Had to seek out General Porpoise before I left and was not disappointed. These brioche doughnuts were a delight and reminded me of my favorite ones from London. Highly recommended!

This is a must when walking downtown in the AM. Our group favored the vanilla custard and maple options most - and they have delicious iced and hot beverages! The kind staff gave us great recommendations that morning. Plenty of seating for a group our size during a slower morning before a World Cup match!

I haven't been to a GP for years, last time I went was when they had a shop in Cap Hill. Anyways, I was working nearby the Pioneer Square location, so I decided to stop by. Came by mid-day, wasn't busy, not too many donut selections left so I just grabbed a couple they still had. I got the Vanilla Custard and a Chocolate Marshmallow one. Both were pretty good but I preferred the vanilla one better. The chocolate was more dark chocolate, didn't really taste marshmallow though. Sugar donut with a good amount of filling inside. I also got a Chai latte, that was pretty good, nice spice and flavorful. Glad to have stopped by again, still pretty darn good. Staff was friendly and quick to get your order up, more on the pricier side for donuts. Nice looking location next to a boutique in Pioneer Square.

Stopped by after i watched a TikTok & read the reviews (which all seem great!). The interior is beautiful with high ceilings, bright lighting and marble tables... however, I definitely feel like you are just paying for the aesthetic and vibes here because I honestly did not find the donuts or coffee to be that good! We got the iced latte (vanilla added with a charge) + the seasonal iced peppermint mocha as well as lemon tiramisu and chocolate marshmallow donut. Unfortunately, the coffee was just .... Not good at all! They both tasted like straight up milk & I couldn't taste any coffee or vanilla. Whatever coffee you could taste is just so bitter. My partner said he felt his coffee was strong though, so that's a positive. The peppermint mocha just tastes like crushed peppermint in water. The donuts are $6 each, and while they are pretty fluffy and do taste pretty good, there's hardly any filling in them, besides a little pocket in the middle. I don't necessarily think they're mind boggling or crazy. Honestly, I feel like the price is just not worth it imo, but def recommend you come here yourself to try!

The cafe is designed to enjoy the surroundings because it's a beautiful spot. Lots of space, pretty interior and decor. Although there weren't many donuts selections. The taste of the donuts were alright. And because there weren't many donuts to choose from, the cafe felt empty and the service felt cold. Didn't try its coffees but will try them next time.

Such a charming little spot! I ordered a soy latte which was great. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which makes a big difference. The shop itself is also adorable with a cute and relaxing vibe that's perfect for a coffee break or catch-up with friends. I'd say it's one of my favorite stops in the area, and the only downside is that parking could be challenging.

The vanilla bean custard donut is incredible. 10/10 no notes. Rich vanilla flavor and smooth custard. The dough was fresh and the sugar on top went well with bread and filling. The strawberry rhubarb was very flavorful. A little too strong for me but I can see the appeal, especially if you love rhubarb.

We came across General Porpoise while walking home one day and decided to stop in. It's a very elegant little corner coffee and donut shop. They've got a nice little cafe, servers with smiles, some local roasted bags of coffee to choose from, as well as their delightful donuts. The donuts have a slight crisp to them, almost like a croissant, and the filling was so smooth, but not overly sweet. I don't think I've ever had a donut quite like it in my life, but it was for sure one of the better donuts I've had. Can't wait for my next visit!

Very cute spot for a quick dessert bite. Staff was kind enough to give some recommendations and I ended up trying the vanilla custard. Pastries looked delicious and unfortunately I only got to try the vanilla custard. I'm from NY but whenever I visit Seattle again, I would come back and try other flavors. I would also recommend to anyone who is visiting Seattle as well.

This was recommended by a friend who lives out here. The iced coffee, lattes, and americano were all incredible. Super delicious. The donuts quite unique and incredibly delicious. A little on the pricey side; but well worth it.

Excellent donut place with fresh fillings ! Great taste and size for the price .. recommend!

This is a very cute coffee spot. Coffee was good. Staff was nice. Was visiting the area and wanted to try the donuts and yum! That and the coffee was excellent. Wish I had found it sooner so I could have gone everyday

What a great little spot to stop in for coffee. The brown sugar lattes were amazing! They are located inside a space that also has a shop, so don't let that stop you from coming in. Also, they did just run out of donuts when we arrived late afternoon, so bear that in mind. Just love this spot!

My friend and I went around 11:45 am on a Saturday and the line was around the block. We saw lots of groups give up and leave annnd even people driving by commented that it wasn't worth it. However, my friend had her eye on the banana pudding hojicha so we stayed. The inside is cute, very crowded so you definitely have to loiter for tables as they become available. I do love the little tables and chairs by the entrance, definitely a call out to the asian experience. For 3 drinks, our total was ~30 so with my tip, $34 dollars total. And for that price, it better be good....ALAS. That was wishful thinking because the matcha was watery, the cream top had almost no flavor and the entire drink was lackluster. My friend's hojicha was undrinkable imo though she said the banana pudding was the best part and saved the drink for her. We also got the phe keo -- caramel coffee with honeycomb which was the saving grace but also a tad too cloyingly sweet for me. This is not worth the line whatsoever in a city with 300 other matcha spots that are frankly better. Check it out if you want to decide for yourself, but it's a pass for me.

I noticed that they now pour drinks from a pre-made plastic jug instead of making them fresh like when the store first opened. I usually don't get sick from drinking coffee but twice in a row is pretty bad. Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups. Sad to say, but my time visiting this chain has come to an end.
