Dr. Hedvat is nice, and a straight shooter. I am not sure he knows he has a sense of humor, but he makes me laugh. Dolores, the hygienist - well, she is amazing. I let her know that I am very sensitive to the epi when I am there for the deep cleaning, and she conquers it, and allows me to be epi free with minimal discomfort. She's gentle, kind, and funny. Overall, I enjoy the professionalism of Smile Care. I can have Dr. Hedvat do my annual care, and within that, he has a care team prepared for all your oral care needs.

He took time to examine my gums and thoroughly explain to me what a gum graft was and why he recommended it, along with what I should expect during the procedure and the recovery. Maggie, his receptionist, also thoroughly explained to me what to expect and recommended a few things to make me more comfortable during the procedure (e.g. comfy clothes and a zip-up sweater so I don't get cold, etc.). The procedure went smoothly - Dr. Abelson and his assistant Maria did a great job and were very professional. They did a great job numbing the area so I didn't feel any pain while he was working. The whole procedure took about an hour, and I had a couple of follow up visits to make sure that it was healing properly. A great experience - would recommend!

I need my widow teeth out URGENTLY (all 4 are impacted) and I made an appointment with them. Initially they gave me a price and I informed them I already had the necessary X-rays for the procedure; they said they'd see and let me know if it would be less later if I still needed another and would need to pay MORE. So I scheduled my appointment and went hopes for the best but when I got there they still tried to make me pay for X-rays and I had to inform them again my dentist had already sent them over and they HAD received them. After this they wanted to schedule my surgery (pre-approval). I asked to wait to schedule until approval because they told me if pay $2,000+ and then based on IF it was approved they'd reimburse me. I said no thanks I would just wait cause they informed me it'd be a max of 8 weeks. After over 2 months I sent them several messages via their online website messenger asking to see if it was approved to schedule because I was in so much pain. They didn't bother getting back to me on any of those requests. After that I tried calling and asking if it was approved and they told me NO. When I asked if it'd be possible to check because it'd been so long they told me no and they weren't gonna call or pursue it. They told me to contact my insurance and blamed them. When I called my insurance they informed me that it was approved THE SAME DAY. They also sent them over the information and verified the surgery center had made no effort to contact them after submitting. After this I tried to inform the doctors I had seen about the issues and refusal to help with an APPROVED CLAIM and got no call back or anything. But can't expect much when they also informed me they don't document the calls they take (the secretary was kind enough to inform me, since they didn't log the MULTIPLE calls I made trying to get this appointment because I was in pain. Dr Wasserstein is literally the only one who did not want me to keep my teeth even though my hygiene is excellent and they are still in place. Multiple dentists have commented on the fact that I have good pocket depth and low mobility and in spite of my bone loss and recession I juggle multiple health issues and have worked very hard to keep my teeth, but all he had was needless negativity. He said "I'm not a fan" with regards to my keeping them instead of just getting implants right away. And he offered no actual reasons as to why he was pushing me to get implants when they aren't needed at the moment. He certainly would have profited, while I would have had to go through surgery before needing it. The hygienist took 30 minutes and did not do a deep cleaning. She used a water tool and scraped for less than 15 minutes. I addressed this with the hygienist and she said I wasn't scheduled for a deep cleaning today and also that my teeth were "fine" so this was the end of my session. Previously at my initial cleaning, the hygienist said preferred to use the water tool over hand scraping as it hurt her hand. Today I felt a bit of callousness from the hygienist and figured she didn't like to scrape, hence she never asked me how I was doing during the cleaning or checked on my comfort level. Now I see she was annoyed that she had to scrape my teeth when she thought I did not have an appointment. I made this appointment at my last cleaning and was told that Wednesdays are best if I wanted to be treated by the hygienist. I cleared my work schedule for an hour and a half today so I could get a true cleaning at 9am. The office staff (lady) was kind, very apologetic and wanted to correct this, but there was nothing to resolve. If there was an error with this appointment, then I should have been told this when I checked in and should have been told that I was not going to receive a deep cleaning. The staff also did not make me pay the co-pay as it was not a deep cleaning. The staff overall are kind and warm, but I won't be going back to this office.
