Before I decided on going with General B Contractor, I talked to Shota several times on the phone as I had a lot of questions on warranty, differences between brands (pros and cons), concerns related to the installation process, etc. Shota was always very patient and friendly, and he took the time to explain and answer my questions. He almost always picked up the phone whenever I called, and always in a cheerful and pleasnat tone. Even if he was busy and could not talk at the time, he would still answer and let me know that he would contact me later. He made me feel like a VIP customer, even though I only was planning on replacing a few windows for the rental house. Due to a situation, I was unable to be at the rental house at the time of the measurement or installation. Shota coordinated with the tenants on scheduling and got it all done smoothly. He sent me pictures of each of the windows after installation. A happy surprise which he had not mentioned but the tenant told me was that the egress windows in the bedroom came with screens! read more

Warned me about the 2-3 month wait time as their manufacturer is in China. Windows finally arrived two weeks ago and were installed this week. Not sure why there are a couple of negative reviews (could be those one off cases) but we recently had all our doors installed and experience was very good. Shota and team came on first day and discussed the options etc and started the same day on a couple of doors. The rest were done in the following days after the remaining door orders arrived (as they needed to be custom sized). The team went about the job professionally and end result was excellent!!. We decided to upgrade the 9 interior doors in our condo to solid 6-panel doors. I reviewed the Yelp ratings and got estimates from a handyman, a window/door installer (General B), and a contractor. General B's price was a little higher than the handyman, but included guiding me on choosing the doors, measuring the doors, picking up and installing the new doors and disposing of the old doors. The contractor was almost double the price, but also included painting and hardware (which we didn't need). Shota was incredibly responsive and helpful every step of the way! Arnold picked up the doors and did the installation--fast, clean, kind, and beautiful work! The doors look fabulous!! Shota seems to handle all communication/bids/etc, so although he is very busy & occasionally takes a couple of hours to return your call, he makes your job feel important. They did respond to my inquiries and came out as scheduled to give an estimate for replacing 4 bedroom windows. And also kept the schedule to do the work. I like the windows, except that the caulking around the frames was very sloppy. I selected white windows, but after the installation I was upset that they didn't remind me that the other windows were black/brown They just asked if I wanted white or black windows and I was only thinking about the inside so I decided white would be better, I know it's not their responsibility, but I still think they should have said something. I did try to contact him again about painting the window frames, but he never got back to me. He could at least say it was too small a job or they didn't do that or something. I have now gotten someone else to paint the frames dark as I want. So it can be done. read more

I hired Shota to install French Doors in my formal living room. We needed a private office for my wife due to COVID, and we decided to convert the room to her area. We wanted as much form as function, however. We wanted to make sure that the doors are beautiful and go with the aesthetic of the house. As promised, he gave me an updated quote on the same day. By this time, I had a very good bid from another company. Even though Shota was not able to beat that price, he called twice and explained why he could not beat them and even said nice things about the other company/salesman. Even though I did not end up going with General B, I appreciate the follow up and explanations after the initial issue. Raising my review to 5/5 based on the follow-up. Original review [3/30/2021] - 1/5 Called on recommendation from a friend and Yelp reviews. Shota came home the next day and took all measurements. Very knowledgeable and was helpful during his explanation of which options would work best. Promised a quote in 1 day. The good stuff ends here. 2 weeks and multiple Yelp messages/phone calls later, I still have to get a quote. When I called, Shota pretended to be on another call and said would call back in 2 mins. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor and I highly don't recommend them. We hired them to replace our windows in March. Since the windows arrived in early June, the installation project has dragged on and on and on. Absolutely nothing gets done unless I am calling and texting weekly. We are at the tail end of the project, they have been almost completely paid in full and it is impossible to get direct responses or updates from them. When the owner calls, he gives empty promises and blames other people in his company that he's waiting on. I have been more than patient and understanding in this process, but I regret hiring them. read more

General B Contractor was excellent in providing service for my primary residence. We installed new windows, which I researched and then sent over all the specifications to Shota, who then placed the order. Shota also worked with HOA rules of providing insurance verification and adding then as additional insured. Once the work was completely finished, I was walked to see the the windows and shown how to properly operate the brand new double pane windows. The previous ones we had were single pane, and many years old. I had some concerns about the window seal, but I soon found out the work was properly done. However, the owner of General B did send a senior worker to review my concerns, and with good knowledge addressed them all. So my post installation experience was also great, as my concerns were put to rest. I received a warranty certificate as well for any issues with the install after the job was completed. During the summer, the windows performed well but now during cold time, it is night and day compare to what we had. The windows have done well in blocking the elements, and I am sure the installation is what's making them work even better. It has been 9 months since the install. I decided to write this review because I am very much appreciative of the work done, excellent service provided, and a difference in the comfort of the home my family can feel. I also save on my gas and electrical bill as there is less heat needed to heat my home and less air conditioning during the summer. read more
