two chicken tacos. 1. The cheeseburger was a very standard cheeseburger, nothing amazing but decently tasty. I don't love the shredded iceberg lettuce they used. 2. Seasoned fries were okay, but also tasted like they'd been sitting out vs being freshly fried. 3. The chicken tacos had huge pieces of chicken vs the cubes I was expecting. The flavor was surprising but not bad, almost like a mediterranean flavor rather than mexican. The tortillas they used tasted like they were sitting out and reheated as they seemed stale or dried out? Overall acceptable. 4. The fish taco was the most depressing thing. I subbed a corn tortilla and it was rock hard and cracked into pieces, so pretty inedible with the fish. I was expecting a soft corn tortilla. The piece of fish itself was tiny. I can't believe I paid $8 for this! I'd much rather go to California Fish Grill and have their fish taco which is decked out and only $5. Overall this would be a last choice if nothing else was open, since they close at 10pm.

Be it an abandoned stray kitten or the homeless child in need of dry socks. Okay, maybe I'm being overly dramatic here, but my point is I fly by the code of Sir Robin Hood;) So what does me hanging around merry men have to do with a Cafe at a College? Culinary Cafeteria can be found on the campus of City College of San Francisco. It's easy to find just head to the cafeteria and you'll find it nestled there. Don't expect a French Café or anything like that. Do expect a cafeteria - sometimes with restaurant level food - serving to students and the public alike. There's a breakfast and lunch menu (not sure on dinner). The breakfast tends to be the basics like Omelette Combo, French Toast, Waffles, Scrambled Eggs combo, Bagels, Muffins, Pastries, Fruit cups, Hot Cereal, etc. The lunch is the Entrée of the day, usually some sort of Pasta, Hamburgers, Salads, etc. Fountain drinks and Coffee beverages offered too. Dessert options are day to day. On my latest visit I ordered the Entrée of the day which was Beef Stew. I chose cooked Spinach and Garlic Mashed Potatoes as my sides. I wasn't exactly blown away by my choice, nonetheless I ate every morsel on my Melamine plate lol. I've been here at least a dozen times over the years and never had any major complaints. Besides where can you get an Omelette combo for under $7? In the end, I wouldn't go out of my way to get to Culinary Cafeteria, but if you're in the Ingleside District by all means give it a try. Don't expect fancy, do expect a decent hot meal at a bargain price! So what's up w/ my Robin Hood mantra? The Culinary Cafeteria supports the Culinary program of City College of San Francisco. I might not be robbing from the Queens, but hey I feel good helping the community. It's all about giving back...

Not to mention, this brings the price down and offers great value for students, staff, and others. I wasn't disappointed one bit. Today's special was pork loin with tarragon green beans and mashed potato. It was delicious and packed with flavor. In addition, a side of baguette comes with the meal. The bread was SO.DAMN.GOOD. It reminded me of something that you would buy at Panera's. Would I come back again? I say YASSSSS! It's only $8 for a home cooked meal that would probably cost you $12 elsewhere.
