Ordered online for pick up so I could try this fairly new pizza place in my downtown SSF neighborhood (or maybe just had a recent name change in last year?). Had the pizza and chicken wing combo special for $35 (using new customer $5 discount). Pepperoni pizza was pretty good size that would easily feed 3 (I think it was a Large). However, it was a little oily so crust got soggy, and could use a little more cheese... but overall, not bad (maybe a step above Costco)...perhaps I need to try another less generic pizza? The lemon pepper chicken wings were also just meh...not enough batter for me and although there were 7-8 pieces, the wings were kind of small. What could be better than a large pizza at the corner of your apartment on a Wednesday night at 10PM from Pizza Lovers? Absolutely nothing! As this week, my girlfriend & I have found our new go to pizza spot. There aren't many places where you can get a cozy & welcoming family owned feeling along with quality taste. In the picture is a half San Francisco pizza & White Sauce pizza (olives, pepperoni, goat cheese, sausage, onions, green bell pepper, and chicken) This was our first time my girlfriend & I went to this spot. We stood outside of the pizza joint in what felt the frozen tundra in over 50mph wind with our dog and owner, Mo welcomed us as we were afraid no dogs were allowed in. He broke down the menu to us as he could see on our confused & overwhelmed faces as we gazed at the menu. He was so patient and soft spoken when he was explaining each pizza. We ended up getting what was pictured. Mo & I talked for a brief 15 - 20 min just about the area and learning a bit about each other. At the end of the night when the pizza was ready it felt like I had just reunited with an old high school friend that I haven't seen in ages. Service was fast and very welcoming. My husband and I have been to pizza lover a handful of times and each time, it's been great! The first time we had them, we tried a gluten free pizza and Philly cheesesteak with fries. Surprisingly the GF pizza was really good for being GF. We usually don't eat GF pizza but it's something we wanted to try! The Philly cheesesteak with fries is something we get every time.. it's gotten to the point where the staff at the front know my husband's order and what he likes. They're very attentive and have a small seating area on the side that's half booth and half chair seating. It's a small hole in the wall place but it's delicious every time! The other few times my husband and I have been back, we get a slice or two of pizza (whatever they have in the front-they heat it up for you and bring it to the table if you dine in!); we get a Philly cheesesteak with fries, and share a slice of chocolate cake ! The Philly cheesesteak: this is our favorite- the ratio of bread/meat/cheese is on point & delicious every time. The chopped cheese: we got this once when they didn't have the Philly cheesesteak- the chopped cheese was pretty good and we would get it again but LOVE the cheesesteak! It had tomatoes and lettuce with a hamburger patty chopped with cheese. Slices of pizza: honestly , we've enjoyed every slice of pizza we've tried from here and like that they heat it up so it's nice and fresh.. I love having a variety of options, so it appeases my different preference every time! Caesar salad: the salad is really good although basic. On 12-18-25 I placed an online order on Pizza Lovers website, for a to go pizzza from Pizza Lovers South San Francisco. It was the first and last time I will ever do business with them. A medium thick crust pie with extra cheese, garlic, mushrooms and half with sausage. The price was a staggering $41.25 but knowing what an expensive, upscale area South San Francisco, CA has become I just dealt with it. When I order a to go pizza from any where I always open the box in the store and take a good look at the pie to make sure they got it right. To my shock and dismay the pizza was actually the size of a small pie that other pizzarias sell as a medium. Before I could say a word the person behind the counter must have caught my vibe and told me that's a medium pie and began to tell me the range of sizes, small, medium, large and extra large which I told him I was familiar with. I noticed that the toppings, all of which cost much more than any pizzaria I have frequented ($3.00 each for the extra cheese garlic and mushrooms and $6.00 for half of the pie containing the sausage) were scarce. When I got home my significant other went off on me for paying that much, especially for so little. Now I will talk about the quality of the pizza. Six tiny slices. The crust was not thick as ordered. It was thin and under cooked to the degree that I couldn't pick up a slice (even with the skimpy amount of toppings) without it drooping and having everything slide off it and it tasted underwhelminly meh. For what amounted to $6.87 per slice I expected much better. I am from New York City and my pizzarometer is set higher than people in California, but come on people, if you give this place anything more than one star, you have no sense of taste! A $9.00 pie from Little Caesar's is better than this! read more

We were looking for yummy (non commercial) pizza and found Chicos on a yelp whim. Ordered from the available slices: pepperoni, chicos 'supreme', and the pesto chicken. Surprisingly, the pepperoni was actually my favorite! When he asks you if You want it regular or crispy, get it crispy! The supreme and chicken pesto didn't get hot enough or enough "crisp" and weren't as good. In order of fav: pepperoni (it was just the perfect bite), supreme (really flavorful!), pesto chicken was meh... probably really good if you get a fresh full pizza. We also ordered BBQ and Lemon Pepper wings. The bbq wings were as expected, but the lemon pepper were THE STAR!! It wasn't your typical 'dry rub' which I don't like. They cooked the wings in butter with the lemon pepper and they had this crazy pop of flavor with crispy skin. OMG! Def some of the best wings I've had. Also got the chicken spaghetti bolognese which had the craziest layer of cheese!!! It was soooo good, especially with the complimentary garlic bread. Both perfectly cooked and flavored. I'm so glad we got more than just pizza!! And the service and staff were so sweet and helpful. Definitely went over and above. I removed one star for the pesto slice that fell below par. My last food stop before heading to the airport, and this is a decent slice. The service really sets Chico's apart from many other places, though! I don't know the last time I had such fantastic service at a pizza place! I've had better Pizza in my life, but this is a solid above average slice! I was given the option of having it crispy or a little softer, I opted for softer since I'm not a crunchy pizza fan. There was plenty of street parking right outside, I didn't pay the meter because I just ran in for a few minutes to get a slice to go and it was okay, but definitely look around for any meter maids if you are doing the same. For $4.75, the slice was a pretty good size and was quite filling!
