Edwin's estimates are straightforward and fair. No "we'll reassess once we're up there." The number stays the number. I've also priced the larger companies (including The Davey Tree Expert Company), and the difference wasn't subtle. EC came in literally 3-4x less. Same clean cuts. Same haul-away. Same spotless yard. They show up. They move fast. They clean everything. In a region where contractor pricing sometimes feels venture-backed, Edwin is refreshingly old-school.

I have about 10 individual plants with delicate flowers in the ground that I planted underneath the tree and instead of dropping the largest branches on the grass in front of the tree to avoid my delicate flowers, they destroyed them by carelessly dropping those large branches one by one all over the flowers. I saw them on video do it too. I had to put some of the stems back together with ties however, one of my flowering plants died due to the damage being too significant. Won't be using them again. They need to not be so careless.

Efficient and punctual is great for any contractor! They took about 6 hours total to remove 1 very tall (but dead) Monterey Pine to about the fence line and trim away the dead branches on a second pine. The cleaned up and made the area even cleaner than it was before. All of the debris was hauled away and in the second tree they not only cut the dead branches away but also made it look nicer by doing expert pruning. Overall we are so happy with the work. They have easily won a place in our books for any future tree needs.

We are 100% happy customers (-: We requested for all of our different palm trees, box shrubs, and podocarpus hedge to be trimmed back (all if not most were at least 2-3 stories tall). The crew was on time, extremely efficicent and communicative. Everyone was very mindful of our neighbors fence, property, roof line and powerlines. Everyone had PPE on and were so incredibly safe when scaling the trees and hedges. Clean up was very thorough. Majority of our fronds and hedge were processed by the chipper and hauled. Our neighbor was so impressed with the crew he also hired them on the spot to take care of his street tree. It is impressive how much green waste we produced that day. We have never had a CA Vendor try to charge us after a few days, the law even says right to cancel for 7 days. We would have been happy to pay for an inspection, but $1100 to cancel a job is absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT RECOMMEND We will not use them for any projects since this is how they want to run their business.

We hired Jorge for a full backyard overhaul: removing bamboo and lawn on two levels, installing…read moregopher wire mesh, replacing soil, planting 25 ground plants, and replacing our pop-up sprinkler system with drip irrigation throughout. Leading up to and during the project he was responsive and communicative. When he told us the work was complete, we paid in full -- only to discover afterward that an entire section of irrigation had been left out, despite being explicitly included in our written agreement. When we raised this, he suggested we had been unclear, but we had the itemized scope in writing. He said he would come fix it, and over the following two-plus months, we scheduled at least five appointments to have it finished. Each time, he either didn't show, sent a substitute without notice, or confirmed and then cancelled same-day. His responsiveness -- so reliable before payment -- dropped off entirely. He has since stopped responding altogether. In the process, other issues surfaced. The gopher wire was left too close to the surface, leaving sharp exposed edges near plants -- making that area unsafe to walk through -- and it hasn't effectively deterred gophers, who are still reaching plants and roots through gaps at the top. On multiple visits, despite telling us that he was coming, he sent different workers; they never addressed the outstanding issues and only weeded. On one visit, newly sprouted seedlings we had specifically pointed out not to pull, were pulled. His offer of a warranty was a factor in choosing him over other landscapers -- but he has not returned to finish the incomplete work or address any of the issues above so I'm not sure how his "warranty" even works. We'd strongly recommend inspecting all work thoroughly before making any payment, and getting any commitments -- including warranty terms -- in writing.

Their price is reasonable for the more robust material they used together with their professional and efficient workmanship exercised. My project involves stamped concrete and artificial grass installation in the front and back yard for a combined area of around 1,900 sq ft. Other contractors tricked us to use their services while cutting corners to lower their cost by reducing thickness of concrete and base gravel for turf, and by deploying a weaker 1/4" rebar structure spaced every 24" for driveway and walkway without warranty. Without further bargaining with Juan, he already provided the best material and installation means for the sake of easy long term maintenance with warranty. For instance, Juan installed 5" thick concrete over 2" compacted rock base with 1/2" rebar spaced every 12 inches for my new driveway! Unlike other contractors who might show up only every few days with a couple of guys, Juan and his team were here EVERY day no later than 8:00am until the project completed. Their work and their attention to detail was just excellent! I highly recommended Green Landscape Construction as a truly reliable contractor.

He brought some caution tape and used our garbage and recycling bins to block off the area. If you Google it, you should water your cement a few times during the day so the cement dries slower and sets stronger. Juan was a great guy and so were his people. He can do other things too, just ask him if you have other projects you need done. Mom and the neighbors loved the work also.
