I had a desperate morning this week - I woke up without coffee, tea, or any caffeine in the house. I was going to order my typical from a chain when Door Dash featured Genesis and this crazy blue concoction called a Cookie Monster Latte. Now, I am not a sweets person and I don't particularly love cookies... but it called, I answered and ordered, and it arrived it all it's blue swirly glory. This latte was DELICIOUS. This is a nice small place I've seen tucked in when I've been in the same shopping center. Soulfeast Week was a good opportunity for a first time go, plus I love jalapeños. It tasted great! Visited for the first time on a Saturday morning specifically to try the chicken & sweet potato waffle. There were three in my party and we all ordered the same thing. Despite us ordering one after another, our orders were ready at different times. My order came up first and I was finished by the time the last order was ready. The chicken and waffle were very good, but could've been better with just a few tweaks. The entree is served with one syrup and a side of whipped cream. Honestly, I would've preferred more syrup an butter in place of the whipped cream. The chicken was deliciously cooked to perfection! It was crispy and well seasoned. The chicken (3 wings) perfectly complimented the sweet potato waffle. The waffle was light and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. The serving size filled me up and left me completely satisfied. I made a point to look over the full menu while we were there and they have a vast variety of menu options ranging from breakfast to lunch options and of course a selection of coffees and lattes. Not my first time, I used to live & worker closer. Since I moved, I almost forgot about this place. But we happened upon on the search for a quick & late lunch. Great service! 10/7/23 My husband and I came here for coffee after church on Sunday morning. We arrived excited to try a new coffee shop. My husband ordered the camp fire breve and I had their house blend with lavender syrup. The drinks came out quickly and we took them to go. Bad service - very slow and didn't give us the right food. At 10am they are out of potatoes... and are having a shift change so they can't handle having 2 customers pretty tough look for a business. They also gave us the wrong coffee but we just wanted to get outta there so we didn't ask to change. Genesis also did not offer us a refund for not having the potatoes that we ordered. Really poor quality stuff. read more

The inside of this place is adorable. Super clean and pleasantly decorated. It's quite cozy, but there are several tables and benches to sit and work at. The barista was so friendly! I went in to order a hazelnut latte, but she recommended i try their Nutty Professor latte, which is chocolate+hazelnut, topped with whip and two nutter butter cookies- i couldn't resist. An Inviting and warm atmosphere. The music is nice. The seating; lighting and decor is simple and comfortable. I could have lingered for hours. The ladies at the counter were very welcoming, kind and patient as I study the menu. The menu has the usual coffee house offerings, breakfast sandwiches, coffee varieties (hot and cold), cold and hot tea varieties, baked goods and sandwiches. I had an iced mocha coffee and it tasted as good as any I have had. The breakfast sandwich was perfect. The croissant was warm, buttery and toasted to slight crunchy just they way I like it. The sausage and fried egg presentation and preparation were "textbook." It was tasty, too. I'm glad i was introduced to this wonderful establishment. I'm really glad I found this place! I have driven past genesis coffee a handful of times without even knowing it was there but I sure am glad I found it. Other reviews mentioned how welcoming the environment is, and after reading those I was still shocked at how welcoming it actually was when I walked in. The woman behind the counter was extremely kind and the food was amazing. Everything was very fairly priced and the food was prepared quickly but thoroughly. I needed to land somewhere and work for several hours today and this place was perfect. I started my morning with a cappuccino and a ham, egg, and cheese croissant. They were both spot-on. At lunch I had the pimento cheese sandwich and it was also wonderful. Be sure to give the Sunrise drink a try if you're looking for a citrus pick-up. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I saw this place advertised for Lexington coffee week and wanted to try one of their speciality lattes. The staff is extremely friendly, but my order had a few mistakes (wrong coffee entered into system, my coffee didn't have the milk substitute I requested, & my sandwich came with the wrong meat on it). Another customer behind me also had some issues with her order being inaccurate. The coffee and food were good despite the discrepancies and I think this place has potential. It would be nice if they moved to a larger location in the future that could serve as a study/work spot because at the moment it's not set up for more than eating and chatting. read more

I've worked in coffee shops for years and while I normally live on just espresso, I love a good specialty drink and Genesis is the BEST! I usually come for the Butterscotch Blondie (which is probably the best blonde drink I've ever had - consistently), but the white pumpkin chai latte is making its way into my favorites as well! My husband absolutely loves the white chocolate bliss which is great because he is so picky about his white chocolate mochas. Aside from fantastic drinks they also have great sandwiches.
