Tried a single donut. It was okay but lacked flavor in my opinion. It tasted like sweet cake that's been fried in oil that had an even sweeter glaze on the outside. I can't tell what flavor it's supposed to be. I'm glad it's not too sweet but it was very plain. IDK maybe the other varieties would be better. They say it's organic if you are paying attention to that. Not as smooth or sweet as Krispy Kreme but also not as greasy. Not as good as my all-time fav -dunkin. I visited Mighty-O Donuts on a recommendation from a friend. They offer vegan, organic donuts that come in a variety of flavors. I was pleased to see that they had so much to choose from. These weren't just typical flavors either. I limited myself to just two so I eventually decided on a blueberry cream cheese and a lemon poppyseed. The service was exceptional. The woman working the counter asked me about my weekend plans. She made suggestions for hiking (when I told her we planned a hike) and talked to me about T-Mobile Park (when I suggested I might catch a Mariners game). She wished me well on my day. Total, pleasant experience. The donuts are not the light, airy ones I grew up with. They are the cake variety donuts. These are fine, they were done well, but they aren't my favorite. I thought the blueberry cream cheese had nice flavor without being overpowering (some vegan cream cheese is too much!). The lemon poppyseed had a subtle lemon flavor. Neither was too sugary tasting. I thought the price of these donuts were on par with other vegan donuts I've had in other cities and even some non vegan ones my family enjoyed in Seattle. After walking by Mighty-O Donuts multiple times while working in the downtown area, it was time to celebrate Friday with a few treats for the day and to enjoy with a lazy Saturday morning coffee. A bit of a line , but it moved fast, service was great, filling orders of donuts and coffees fast and friendly. The donuts are organic, sustainable, and fair trade, maybe helps alleviate a little guilt for the indulgence? Lol I was hoping they had some gluten free options for one of my coworkers, but no luck. The shop itself is set on the corner of the street, with options to sit inside, very comfortable and inviting. My choices for the visit, which was challenging, cause they all looked so yummy! The peanut butter chocolate, blueberry fritter, French toast, and devils playground. All proved to be delicious choices ( of course! Their donuts!!) a little breakdown, the peanut butter chocolate had plenty of chocolate flavor, could have been a little more peanut butter taste, for balance, but still delicious. The French toast was so good.. plenty of cinnamon and maple syrup flavor, great with coffee! The blueberry fritter.. lots of organic flavorful blueberries and frosting, a filling and tasty fritter. And the devils playground... chocolate donut, chocolate frosting, and rainbow sprinkles... a playground of chocolate decadence... truly Nom nom nom worthy. I visited in January, I believe right when it reopened. The staff did not look like she wanted to be there and she was not happy to take our order. Our coffee and latte was half cold, and the donuts tasted a bit stale. At that time I had no idea Mighty-O's was a chain, and I thought the low amount of customers meant that this place wasn't great and was about to close down with its neighbors. I would like to give it another chance, but I do not have much faith in this particular shop. read more

The shop is bright and clean with a colorful display that showcases all the flavors that are available. So far I've tried the Grasshopper and Lemon Poppyseed, which were at complete opposite sides of the flavor spectrum (chocolately vs. light and citrusy). I've always had great service when I've gone - the last time I went, they even had a few mini donut samples available for customers to try. I wanted to love them but they really are pretty mediocre. When I arrived the display case was virtually which I understand it's 10am. That being said the choices that were available were all cake donuts... do you really just make cake donuts??? Hell I make raised yeast vegan donuts at home! It's not hard guys! Take a drive south and check out doe all vegan and amazing there! Service was good and the coffee is good, luckily I caught the guy pouring whole milk in my latte when I asked for oat milk! Let me preface by saying that my current favorite donuts/doughnuts are by local (& vegan) private/personal chefs who sell locally and do pop-ups at various events and markets. But aside from them, M-O is most definitely my 2nd favorite donut treat spot! My favorites are typically the lemon poppy seed, anything nutty (tangent: Jerry Lewis in Nutty Professor, lol), anything with chai spice/french toast, and [insert fruit] fritter. Sometimes the others on lesser occasions as the mood dictates, of course. If they read this: please do a blueberry fritter! The staff at this location are generally super friendly & laid back, with a bit of pleasant spunk at times. With a long local history, they've developed a truly admirable philosophy for organic & sustainable ingredients/practices. A business that takes pride in these aspects of both business and just life in general is my kind of happy place as I try to focus on these things in my life as much as I can, as well. Once you try them, hopefully you will never lay a finger-licking finger on those "other guys" ever again (looking at you Hostess, local inexpensive diners/cafes/bakeries, etc) - unless, of course, the organic & sustainable treats demand becomes more competitive; eh, good problems, I suppose! Delicious donuts! I've tried both the Maple Bar and French Toast donuts and they're both just the right amount of sweetness where you don't feel sick after eating either. For the French Toast donut, the dough is the perfect amount of chewiness. The staff are really friendly over here and cut us a couple samples because we were struggling to decide! On a recent trip downtown Tuesday morning, I stopped by the new Mighty-O outlet to purchase an array of doughnuts for myself and my partner: a poppy seed, a twist, and a chocolate cake doughnut. The counterstaff did not acknowledge my presence when I arrived to the empty shop, when I asked to order she did not look in my direction and asked what I wanted, when I asked to pay by card she took it from my hand to run it, barked to the group entering "Do any of you want drink orders?", turned the payment kisok to me to sign, then, at the group's negative answer, walked out of the shop without a word. Another service staff arrived from the back to take the group's order. A quick three block trip home and I anticipated the doughnuts we've come to love. My partner and I were both disappointed: Each tasted like it had been cooked the day before -- dry and lacking flavour and character. It seemed fitting. I hope that the shop can find its way as it generally is far superior to its competitors. Top Pot is but a block or two away and at least the staff there are nice. read more

I do enjoy the experience, but I will say this: these aren't doughnuts, they're a little on the cakey end and that's probably because of how they are prepared. These donuts are delicious and yes, a lifesaver to vegans everywhere. Expensive. So I almost never go, which is a shame (for me, probably not for them). I love the values and practices of the company, and kinda wish they would advertise the "vegan" part more. As far as I know, it's not mentioned anywhere inside the store (I can't find it), and the word "vegan" is not on the website. Here is the only sentence I found online that hints at the donuts being vegan: "A sweet treat with no chemicals, no genetically modified organisms, and no animal products--something everyone could enjoy." I get it. Vegan can be a "bad word" and might discourage some customers. Yet wouldn't it be great to get the word more good publicity by being a bit louder about how good vegan donuts can be? I feel like it's a bit sneaky and a lot of folks are going in thinking it's organic and that's it. They might have a lot of vegan fans that don't even know they are! Or maybe it's just me.
