As someone from Fall River new to the area i was concerned to find a new fish spot this time of year. Gene's is going to be my go to spot! Just a medium take out order by my goodness it was so good! The fish was fried to order, it was fresh, flakey not greasy at all! The woman working was kind and it's cute inside. Definitely can sit down and enjoy your meal (came in a little too late to do so) but if you are looking for a fish spot this time of year you can have this meal here too! Three large pieces of fish, fries Cole slaw and tarter sauce, and they had a lot of to go orders as well as I waited only about 5 mins. Will be seeing you again!

Maybe ownership will see this after getting no response from an email address on the website. On Saturday August 2, I was going to the Portuguese festival with my wife. Encouraged by the proximity of Gene's, we left the festival and got to the parking lot. I pulled in at 759, doors were locked. Earlier in the day I made sure to check the website to make sure the restaurant was open, and it was until 9. Front door locked. Employee came to ask if I placed an order, I said no, he said because it was a slow evening they were closing early. I was in shock. Driving from Framingham to my favorite seafood restaurant with my wife. I was crushed. I asked the employee to respect the hours of operation and he just said to come back when we are open. Not a care. Granted, I am a creature of habit and will be back, when? Of course when they are open. Ownership should be more forthright in their contacting them on their website.

2 orders of Seafood platter with extra shrimp, extra clams instead cod.

I ordered 2 seafood platter with extra shrimp, extra scallops and extra clams instead cod. And small clam chowder, it came out to $92.00 That's insane . It looks like I only got an extra clams . I'm going to start making my own seafood platter for now on.

Worst chicken Patty sandwich EVER.... This sandwich was worse than Burger King, I was dry and not even real chicken breast. Absolute garbage which is where it went. If you feel like chipping a tooth and wasting your money on a flavorless embarrassment of a sandwich then by all means eat at genes. Their seafood is no better. Go to knuckleheads or enzone and skip this place

Clam strips, fish sandwich & clam chowder .

Best clam strips ever! Great fresh seafood. Loved it! Service was fast- great vibe in the restaurant. I hat I expect from a coastal fishing town.

What excellent seafood! I highly recommend the clamboil. It cannot be beat anywhere in the area. The clamcakes are outstanding too.

The food was delicious and definitely worth the stop. The food came out quickly and I sat outside at a shaded picnic table.

Seafood Platter was plentiful. Worth the price. However, I felt like all of the fried things were a bit greasy.

As a go to, you can't go wrong with the Reuben. I had to look under the buttery marble rye to convince myself that there wasn't bacon on it, but dang it's the so smoky and crisp pastrami that will fool you too. Honestly, tonight I ventured off the Reuben for the first time, BUT word was, from the local next to me munching on the Cubano that he calls da' bomb, he told me the cheesesteak is right in line with the rest of the offerings. Verdict: I don't know if the chef is a beer drinker but he plates a beer drinkers meal. First bite of the cheesesteak was a little bready, and I started thinking I should have stuck with the staples. Second bite changed everything. I'm not going into the gooey, orgasmic details, it was just phenomenal. The star of the show was the bread. The same bread that caused me hesitation on the first bite. Incredible. I'm coming back for every sandwich on the menu, and you should too!

The whole place has that genuine hometown vibe that's getting harder to find, plus consistently great live music (Sundays especially). It's on the smaller side, but they somehow pack the place without sacrificing service, which says a lot. When the weather warms up, they open up a large alley next to the pub for live music--and that's where this place really shines. On a crisp fall day? Forget about it... that's exactly where I want to be. Good food, good people, good music--what more do you need? Enjoy the good times ahead.

It also came piping hot...just the way I like it! The Cole slaw tasted home made. It wasn't heavy at all! We also got a quahog. It was pretty yummy. The quahog meat was just a bit chewy. I wish there were quarter stars because I would have given this a 4 and 3/4 rating had it not been for the bones I bit into in one of my pieces of fish. Otherwise, it was delicious and I will be back!

Clams, scallops, kale, bacon and onions in a creamy broth. It was yummy. And then came out our fish and chips. The fish was fresh with a thin batter- it was excellent. The fries and coleslaw were ok. The restaurant itself is on a little island and has waterfront seating even though it was too cold for us to sit outside. Our waitress was kind but not overly attentive. However, it didn't hinder our overall experience. We made a reservation and were sat immediately. The menu was large with many different options for cocktails, appetizers, pizza, sandwiches, and a variety of main courses. Most dishes are going to run you between $25-40. Everyone had the scallops tonight- I did the scallop and clams plate and my companions did some of the other scallop options. I was very happy with the scallops themselves- they were sweet and fried well. I wish there were more on the plate as I only had about 5-6 smaller scallops. The fries were great and nicely crispy. My only real complaint is the clams- they were not as crispy and a little on the blander side. For $33 I think the portion sizes could have been bigger as well. My friends all liked their dishes and I would definitely come back at another time to try some of their other dishes.
