What I appreciate most is that they never use pressure or scare tactics to push unnecessary repairs. They're honest, straightforward, and truly treat you like family instead of just another customer walking through the door. The mechanic said they didn't even put that on the courtesy inspection because all of the focus was on the headlight. So who's telling the truth here? I just said the timing is fishy and left because they had a look on their face not knowing why I would be upset. Brought in early on Friday morning, they ordered the part and gave me an 1100 (roughly) dollar estimate. Cam shaft sensors are not easy to get to, btw. They got the part in, got it fixed before the end of the day, and my bill was ~850 bucks. They didn't need to replace one of the sensors, and said to me, why spend the money if you don't need to. Respect that. If you get there early, you can generally wait a short time for simple stuff like oil change or junk. I just drop it off and pick it up after work. Muuuuuuccccccchhhhhh better than going corporate or dealer, by far!

My truck had 322,000 miles at the time. Fast forward to NOW: my truck started making strange noises, so I took it to nearby mechanic. They told me the water pump was leaking and the timing belt needed replacing. So I had my truck towed to my regular mechanic, who said the same thing--and even noted the parts looked like original factory components. That's shocking because I paid Tao Auto for this exact job three years ago! My truck now has 356,000 miles, meaning only about 25,000 miles since the repair. Major repairs like this typically come with an 80,000-mile warranty, so I called Tao Auto. The manager was unbelievably rude and dismissive, repeating that the warranty was only 12 months and insisting they used "good parts." No accountability, no willingness to even inspect the vehicle, nothing. As a paying customer, this is unacceptable. It makes me question whether the work was ever done properly--or done at all. This shop clearly does not value honesty or customer service. The manager's attitude and honesty is the reason my first visit was horrible, and it's the reason I'll never go back. When I called to ask about alternatives, they only reduced the price by $20. That felt excessive, so I decided to get a second opinion. I ended up going to NC Complete Auto Care, where the radiator fan was replaced for $881. They didn't charge for refilling the antifreeze and said the thermostat wasn't an issue and did not need to be replaced. They also let me know I could safely wait on the tires for a couple more months. I appreciated the transparency and will be taking my business there from now on. I can't recommend Cary Car Care based on my experience.

And why did they say the car was in queue to be worked on in the morning? I'm on my way out of town for a family emergency and this messed me up so badly. I've been calling all over to see if I could get a rush job on the work. Really terrible service and I will never go back here or recommend them. When I realize the date mistake I asked the guy who answered the phone if they could squeeze me in. He said: if someone who has an appointment doesn't show up or cancels we can get you in.
