Decades later, it hasn't lost an ounce of its charm, and I truly can't recommend it enough. Don't let the classic cafeteria-style setup fool you; the moment you reach the counter, you're greeted by an amazing, welcoming staff and a vast spread of delicious comfort food. My absolute go-to is the hot turkey dinner, it's like having Thanksgiving year-round with all the fixings. My sister usually opts for the hot roast beef sandwich (or dinner plate), which is just as incredible. To top it all off, they have a fantastic bar and a great outdoor patio. A total classic that never disappoints! Highly recommend

Parking was fairly easy to find, we immediately found a spot on a Saturday afternoon. They operate cafeteria style basically. You get in line, you order what you want from the carvery, and pay. We stood off to the side to study the menu before hopping in line as it was our first time. I ordered the roast turkey sandwich on dutch crunch bread, which they dipped in jus for me. They also asked if I had a preference for white or dark meat, which was very nice. I chose a mix. After I opted for all the toppings, the carver complimented my sandwich choices. So I knew I was in for a good meal! My boyfriend opted for a half roast turkey sandwich on white bread, mac and cheese, and the soup of the day. We found a table pretty easily and I liked the assortment of mustard at the table. Decor was very charming and old fashioned, but I liked it! Workers were bussing tables around us and working very hard. We're both looking forward to our next visit, very enjoyable experience! Service was great from start to finish!

STARS -Reasonable prices for the Peninsula (e.g. $10 for Korean Beef Bowl) -Compostable takeout boxes and utensils -Friendly cashier/owner and cooks are not overly nice but professional and respectful -Lots of tables and chairs -Lots of options for cold and hot food -Korean beef bowl is tasty with meat, rice, picked veggies and fresh veggies STAIRS -wish portions were bigger...maybe add a a cup of soup or something else hearty...still felt hungry after...maybe I have a ice average appetite haha TIPS -Inside Hall of Justice building where many people go for courts and jury duty -Need to pass security and, on the right side, then take stairs or elevators down one floor -Parking is tough in this area. There is a garage parking you can pay or local metered parking. There might be free limited time parking if you walk 8-10 minutes out

The location is perhaps the most convenient you'll ever get if you work at EA, so there are no complaints here. There are plenty of stations in this cafeteria (the largest on the EA Redwood Shores campus). As for the hot food, there are stations that remain the same each day (burgers, Mexican, pizza, etc.) -- and there's one station that has two consistently changing meals. In my experience, the rotating station is usually a hit or miss. They typically don't put enough meat in for me, but in my experience, you can ask for more of anything and they'll go ahead and put more in for you... So don't be afraid to personalize your order! The salad bar is by far my favorite place on campus besides my own cubicle. It has two large sides and opens half an hour earlier than the other stations, at 11am. They have a number of leafy vegetables (including KALE!), along with avocado, breadsticks, tofu, chicken, and all the veggies you could ever ask for. They charge you by weight, and my salads never end up being too expensive ($6-9). The soup is usually good, too, with two rotating soup selections. They do always serve chili as their third option (alternating between vegetarian and beef). The staff at Commons Cafe are all incredibly nice and friendly. Whenever I order hot food from one of the stations, they're always very attentive to any details I ask for in my order. I asked for no onions in my meal one day, and they gave it to me with onions. I was going to just take it anyways, but when the chef saw the look on my face he asked what was wrong and insisted on cooking it again for me. Overall, I'm satisfied with my experience, but would love more consistency in the quality of the rotating hot food station. I've only been working here for a few months, and can see myself getting tired of the food after a while.

You have to place your order before they give you a table to sit at, which I found be more efficient than waiting for a table. I ordered the burrata toast and had the option to switch out my salad with potatoes for $3 more. I opted to try the potatoes since my friend mentioned that they were super flavorful. My friend and I sat down close the the entrance and only waited about 10 mins for our food to come out. The pesto spread on the toast worked well with the burrata and tomato and the potatoes were in fact, super flavorful!! I will definitely come back if I'm in the area!

I honestly thought it was an office building as I've passed by so many times, but was glad when friends suggested coming here to enjoy brunch in their back patio! I tried the shakshuka with sausage and it was flavorful. Got an iced latte that was decent. P2 got the yogurt (and apparently cotton candy-topped) pancakes and a hot mocha which were good! Friends all ordered things from grain bowls to waffles and things with eggs and all were raving about the food. Place is self service: you order at the counter, grab your water and utensils, and a runner drops the food to your table. The only downsides here were that it's slightly on the pricey side in my book and parking was a little meh. We got here at 10am on a Saturday and they have a parking person directing confused visitors where to go. The lot was already full so we parked on the street. Other than that, this place is a really nice spot to relax with friends or a date for weekend brunch! I'll definitely come back!

Perfectly crispy and golden, without being excessively greasy. If you get the sandwiches or burgers, you can sub out the fries for free. The fries are good too, but trust me, you will not regret getting the tots.
