Unhappy with the service they provided to my wife.. Knowing she is a female they took advantage of her and sold her stuff that the car did not need like power steering flush, coolant flush, transs flush. Etc what a shame. I would not recommend general tire unless you want to throw money away and end up with head ache. Bunch of thieves............. read more

We were blessed by the owners of this business when we had a flat on our motorcyle. Not only did they try to repair our tire, even though they don't normally repair motorcyle tires, but they gave us a ride to Castle motorsports in Rivergate. After waiting about a week for my appt, I got up at 6am, found someone to care for my special needs son for the morning, and drove to general tires In the early morn. Anyway, I was told by a happy and cheerful customer service attendant that the mechanics who do the work I needed aren't coming in today... i said wait, Ive had an appt since last week, I'm not a Walk-in. He pushed to reschedule me, minimized it, and suggested it happens sometimes when the service is other than direct tire work. When I asked wait, what, why ??? again... he just repeated himself and pushed to reschedule. I thought of how I had to wait a week for my appt to begin with, needing adult spec needs care, getting up at 6am... ugh. I felt judged for my apparent irritability and I left without rescheduling. Customer service acted like I was flawed in some way for not just smiling and rescheduling. I wondered if I did reschedule, "would their mechanics not show up again?" read more

we dropped two tractor tires off Tuesday asked for slime to be in both tires . went to pick up on thursday only to find out rear rim had rust. no one bothered to give a courtesy phone call to let us know about the rust before we showed up. we then took the rusty wheel home and sanded and painted the wheel and took the wheel back at 1130am . was told by the Owner it would be ready in two hours . went back at 230pm and wheel was still sitting in same place. no apology or explanation we just waited . finally got the tire mounted. then while loading the tires just asked if we had the slime installed like we had asked for and the man said no. we then asked the owner and he said it was not communicated from his people. filled the front tire with slime and when asked about the rear his attitude went sour!!!! started saying he was losing money already. I could say some ill words but I suggest you do like me and NEVER give t this business another chance at giving poor customer service . I've been in the tire business for over 20 years and have never ever seen or experienced any unsatisfactory an un professional service such as this. read more

I've been a customer of this business for many years, but I will never go there again. This used to be an honest shop giving good service. Last month, however, after putting over $800 of brake work into my truck, I took the truck on an extended trip a day later and found that the master cylinder was completely empty, and the brakes were leaking. I called the shop while refilling the cylinder (and watching the fluid drip from beneath), and was told to get the truck fixed on the road and come back to General Tire on my return for reimbursement, which I did some 3 weeks later. I had to get leak repaired in Charleston WV, on a tight timeline (I nearly lost a contract due to the delay caused by the repair), and could only find one shop that would do the work. The manager at the shop wouldn't deal with General Tire, only with me. The repairs cost over $400. When I returned, the manager refused all responsibility, and kept coming up with reasons why: he didn't work on "that part of the brake," even though he said the work probably caused the valve to fail; the truck is old (even if the part that failed isn't); I should have taken it to NAPA (which to me means an auto parts store, which doesn't make any sense, and anyway I could only locate one place in Charleston that would work on the truck on short notice); I should have called General Tire, or had the repair shop call them (the Charleston shop manager wouldn't get involved in the issue, and anyway was quite busy); and on and on. Bottom line: they took over $800 of my money for fixing the brakes (which now squeal, btw.,) and sent the truck away in a condition which could have killed me or someone else, and refused to make it right. Give this shop a wide berth. You'll save yourself some heartburn, and maybe your life as well. read more
