Items missing from our car? A pair of prescription raybans and a pair of designer shoes, among other items of value. Desk staff were extremely dismissive, just a complete lack of professionalism. Not offerd any answers or help, but given a denying spree like a toddler. We mentioned odd details such as displaced items like floor pads being put back in place (in a clearly totald vehicle) very strange; raybans missing, but all my other sunglasses were present. Not to mention, both shoes missing, but all other item present before the crash were still clearly there. Either way, I'm deeply displeased with this company. Obviously when you are dealing with a tow company things aren't going good. My employee was involved in a serious motorcycle accident and I volunteered to help get his bike out of the impound yard. The old lady in Puyallup doesn't make anything easy. She had an attitude from the very beginning. I feel bad her life didn't turn out as planned but don't take it out on your customers. I was there to give them money but she wouldn't take a credit card... cash only. Last I checked credit cards were one of the safest ways for a business to take payment. It felt like she wanted to keep the bike there an extra day so she could collect another $75 in storage fees. On top of that if you come after 5:00 there's an additional fee to open the garage door to let you get your vehicle. IMO this is a predatory business that looks to take advantage of and financially gain off other people's already hard times. If I ran my business like this I probably wouldn't have a business. I understand rules but the service at Genes and particularly the front office lady are subpar at best. read more

Worse place to deal with!!! My truck was stolen yesterday and recovered this morning. They towed it to this placed. I called around 1:00pm and spoke to Tammy and verbally released it to be towed back to my home and that they had my permission to speak to my insurance company. I confirmed with Tammy that it would be towed back to my house 2x and that they will call me or my husband to let me know when it would be on the way. She stated yes and it was early in the day so they would have no problem doing this service today!!! I called my insurance company right after to let my claims adjuster know I spoke with the towing company and gave them my verbal consent to have it towed to my house and they can speak to them, my insurance. 5:30pm, I called my husband to see if the truck has been delivered and he hasn't seen or nor got a call. I called back to see the status. First woman wasn't sure and then I was passed to a man and told me, no it hasn't been towed and it won't be. I asked why and he told me, "you misunderstood her"! What?? How? I explained to him that I asked her to confirm and she did that 2x!! She even stated that everything was taken care of on my part and the truck would be towed to my house today! I even asked if they would call to let me know when it is on the way, which Tammy did! He responded, "I been here since 7am and I heard the conversation." I asked if he heard me when I asked her to confirm and she was going to call when it was on the way. He then told me I was wrong, he did not address when I asked if he heard me confirm with Tammy or if he heard me ask the questions because why would I ask to be called when the truck was on its way if I assumed it was all taken care of? Makes no sense besides they want to keep another vehicle in their yard to charge more money. He then told me they DO NOT provide that service. What service?? Towing??? I took another phone to start recording the conversation, I asked him for his name, he told me he was NOT giving his name to me! What???? I told him I wasn't being disrespectful or cursing. Why not let me know his name? What kind of customer service is this??? He kept talking over me then just said "have a good night" and HUNG UP on me!! Can you say "scam???" Tammy, if you are reading this, you know you told me it was taken care of and it was going to be towed back to my house! And you confirmed that you would call to let us know when the truck was on its way!!! I was home early today and my husband was home at 3pm. If I knew Gene's Towing was going to keep the truck to up our bill, (especially because it's a holiday weekend) I would have went to Gene's in person or my husband would have! And Tammy knew that because I even asked her if I needed to come down there in person. But she confirmed there was NO need because all they needed was a verbal consent to speak to my insurance, which she asked about my insurance information and consent to tow it to my home!!! My wife and I were amazed at the service of this company. We called for a tow and the young driver arrived promptly and determined our problem was a loose connection. He got our car started within 30 seconds, and refused payment. As seniors stuck without a working car we were ready to be taken advantage of, and well, we weren't! Hats off to the young man and the manager that hired him. Gene's towing is now on our emergency list as a vendor we can trust, and that is not a small thing. The tow company my roadside assistance called left me sitting by the side of the road for three hours. I called Gene's towing after i was told "another 45 minutes" for the 3rd time, and a friendly tow truck driver was there in less than 30 minutes. I wish I had known earlier that I could call my own tow truck and be reimbursed rather than wait on the company my insurance recommended. Driver charged me more than 50% above the quote because he "couldn't find me" exactly where I said I was.

I know you don't often have choice of where your vehicle is towed, I didn't as the police called this company after I was in an accident. But if you do have a choice definitely don't choose these guys; super rude. read more

Office staff is so incredibly rude right from the start with no regard to how she is treating the customer that her companies provides a service for. Honestly I'm appalled by this lady's attitude and the fact that she is still employed here. Never again will they get any customers from me. My review has nothing to do with the drivers, my review is in regards to the staff within the building, Mainly the face that 'doesnt' greet you when you walk in. The front desk lady is very rude, won't even get out of her chair to come to the counter to help you, and cuts you off over the phone like we are interrupting her day. She obviously has no people skills, and your rudeness in answering questions is uncalled for. I get it, you could possibly be dealing with rude customers, but thats the job you signed up for. But there are (like me) people that are confused and broken hearted from the circumstance that put our car/truck here in the first place. Shame on you....go find another job! read more

My situation was as follows: Our company truck broke down. My company generally requires an invoice for payment purposes. The tow company I usually use and have an account with, told me that we did not have the type of account needed for this type of service, and therefore, we could not get an invoice. My supervisor lives out of state, so I obtained photos of my supervisors card for payment, and called a different tow company per my instructions. They said they could take a credit card as payment. On scene, they then informed me that it needed to be a physical card, not a photo of a card, which admittedly, was my mistake for not being specific about that on the phone. I then called Gene's Towing, explained the situation in full detail. They asked me several questions, and I had a few hoops to jump through, but ultimately they said that they would be able to help me out. Once everything was approved and finalized, they sent a truck out my way, and he arrived on scene quickly. He was friendly, helpful, and fast. Further, the lady I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and helpful. I would happily use Gene's Towing again. Thank you for the great service, and helping when others would not. I ONLY gave this tow company one star because you can't give it negative stars. These people are "SCAM ARTISTS" They loaded my vehicle and took off after I had pulled up to the scene of the accident and said to the driver that the vehicle was mine and I needed him to wait until I could park and determine if I wanted it towed and where I wanted it towed too. But the driver took off with my vehicle anyway. I called the tow yard and was told by the lady that most people flag down the driver to give them information about what they want to do. I told the woman on the phone that I had done EXACTLY that and the guy still took off with my vehicle. Suddenly the woman on the phone was silent for a moment as she thought about how she was going to turn this around on me and then she began to blame me and tell me I was going to have to pay their fees but that I could come down and speak to her about it all. Yes, I lost it and began to scream at her as she attempted to talk over me. I told her, I have NO MONEY, NO CREDIT CARDS and I'm terminally ill so scamming me out of money wasn't going to happen. The woman then hung up on me. I then drove to the tow lot, where the driver was just unloading my vehicle. The driver started talking fees and hourly costs of $179 to take the vehicle where I wanted it to go and the storage charges etc.. I began yelling at him that I had not given him consent to even tow my car and he had taken off while I was trying to park. The driver claimed he had to leave because he was blocking traffic. I said you didn't have to leave and drive all the way back to the lot; he could have pulled off the road like all the other vehicles had, including the police cars and then I could have discussed what I wanted to happen with MY vehicle. Oh and by the way that dispatch woman that I talked to on the phone; she wasn't even there for me to talk to as she claimed she would be. The office was closed down, lights off and doors locked..................... Wasn't that convenient?!?! Gene's Towing is NOT a company I would willingly EVER use. They played a game and tried to scam me out of money. But in the end I paid them NOTHING and reported it all to my insurance company! read more

It would be nice if the debris and glass from yesterdays accident on 112th St near Canyon Road intersection wasn't left across three lanes of traffic. This is the second time this summer I saw Gene's towing respond to accident and made no attempt either times to clean it up??? Gene's towing really got me out of a jam yesterday! I had lost control of my car on the freeway ending up in a ditch, on my way to a birthday party. It being a Sunday witch is officially off duty hours a truck showed up within minutes of the call. After pulling me out they worked with me a broke college student, that has work in the morning to work with the situation I was in! And at the end of things I was able to drive my car to the party in time for dinner and cake. It was a God send and a blessing the Gene's towing was available on such sort notice to help! read more

I only gave one star so I could warn auction goers that the auctions are crooked. I was the highest bidder on a car and the owner who is also the auctioneer just stops the auction and writes his hand picked bidder's name down on the clip board for $5 more than my high bid. I threw a fit and the owner just said "We need to close this one."? Been going to auctions for years and never been treated so indignantly while being blatantly cheated. The people who's vehicles are auctioned off deserve the maximum amount of money their vehicle will fetch off of their bill. I would've bid $1000 higher and said so when the incident occured. Obviously the owner has arrangements with certain bidders or why would he stop the bidding at $1k when I'm standing their saying I'll go $2k? I'm not into standing out in the freezing cold all morning just so I can bid on whatever junk the owner's friends don't want... read more

We had a bad experience with this company. Terrible management. Manager did not respond to our calls. We are an owner of a building, where a car was towed by mistake and asked them reverse the money and return it to the tenant. They didn't respond to our calls, despite numerous attempts over several weeks. We left him a number of messages, especially to manager, who did call back. Very unprofessional. We would not recommend them for any towing services. Please do not hire them. We wanted to cancel our contract immediately. read more

My car was towed by them and kept in their yard overnight. The next day when it was picked up and Driven home I noticed it was smoking bad. when I check the oil there was no oil on the dip sick. The oil had just been changed two weeks earlier. There was almost 4 quarts of oil gone from the car. How did that happen overnight? Can't prove anything but have a good idea. read more

Watch out for genes towing not only do they overcharge for the impound fee and Storage they have to give a reasonable amount of protection of your vehicle even though they say they are not responsible for theft or fire the persons that you have to watch out for stealing are the employees of Gene's Towing themselves a friend of mine recently had his truck stolen and the Renton Police Department founded they called him at 3 a.m. wanting him to come get it and he couldn't so he had them impound the car inside the truck was his tools and a cut various other things does police officer told him they were there Gene's Towing happened to be the ones on rotation list at the moment so they got the toe when my friend went the next day to get his truck from Gene's Towing impound not only did they charge him $400 but his tools and every other personal belongings were stolen I was quite ironic did they are there when the police officer calls you their they're wearing jeans Towing picks up the vehicle because the police officer has to stay on site but when they make it back to Jeannie slot this stuff gets stolen out of it is gone out of his truck now I was told that the owner did the two who would be Mike Myers and I don't believe Mike Myers would steal the tools out of that vehicle but I know his to his employees what so all they wanted to do is knock off a little bit of the evening so he got a 3 if he got his impound fees knocked down to 320 I suggested to him looking into an attorney and suing them for all the costs pain and suffering all that because they legally have to take an inventory of the vehicle's contents so that they have proved it was there wasn't there they didn't and he did receive back one thing that date another employee had in a different vehicle inside the building not in his truck why was it there they claimed it was for safekeeping but it took him my friend 20 minutes of arguing before they finally gave it back then they try to make him feel like the bad guy because he left it in his vehicle don't use Gene's Towing read more
