We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and we had to wait for some time until a sales employee was available. But we were invited to walk through the lot to look at the campers. All the campers that we were interested in were unlocked so we were able to get inside of of them. A sales employee came out on a golf cart, and she drove us around to different campers. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She also provided us with cold water bottles which we appreciated as it was quite hot. We didn't make a purchase on this trip so we will discuss our favorite campers and return soon. read more

Our first camper we purchased there was perfect in every way about 20 years ago. This time we went back, every game in the book was played. All we wanted was the bottom line price. Found the same camper over $10,000 less at another rv place. After a general RV found out that price, they wanted to match it . At the end of the day we went to this other place to purchase our camper as we appreciated them, not wasting our time and General RV informed us they would never service our camper strictly because we did not purchase it from them. This is feedback for the Draper Utah dealership. My husband and I are from Pennsylvania and were traveling across country when the Lippert stabilizer jack began to extend while our RV was moving. The monitor began beeping to warn us. We had to tie the jack up with straps and pull over multiple times to ensure the straps were holding - they were not). Needless to say, this was incredibly stressful. We located the Draper dealership and went out of our travel route hoping they could assist. THEY WERE AMAZING!!! They quickly looked at the issue and then spent time resolving it the best they could to get us back on the road. These employees and this dealership were amazing!!! Purchased a used camper 2 weeks ago from the Clarkston location. First it was not cleaned on the interior, still had mouse and chipmunk droppings and nut. Stem from grapes from previous owners on the floor, vents full on dirt. Black tank (toilet) full of the previous owns droppings. Both gray tanks full. Paid for the EcoPro fogging for germs etc. This was not done as well and per General they will not refund this money I paid for this. The EcoPro company also is washing their hands of the problem as well. There is on lady in customer service that generally cared, but her hands are tied as well for what she can do. Said A/C is fine and found gasoline leak at a quick connect near exhaust. We contacted to finalize the repairs. I asked if he had any advice for me to operate AC. Then I explained that AC was blowing air just not cooling. Also told him about F71 code on thermostat. would do further investigation. F71 code indicates coil freeze sensor problem 7/6/22. Still waiting for part for Ac repair. Lots of hassle between Thor and Just Trucks. 7/13/22. Submitted request for reimbursement 7/14/22. Thor wants more info and it was provided. 7/16/22. picked up camper (no usb mirroring now) 7/21/22. Its a lot of fun to watch Matt and his videos. He represents General RV and encourages us to call and use his Matt Bucks to buy their RV's. He truly seems to care about people and so you think perhaps General RV cares about people. Sadly, they don't and pressurized sales tactics are there only currency for human interaction. Matt recently had a video of a show in Ocala, where he showed us active Class B's and C's for sale with show pricing. The second RV he showed was something new to me and something I would have like to actively pursue, a $70K Thor Pasadena SE21. However I could not find this RV anywhere, and even the Thor website didn't have this model and Thor representatives could fail to find it. Chatted with General and no one seemed to know it existed. Routed to an email with RILEY who asked me my budget? Why? This person never answered, emailed again, still nothing about the $70k RV. This time they asked if I filled out a trade form. Why again? Got a weird deflection email that was an attempt to insult me. My conclusion, this was a bait and switch, showing a 1 off low ball model to get us in the door to buy something else, obviously more expensive. I have called General before the last time I was RV shopping and was strong armed by another mean spirited sales professional. Last Wednesday my husband set out on a trip to Monroe with out travel trailer. We had gone on many trips with this trailer. We got on the highway and we could feel a sway. We stopped in a parking lot and tightened out bars more then we ever had. We got back on the road and the sway was still there. General RV - Mount Clemens was the next exit so we got off the highway and pulled in. My husband went in and asked if there was any way someone could look at it. Laurie said absolutely pull in to the bay. We did that and Robert came out to check it out. He measured, check the hitch hook up and the weight distribution. He determined that we just needed to tighten the bars even more (3 rings tighter than we ever had). He made that adjustment and got us on the road. No more sway. Since 2014 we've purchased 3 RVs from General. 1 from Brownstown and 2 from Mt. Clemens. We never had an issue at the time of the sale or in subsequent maintenance/service visits. We felt confident with the sales team and the persons responsible for prepping the units. We have purchased a large fifth wheel from a dealership in another state and wished we had the same sales experience as we had with General. One more thing. Lori Pelath in service at Mt. Clemens is an important part of the General RV experience. She is "can do" and "will do" and the best example of what the post sales customer service should be. Was interested in a few RV's - went to see if I could get financed and what the numbers looked like - the salesman said oy we can get you financed- said I want the numbers - then wanted me to put a deposit down on the camper I was interested in, but had not seen in person yet - they were saying oh thats how we work - so its less hassle on the customer - no its a hassle for a customer to go through a credit app - never given the numbers - then put down a deposit and if you dont like it after a 2 hr drive round trip to see it - oh you will get your deposit back - but its just more work for a buyer - they arent customer savy - then I talked with my ex and he said he ended up buying his RV at another RV business cause General was really pushy and their customer service was terrible when they went into look at RV's - thanks but no thanks general! read more

I gave my salesman a list of wants and needs and he checked all the boxes and kept me in my price range. After my wife,son and I chose our unit and were comfortable with the price. We signed. Had our inspection and tour and off we went. Small issue with the unit and because of General RVs "keep you camping" service, we were back camping in no time. This place is an absolute joke. Took an rv in for repairs and the quoted cost to repair was astronomical. Not only did they want 400 percent over retail for the part that needed repair but also wanted 5 hours billed at 235 dollars an hour for a repair that is quoted at being 1-1.5 hours. Tech spent literally 15 minutes "diagnosing" another issue only to say there's nothing wrong (there is) and my bill without anything even being done was $800 including a $50 charge for shop supplies....what supplies? I Bought a 2022 Fleetwood Fortis 32 RW from Wixom, and it only has 700 miles, from the time of my purchase the unit has 4 recalls, and the quality of the unit is poor, in addition the communication is just as poor as my unit has been in the service over a month with no contact. The suggestion that this unit could be used for fulltime camping is yet to be desired as I feel the construction is apparently shotty and I fear the Box my come off the Chassis. read more

This place is a joke. Bought a new popup last summer and from the start, it did not go well. Our "demo" was with a tech who didn't know popups well. And being first time trailer owners, I was overwhelmed with the information and had no clue what questions to ask. Got it home and noticed the weight distribution hitch we payed for was not installed. Called to ask where is the items I payed for, was told they could not install on the tongue of trailer because the rails were to small.. MMM ok, then why wasn't I told this at pickup, and why was I not refunded the cost since you knew it was not installed???? We take it on our first camping trip. Found out the awning was installed upside down. We had to remove the awning ourselves and install correctly. The velcro to seal the door was missing, had to use tape. The canvas on the slide out dinette was part way out of the track and we could not get it back in. And to top it all off, the AC did not work. Took the camper back in to address these issues and all was repair except the AC. They claimed they could not repeat the problem. We used the camper one more time that year and was cool enough not to need the AC. This year we planned 4 trips with the popup and on the first trip, the AC still did not work. I wasn't about to cancel the rest of the trips because my trailer was in for repairs so I decided to take in at the end of our season. On one of our trips I turn the AC on, removed the filters, and could see the issue with the AC. The condenser was freezing over thus choking the AC. Definitely took pictures to prove there was an issue. Also thinking how could they have missed this, they are the professionals. So since the AC is not working, I tried to open the fan vent and run that. Well, the poor demo I talked about before bites me here. I have no idea how to open the vent and broke the knob. I can see the piece laying on the screen beneath the fan. One more thing to fix on my mostly new popup. I finally got the trailer in for fixes on the vent and AC. I did show them the pictures of the frozen over condeser and pointed out the piece for the vent fan. I got a text saying the AC was not showing the issues I had brought up. I refused to accept this and told them to run it longer. They are now asking the manufacturer to replace the AC. Finally a win. Will take 8 to 10 weeks to get the AC in after the manufacturer agrees to replace I also get a text stating it will be $239.55 to replace the vent van?!?!?! I ask why the whole fan since only the knob was broke. It was stated in the techs notes, "Fan would not run because a piece was jammed in the blades." I asked why they would turn the fan on when I pointed out the broken piece was laying on the screen. Was told the tech did not turn the fan on. Umm, what!?!?!? Can someone explain to me how the tech knew the fan didn't work if he didn't turn it on?? And how did the broken piece just jump itself into the fan blades if the fan, that does not work, was never turned on??? I told them I would not be ordering the vent fan replacement. OK, the reply is, you owe $94.45 diag fee. FOR WHAT??? For the tech to say, yes, the knob is broken??? Because by your own admission, they didn't turn the fan on. Please do not purchase an rv from General RV. If you have to use their service department, they will try and rob you blind. read more

Upon delivery, windshield wiper motor hanging front slide is scraping floor to the point of slicing up the floor leaving metal shavings on floor when retracted and extended, refrigerator is leaning on the wall and vertically way outta line, LP line is kinked (Craig Biazo said was ok) its a fire hazard! both radio and camera screens go out when you hit a bump, window crank over couch is stripped, rubber under front slide is not affixed, jacks inop, coach will not go over 60mph engine light on since delivery front windshield shade not in the trac. I am at their mercy and they are unable to repair till May. This is outrageous! They strong arm you and you hav no choice. Dealing with Craig Biazo, Ricardo Torres from factory and Salesman Jeremy Latoza is futile. They stonewall you and leave you feeling helpless. I filed complaints with state and national consumer protection agencies. Does not phase them! They block for each other and deflect. Since i can not use the coach for 6 months they have no sense of urgency to repair or compassion! I had purchased 6 new motorhomes and NEVER was treated like this and had so many issues! read more

The service dept is poorly organized and under qualified i made an appointment two weeks out for service only to find out it would set for a week for "diagnosis " I was told parts could take 6 to 8 weeks. I brought my motor home back home so we could use it. The parts came in the next day. ThenI was told I needed an appointment to get The parts installed-another two weeks out. I really was hoping when we brought our travel trailer in we would have an amazing, easy experience especially since we know someone who works there, but honestly, this was the worst experience ever. We had made an appointment in January 2021 to have the seal-tech check, bearings packed, brakes, and an overall inspection done at the end of March. We made the appointment so far in advanced because we had a little unusual schedule (traveling back to MI to work on the travel trailer for 3 weeks before leaving for work) so we wanted to make sure we were able to get it in the same day we dropped it off. The rep asked if it was alright to leave it over night which we said was fine but made it clear we would need to pick it up before the weekend to start the renovation work needed to be done. Well, after we dropped it off, we didn't hear from them for 2 days. WE had to called General RV to see what was going on after still hearing nothing at the end of day 2 and they didn't even get it in to look at it yet. We reminded them we have a tight schedule and need to get it back before the weekend (it was Thursday at this point). The rep said to be honest, I don't even know when we will be able to get it in but he would try and get it in ASAP. Friday comes, and they finally get it in and do the tests and let us know our travel trailer needs 4-5 hours of sealing around windows, roofline, and doors and it would cost $500 for just the sealing. We were already delayed at this point, so we said go for it because hey- they're pros, right? Wrong. We get the travel trailer back after spending around $2,000 and that night it rains. The next morning we go inside the travel trailer and there's water EVERYWHERE- in window sills, on the kitchen countertop, a TON in the shower from the skylight. We are furious about it. My husband calls up to GRV- no answer. Calls again, leaves a voicemail. Waits a day, calls- voicemail-no callback. We are kind in the beginning but start to get impatient towards the end. It wasn't for ONE FULL WEEK until they call back just to say "Ken is the head of this department and he's out. He will call you next Monday." By then, my dad and I bought sealant ourselves for $50 and go over all the work they did. My dad being my dad jokes with me "if they did a seal-tech check, they did it without the solution because they missed all these spots and barely used ANY product around the joints and where it should be sealed." So the new week comes, Ken never calls. My husband is pretty pissed at this point and so am I. He calls and calls. Finally we get an answer.. when we are back in Rhode Island. "You have to bring your travel trailer back in store to prove we didn't do the work correct then we can talk from there." Like, who in their right mind would see their trailer is leaking and let it SIT for 3 weeks?! We wasted $500 on the sealant work and they did NOTHING. we wasted another $165 on the seal tech because they didn't find the true leaking areas. We wasted ANOTHER $165 because for whatever reason they charged us 2 TIMES for the seal tech check (proof on the receipt) and have still not answered why. The only saving grace in this place is our friend. He was the driving force bugging the people he worked with to call us back, made sure our travel trailer actually got to the tech to be worked on, made sure our timeline was met, and that's probably why we eventually got a callback after we found major issues. Seriously, don't get ANY work done here. We spent close to $900 to seal our travel trailer when it was a few hours and $50 of sealant to do ourselves. read more

Do NOT go to General RV. They do not back up what they say at the time of sale. I was told several things would be fixed prior to delivery and they weren't. We bought the 'special coating' for the trailer that's supposed to protect it. However, when they delivered the RV it still had stickers on it. Now, how can you fully coat something that still has stickers on it. There were several little things that needed to be fixed and I was told by our salesman, David, that General RV would take care of everything before we took possession. Turns out he wasn't any better that the 'used car salesman' that distances himself the minute the deal is signed. The RV we bought was brand new and has several problems. Some of which are manufacturer workmanship, HOWEVER, we were told they would take care of all of them. I had to have the RV delivered to my campground because I had no way to tow it. Now, in order to get these things repaired, I have to find some way to tow it, or pay them to have someone come get it. Now, wouldn't you think a major dealership would want to take care of their customers and make sure they are really happy and will come back or recommend them. Please do not go here.
