I dropped off everything - photos, centerpieces, prizes, cake - the day before. Jake and his crew came out to my car and unloaded everything. My nursing association had our Christmas party here at this venue and what a time it was! The party pants cocktail was great and the food was pretty good. We had Italian wedding soup, bread, salad, parmesan butter noodles, Italian sausage, Italian seasoned chicken (which was a little dry), potatoes, Italian steak, and green beans. Everything was served family style. Ironically my favorite was the wedding soup and bread. And the made-in-house cannolis were exceptional ! We had a small bridal shower here. From the beginning stages, the staff were extremely helpful. They were able to accommodate many food allergies that we had. Had my father's celebration of life on what would have been his 90th birthday. They had great food and service. They were accommodating, and explained how those types of gatherings normally went. I used Genetti's for catering after attending a few events there. I have to say they made the whole experience easy and stress free! From coordinating how much food, to the ease of pickup, to the quality of the food- everything was great. I spoke to many employees there and everyone was equally friendly, and did not make my catering questions seem stupid. The food comes hot and they provide chafing dishes if needed. They load your car when you arrive and pack it so nothing spills in your car. Their prices are sooo reasonable for the amount of food. I often walk by Genitti's in downtown Northville but never had a reason to enter until I came here for a college alumni event. Genitti's is mainly used as an event space for large groups. The food is served family style for the entire table. The food is good, but I also thought it was wasteful to have so many leftovers thrown away. I hate food waste. I wish they offered takeaway containers for the leftovers that had not been touched. This is review about the facility event space not the restaurant. Do not book with this venue. I gave a deposit in person 6 months before our event to reserve the front room for a bridal shower. I confirmed everything as required (gave final count, confirmed the decorations). They also confirmed all the relevant info when they called to check in a couple days before the event. When we arrived on the day of the event, they had everything set up in the basement, not in the room we reserved. They would not let me talk to the manager before the event, and then they avoided me afterwards (they were 'unavailable' even when I offered to wait). I did receive a partial refund for the cost of the event from another staff member, but the manager still wouldn't talk to me about it. I never got an explanation about why the room changed without notice. It caused unnecessary stress with the decor, set up, and the bride was especially excited about the room we initially reserved and was really disappointed. We made it work but I was highly frustrated and confused and would not recommend this place for an event to anyone. read more

Our conference group feasted on a multi-course belly busting Italian meal of Wedding Soup, breadsticks, antipasto salad, pasta with white sauce, baked chicken, pork steaks, roasted red skin potatoes, sausage and peppers, green beans and cannoli! One interesting observation was that the dining room walls were COVERED with names of the guests across the years written in Sharpies. Of course, we added ours but let me tell y, it was tough to find an open space. After dinner, we walked over to the theater and saw a performance of "Medium Madness" an interactive screwball comedy murder mystery. We were invited to Genitti's for my dear friend's rehearsal dinner. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the food and service. We were greeted warmly upon entering with another bridesmaid and her husband and were directed downstairs to join the rest of the party. Be careful on the steps, especially if you're in heels -- they're pretty narrow and steep! We all made it without incident and sat down at a table with the bride and groom. The inside is nicely decorated (even the downstairs) and our room featured an attractive bar. The cocktail menu we were given was extensive and inventive! Lots of yummy sounding drinks (even to me, who doesn't drink much) in addition to standard wine and beer offerings. Service was excellent all night. Very prompt with drinks and food, polite and friendly, direct and helpful. They even brought us a lot of boxes to bring some food back to the hotel where lots of folks were staying since a good handful of people were unable to make it to the rehearsal in time because of flight/traffic delays. Crazy weather weekend! The family style meal was tasty and the offerings were diverse. Italian wedding soup, fresh breadsticks, salad, sausages and peppers, baked chicken and green beans, fettuccine alfredo, breaded steak and potatoes, and cannoli for dessert! My favorite items included the wedding soup and the nicely seasoned, crispy potatoes. I tried both a raspberry cocktail and a tea/lemonade cocktail. I forget the details but they were both enjoyable, with my preference going to the raspberry drink. My complaints are very minor, but just so you get the whole picture, here they are: Lots and lots of food -- enough for multiple servings of almost everything if one was inclined -- but only one cannoli per person for dessert, at least at our table. I definitely could've and would've eaten another one, haha, since I didn't eat a ton of protein and therefore wasn't stuffed. It gets super loud super fast in the basement. At times, it was a little hard to hear each other and make conversation without speaking very loudly, which only made things louder. I was pretty overstimulated by the end. And last, for me personally, I was pretty hot. So just FYI, don't come in a sweater like me, or if you do, come in layers so you can disrobe as you get warmer. This could definitely be my mistake as I'm most assuredly an out-of-towner and don't know the protocol for clothing in Michigan in January, haha. :) Overall though, we very much enjoyed our night at Genitti's, and would recommend them at least as guests for any dinner party type of need! read more

Exceeded many expectations! We went for the dinner and show program. I am somewhat of a food snob and my normal experience with these events is that you'll get adequate food and an adequate show, but not excellence in either dimension. I was pleasantly surprised. From the start, the servers work as a single big team, so you never wait long for attention. And boy, did they hustle! A 7 course family style dinner! I am usually not a big salad fan but found the salad great, primarily due to very fresh ingredients. It may also make a difference that it's prepared inhouse. A simple pasta; sausage and onions; pork schnitzel; green beans; and a cannoli! I'd give the food an A- compared to a typical Italian restaurant, especially for the price. The show was written in house with a lot of tongue in cheek humor. It was also fun that they had half a dozen audience members participate. When introducing each audience member, they asked for their town and line of work; and the cast put in occasional humorous improv's based on these! So, a great evening. I came here with a date for the dinner theater show, and it was such a fun experience! It came with a several course meal (shared with your table family style) with the option for refills. We were stuffed at the end! My favorite was the pasta: it was al dente and creamy, yet not too greasy or heavy. I also loved the wedding soup, the Italian "steak" (pork cutlet) with roasted potatoes, the warm breadsticks, and the cannoli for dessert. The staff are all super friendly and attentive. The place was clean, and there's just a really nice ambiance inside. The show itself was hilarious. It was a murder mystery and I was cracking up the whole time! The actors were talented and they even recruited people from the audience to help out (thankfully they didn't pick me...lol)! I was invited here recently for a holiday party. From the outside Genitti's appears like a very unassuming/ordinary Italian American restaurant. Once you get past the bar and side tables you will make a left to notice two large rooms for bigger parties. One of them has a stage where the staff perform live shows, which I did not expect. But before that we got to enjoy a nice Italian dinner, which consisted of the classics. The menu was obviously pig heavy, so I didn't picture the sausage and pork steak that was offered. The chicken however was a winner. Very juicy inside and crispy outside. Cannoli is amazing, as well as the penne. The wedding soup and salad were very good, albeit kinda basic. This place is definitely a hit for special or celebratory occasions. The staff are just so sweet and hospitable, and make everyone feel like family. read more

Highly recommend for a 30-40 person event that includes dinner and a show! A 5-course meal was provided to us in a very lovely family atmosphere. It literally felt like we were part of a huge Italian family Sunday dinner. As we ordered from a holiday drink menu, more and more food was brought out to us by cheerful wait staff. They also had special dishes for me, as I'm gluten free (be sure to let them know in the beginning of the feast). We were originally dreading the live show following dinner because a food coma was setting in but it was an absolute delight and pretty humorous. Food: I can only speak of the gluten free food but everything we had was delicious. I think our favorite was the chicken. We couldn't stop eating! Drinks: They have a few flavors of white claws and trulys. Domestic beers were on the list as well. But the big hit were the holiday boozy hot chocolates and coffees. Attire: Casual is pretty appropriate, I'd say. It is winter at this time so a nice sweater or button down and jeans is perfect. It's a nice establishment so take some pride in your outfit Parking: there's street parking but it's on the corner in downtown Northville so that can be tricky. I surprised my husband with a visit here on 6/3/22 for dinner and the mystery theater as a pre- birthday celebration. I love the decor in the building. The staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating! Staff made sure that we were well taken care of I consideration of my dietary restrictions. I really felt taken care of with their attentiveness!!!! You get plenty of food to eat. I really loved the bread and the pasta. The show was funny and corny... (I laugh at corny jokes) lol! Let me start off by admitting that I thought I sent in my review for Genitti's last October so I APOLOGIZE to the world for not letting you know sooner that you need to RUN, not walk to Genitti's for all of your event needs. My wedding was held on October 15 of 2022 and Laura and the entire staff made everything so easy. There was absolutely not one ounce of stress in my body. Laura made sure my drink was always full and that my heart was happy. I didn't get to even eat dinner too much because obviously everyone wanted a photo with the bride. She packed up a few to go containers, one being completely filled up with just pasta and you know what I did after my wedding? Ate pasta in my hotel bed- the entire container because not only is the service absolutely phenomenal, the food is hearty and made with love. From top to bottom, this facility shines. I have never felt so welcomed and taken care of for an event that I did here. If I could, I would work here part-time just because of the immaculate vibes it gives off. We are going to be returning soon for another dinner theater and now my best friend is holding her baby shower here. Came here on not so great circumstances, after my Aunts funeral, but was very pleased with this place. It is very unique when you walk in, writings all over the walls so it was interesting to see how far back some of the signatures went. Wish I brought a sharpie to write my own name, maybe next time. The staff was great and very respectful with our family which we really appreciated in such a hard time. The food was great too. I especially enjoyed the Italian wedding soup and dipping my bread into it. Im also a sucker for some good green beans and could not get enough of them here. Came in this past weekend for the second bridal shower in the last year that I've attended here. I've never actually been here for a regular meal but I would be interested to try it out! This bridal shower was in one of the back smaller rooms, and it was just adorable. The set up was great, the service was just fabulous and the food couldn't have been better! About a year ago I was at another shower in the basement which is also very cute. The service was also fantastic. It was a bit cold the air kept turning on really strong. This shower was not as cute, they had red checkered table cloths out and they just did not match what was going on with the rest of the decor they brought, so I thought that was unfortunate. Just to get it out of the way, their chairs are about as worthless as gum on a boot heel. Extremely uncomfortable, BUT they do have pillows, you just have to ask for one. Now that the unpleasantness is out of the way.... I must say we had an absolute blast at this place. Everything is set up in a family style theme, including sitting at the same table as strangers if your party is smaller than 8, as well as when they serve the set menu for the evening. The food was okay, they were great on any additional servings as needed, although they will NOT give you a second helping of the dessert, very displeasing because the cannoli's were exquisite. The show was comical and had some amusing characters. The ambiance had a home town type feel although the noise was a tad loud. I think they need to invest in some sound panels in the theater room, because the noise bounces all over the place. Genitti's did an incredible job hosting my wedding dinner on November 7. We decided to change the dinner from inside to outside the day before and they pulled it off so well. It was beautiful. I gave them flowers and decorations and they set it all up for me which takes a lot off of the bride. I loved their champagne punch. I also felt their food was amazing too. You get a 7 course Italian feast and they follow COVID guidelines with serving and mask wearing. Laura was incredible and so accommodating. I did not have to give final numbers until the day before which is so helpful during a pandemic because things change daily.
