It didn't improve. Dr. Lavi fit me in to his schedule. He took xrays and told me this was not an infection. He simply rounded off the sharp edge of the tooth, and I immediately felt better. I have to say it was not only his diagnosis and willingness to fit me in, it was his manner, his care, his interest. In a world where we are rushed from one thing to the next; in medicine where doctors have no time to pay attention to the peson in the office, being in Dr. Lavi's office was a completely different experience. He was warm, clearly cared about what happened. He even followed up with me, sent me pictures of the xrays for my dentist at home. I live in Maine and was visiting my son. Not only did all the assistants make me feel super comfortable, they made sure I was calm and okay the whole time before beginning the extractions. Once the procedure began, Dr. Henao talked me through everything to make sure I knew everything was going well. I did not feel a thing the whole procedure besides some occasional pressure that was already expected (not bad at all). Since then, Dr. Henao has been very responsive with any question I have post recovery. I cannot thank Dr. Henao and all his wonderful assistants any more. Previous Review: I highly recommended being cautious if you choose to do business with Encino Dentistry. Hopefully my shared experience can better inform your decision making on finding a dentist that is reliable and can meet your needs. I will list a few reasons as to why I gave this place one star. Starting off with the service. I called one day to make an appointment since my tooth was hurting. Keep in mind I had somewhere to be that day and wasn't planning on coming in. As I was on the phone trying to make an appointment, the receptionist had insisted on me coming in that hour to look at my teeth. I had explained how I didn't have time and that I wanted to come a different day, especially since the pain was manageable. But she was adamant with me coming in that day. So I prioritized my health over my other plans and stopped by to get my tooth checked out. When I got in the people were nice and took care of me. They did some x-rays, and even took a 3D image of my teeth. After getting my teeth checked, the doctor had explained how I should get a filling.No biggie, I just had to call them when I was ready to make an appointment for this service. The next day I looked at the service charged on my insurance and there were multiple charges of different x-rays that my insurance didn't cover. I'm no dentist but I didn't see a point of doing all sorts of different x-rays to assess my one tooth. For me it felt unnecessary and expensive. As I continued looking at the charges I noticed that I was charged for the 3D model of my teeth. At the moment of getting the 3D model I didn't think much about it, all they said was to open up and then they put the wand in my mouth to make the image. I don't think they thought once about me as a patient but rather it felt like they were trying to take advantage of the situation by doing a bunch of extra x-rays that I didn't exactly need as a way to increase their profit. The next day I called the receptionist and asked her about the charges. I was also charged an emergency service charge since I came in that day despite me wanting to come in another day. So, after explaining the situation the receptionist took off the emergency charge but I was still left having to pay a couple hundred for the x-rays they took that day. I explained how I was confused why they took a 3D image if they weren't making crowns or molds that would require a 3D model of my teeth, and the receptionist proceeds to tell me that I'm not getting crowns and how she was confused about my questions. All I was trying to do was understand the charges that were made, and she stated to get frustrated at my questions. So l asked if I could come in to talk with the doctor. She then explains how I have to make an appointment in order to do so. So I asked if it's free and she said that it would be $100 to speak with the doctor about the x-rays and charges. This was ridiculous to me given that I wanted to better understand the service they did. Overall, this situation felt like they took advantage of my situation leaving me paying for services that I still don't know why were done. To add to this, I did some further investigation and came across the Better Business Bureau, which is a non profit that accredits businesses. When looking at there business profile it read BABY STROLLERS. I don't I don't know what this means but it seems off. The point of all this is to just caution you from getting scammed like I was. Proceed with caution when getting services done here!
