Mark is a Con Artist! He will talk nice and joke with you and your family during the initial review! He will say he's been doing this for 35 years to make you feel comfortable! But in real life he and his older wife and some shady looking guy will show up to do the work! He was supposed to dig down to the foundation of my home, which caused for a bobcat!!! These people actually had nothing but shovels!!! And when I left to run to the store, they magically finished everything while I was gone for 30 minutes and covered up the "Work" they had done with dirt leaving me no way to inspect anything!!! 2 weeks later my basement is flooded again!!! When we put our home up for sale, the home inspector noted (incorrectly) that there was mold in our laundry room and the buyers requested we replace the floor, subfloor, and treat for bio-growth. Mark came out determined the discoloration on the hardwoods was just from the water and was not mold. He noted there was a single floor joist that had some minor growth and gave me the information to treat it myself. My husband and I consulted with Mr. Baim 2 years ago at a house we rented that had mold. He was prompt to give us a free inspection and estimate. He showed up dressed professionally and was polite. He emailed us a detailed plan and costs. We did not use him at the time as the real estate company did not want to deal with the issue. We are now buying a home that we knew had a mold issue in the basement. We once again called him to come and do an inspection and to get a quote. Upon inspection he stated in his quote that due to mold in the basement, there are mold spores throughout the entire house. He identified visible mold in the basement on the floor joists, sub-floors, braces, etc. in the basement/garage area. He stated there was mold under the stairwell as well as mold on the sheetrock walls and in the closets in the basement area. His recommendation was to vacuum with a HEPA filter vacuum system, apply a mold removal/disinfectant solution to all the surfaces and wipe clean. Then to fog the entire house/HVAC system with an anti-microbial solution. His spoken words to us were that this process would kill off all of the mold in the house. During the inspection in the room with all of the sheetrock he broke off a piece near a window and said the sheetrock was good. He did not actually remove any sheetrock where you could visibly see the mold. We hired him to do the mold remediation. I arrived after he was almost done. I expected to see a company van with equipment and men dressed in some type of protective clothing. No, Mr. Baim and a young man dressed in overalls arrived in his personal vehicle with all they used in the trunk of his car. What they used were products anyone can buy at Home Depot. They were not wearing any protective clothing. He said we could start moving our stuff in the next day. We started painting the interior and cleaning. After a few days I started smelling mold again and my lungs started to hurt. My husband had told him I was allergic to mold and very sensitive. We determined it was in the rooms with sheetrock that the smell was coming from. We realized that it had to come out. So, my husband, who had open heart surgery and a recent mini stroke spent 3 days tearing out all of the sheetrock and breathing the toxic spores. We had to rent a roll off dumpster and hire 2 men to come and clear it out and put into the dumpster. Mr. Baim's response to my husband when asked if he would come back and respray just that area, was that his 5 year 100% transferrable warranty did not cover mold he could not see. He was not going to respray. Imagine he said this while working at a good friend of mines house that I referred him to. Here he was making over $5,000 from a referral I gave him and he refused to correct this. I feel that he is the 'mold expert' and should have identified that the sheetrock needed to be removed before he performed remediation. I called my friend to tell her (he was at her house working) to please check his work and to make sure she understood his 'warranty'. I texted him that I was extremely disappointed with his response to my husband and that he should have told us that the sheetrock needed to be removed. I also said that I was sorry I recommended him to someone I cared about and I prayed he would not do her any disservice. He called me and promptly started screaming at me over the phone, saying he has never had a bad review in all his years and then started blaming my husband for his mistake. He claimed my husband stated that he didn't have any plans to remove the sheetrock. Well, no you wouldn't... unless a 'mold expert' told you it needed to be removed. Unfortunately, we have to move into this house in 6 days and we now have a dumpster full of moldy sheetrock that reeks of mold and a basement that reeks of the mold from pulling it down and dispersing the mold spores throughout. He has put our entire move in jeopardy and his response was to scream at me over the phone. Any one so concerned about their business reputation would have made things right by just respraying the area that we did all of the work in after we paid him over $2,000 to vacuum and spray chemicals from Home Depot. We were not asking for anything extraordinarily out of the way. I have never, and I mean never, been treated so rudely by a business owner in my life. I will never recommend him to anyone again. If I can give above 5 out of 5 score- I would for this company. Great service and highly recommended. I had a water leak over the winter and wanted to make sure there were mold build up prior to a paint job. I live in south side - Newnan. Mark drove all the way down and checked it out. After all, no mold was build. He gave me an instruction for paint job and did not change me for test fee or drive fee. Easy to communicate over the e-mail and text/phone call.
