This is not the auto shop for minor repairs or for people who have to watch their budget. My car stopped. I thought it was my alternator. The battery didn't seem to be holding a charge. I had taken out and had it tested and the auto parts place had told me I needed a new alternator. I had Pheonix come and get it. They were quick and responsive and all I needed was a new battery that ended up costing me 782 dollars after towing and the 149 dollar diagnostic. I would use them again for any MAJOR issue, but I'll never return for anything I even suspect is a minor repair. Nearly a thousand bucks for a battery seems excessive.

However the mechanic spot said the battery was fine and assured me it was the gas pump even though they checked the gas pump months prior and got a piece replaced then. Fast forward to now I've been driving a lot and realizing the same symptoms as before when I took my car there are starting to occur again showing that I need a new battery such as, faulty gas reading, not reading key fob, etc. Im sure the car will stop running if I don't change the battery soon. These were the reason the Mechanic Spot decided to change my gas pump instead of telling me to get a new battery. They pretty much extorted me out of 1000 dollars on parts my car didn't need, it just needed a new battery. They lied about car repairs that I didn't need and didn't solve the actual problem. Then held my car, giving me the wrong time for final pickup causing me to miss work and money I needed at the time. I tell this story to say this. They certainly live up to the name! After having the Lexus dealership tell me I need new brakes as well as Firestone, who charged me $46 to diagnose the car and quoted about $750 for the FRONT ALONE (after quoting half that over the phone), I went to Good Honest Mechanic thinking they could do the actual work for a reasonable price. After reviewing my vehicle, it turned out all my brakes are fine and no work was needed. They explained to me how they are at 5 millimeter and at exactly what number/range they start to recommend addressing them. This all lined up with what I read online as far as best practice for car brakes! Rather than try to take advantage of my ignorance and get $700+ like the other businesses, they told me upfront what the deal was and I appreciate that. Debbie at the front desk was nice to chat with also and provided me with updates on my vehicle. Zack and his team saved me from spending unnecessary money when I could really afford to.
