I really tried to love the cut but my curls weren't having it and I was so nervous about asking for an adjustment but they made me feel so comfortable and got me in the next day to carve into my layers some more and they were so professional and accommodating. The initial stylist was also great and I love the head massage while they wash your hair. I'm just so grateful they listened to why the cut wasn't working and adjusted it for my hair type. Disappointed with my haircut…read more.. Now, I'm the type of person that will only go to the hair salon once a year, just because I haven't been able to find a hairstylist that I like. Every SINGLE time I show them an inspiration picture & tell them what I want, it never comes out to the way that I want it. I ended up finding a hairstylist at this salon, (I don't want to disclose her name because she was a sweetheart), through TikTok, and this individual was raving about how they fly out of state just to come to Hawaii to get a haircut from her. I also liked that it looked like a high-end, upscale salon, and that you get complimentary drinks (coffee). The hair salon is tucked away in ward, and it's a smaller shop connected to a barber shop. It's beautiful, luxurious, & very clean inside, which I appreciated. Let's talk about the hair washing.... My scalp really needed some tlc...however, when my hairdresser was washing my hair, it was VERY painful. The massage did not feel relaxing or enjoyable at all, and was actually excruciating, as my hair was being consistently pulled out of my scalp, even after the fact I told her I have hair loss. My scalp ended up hurting the following day. I just didn't have it in me to tell her this, so I kept it to myself. I showed her inspiration pictures of what I wanted, and they did NOT come out how I wanted it to be at the all. I also told her that I have to keep my hair long, because I always wear it up for work, and that I wanted it to my waist. Now, I have to use bobby pins for my hair because there are bunches of hair that is too short in the front. On top of that my hair is to my chest.... so probably about like 5 inches too short. I had long, unhealthy hair, that really needed a trim but I did not want my hair to be this short. I feel like I look like the berries and cream guy, (which might be a little dramatic, but this is how upset I am). I wanna cry, and this is exactly why I stay away from hair salons. So now, I'm contemplating if I want to spend $600+ for hair extensions, just because I hate it this much, and I can't even look at it when it's down. On top of that, I did not receive a complementary drink, nor was I offered one so I'm disappointed about that too. It's safe to say that I'll probably be waiting another year or longer to get back to the length that I want it to be. I won't be coming back to this salon unfortunately.
