First time. My wife and I got the BBQ chicken pizza and Pan Seared Fish. Food was ok. Not bursting on the flavor side. Pizza was BBQ sauce on toasted bread. Fish was saved by the cream sauce. Service was fast and friendly tho. We will come back and try something else. read more

First thing is that I really wanted to write this review, but things have been so hectic with the holidays that I have finally found the time now. First off, I want to say that the food was amazing...we had a party of four. I had the pan seared readfish that normally came with rice, but my server (we will get to him later) suggested that I substitute the rice for grits and add shrimp. I took his suggestion and I must say that it was phenomenal. My husband was torn between the pork chops and beef stuffed potato and the server suggested pork chops while describing the seasoning put on them and letting him know that he could also substitute the side items, he kept the mashed potatoes and our server asked if he wanted them loaded, to which we said yes. Then he told my husband to try the turnip greens because they accent the starch and meat (where did y'all get this guy) Our friends ordered the seafood pasta and chicken dinner and everyone was satisfied. Now to our server. His name is Will and wherever you got this guy, you should go back and get some more. It was busy (and once being a server myself, I knew his section was probably full) but he greeted us with such positive energy that we enjoyed him more than the meal. He made us feel welcome and you can tell that he was geniune. He stayed on top of refills, asked and brought condiments before food. Despite it being busy, he still found time to engage with our party and make the whole dining experience enjoyable. Well, I wanted to like it. Went for late-ish lunch about 1 o'clock with my wife and another couple. I wanted the Tuna Poke but when the server came to take the order I was told it was not available. So while I tried to make a quick decision everyone else ordered. 1 pan sautéed redfish on risotto, 1 barbecued shrimp & grits. Wife ordered the "pulled bacon" cheeseburger without a bun (Keto diet). I just went for the lunch special which was a flatbread andouille sausage pizza. Wife added a salad with oil & vinegar and I was told the pizza came with a salad. Plus 3 iced teas and 1 club soda. What arrived was the redfish which looked good and the shrimp & grits which was OK looking but contained maybe 5 medium shrimp. Wife got a a ground beef patty with a slice of Swiss cheese (we never did figure out what the 'pulled bacon' thing was all about. No bun (as ordered) but no anything else either. No lettuce, no tomato, no nothing including no sign of the salad. So the server promised to go and get the burger fixings and the salad. The biggest disappointment was the pizza. It was not anything like what I expected. It was just an ordinary rectangular 8"x10" piece of standard food-service pizza dough covered with what looked and tasted like Prego jarred sauce. Topped with six quarter-sized coins of what tasted like polish sausage but if it was indeed andouille they need to fire their meat purveyor. If there was cheese I didn't see or taste it. I have had much better pizza from Domino's and I've even had some frozen pizzas that were at least as good. Our server came back finally with wife's salad but the dressing was some kind of very sweet something. Cheap balsamic maybe? I don't really know. The burger condiments never did show up and I was told that the pizza special didn't include a salad after all. No big loss. The bill comes to $70. Mind you that is with no wine or bar service at all. So with tip (it's not the server's fault, she seemed to be really trying) it $85. Not nearly worth it. Not going to repeat. I love this place and I'm glad we have it in BRANDON. I ordered the meatball sandwich and it was best I've ever had. Brought half home to my son, it was so big ! The sweet tea was perfect! Returned here for dinner with some friends a few weeks later. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi. It was ok, I had 5 large shrimp on my dish. It was like eating shrimp with linguine pasta covered in marinara sauce. Probably will not order it again. Plus the fact that I had no spoon to twirl the pasta on which made it hard to eat. My husband ordered the Sous Bide Lamb Chops which was served with mashed potatoes. He said he would get it again, it was good and to his liking however, he wished he had a steak knife to cut the chops. I don't eat lamb chops but I thought they were supposed to be tender.?! Our friends ordered the Fried Chicken Salad (and they have the best fried chicken!) and the BBQ Shrimp and Grits. The shrimp and grits only had 4 shrimp on the plate, other than that it was delicious. And well a salad is a salad, it was a large salad and very good. All in all it was a good meal minus a few details. Servers were very friendly and atmosphere is good. Brandon much needed a restaurant of this caliber! read more

The only reason we are giving a 3 is because the most of the food was delicious, but the service was poor- 1 star. I know restaurants are struggling to be staffed, but the wait times didn't even bother us. It was the lack of good service. Most of the time it doesn't bother me if a server and/or kitchen gets my order wrong because everyone is human and makes mistakes. However it does bother me when you don't fix it. When we first got there they seated us all the way I the back where there was no music and no atmosphere. We asked to move and they moved us. I ordered the lamb and the sides came out cold. I love that there is a place in downtown Brandon but it is over priced for sure. We won't be going back. read more

The last 2 visits we had to leave because the hostess was not at the front & we stood there for almost 10 minutes before being seated, & then after being seated we waited another 10 minutes and no one came to take our order. Take Out Review: Upon arrival, we were greeted with our food without our drinks. Five minutes later when we sat down to eat our food, we discovered that not only our meatballs were raw, but also all of our drinks were unsweet when we ordered sweet tea. Workers were not very accommodating as well, talking amongst themselves instead of helping other customers, and seemed annoyed with us for asking for our drinks. GB was overall a good experience and really good food. It would have been an easy five stars except while we were there the service was slow. For what we paid I would have liked a larger selection of sides and better service. two of us were seated near a large loud group, do it was hard to hear. We stopped in on the way home to Louisiana from Alabama. I saw the five star reviews and felt confident we would enjoy our late lunch. It was a really cute place! My son and I really wanted pizza, so we ordered the flatbread pizzas which also included salads. My husband got the the burger. The pizzas came out at room temperature without the salads. It tasted like the flatbread was pre toasted and the toppings just added and warmed. There was supposed to be basil on mine and I couldn't find any. There was no seasoning in the sauce. My husband's burger was very juicy but tasted like there was no seasoning or salt added either. The fries were hot and fresh. This place has great potential, I don't know if we stopped in on a "lazy" day but it could have really been so much better. Note-The bakery items next door were yummy. read more

The night started with the big guy up front making conversation with his mask down below his unshaven face as we were asked to wear ours. Salads arrived before appetizers, onions on salads as we asked for none. The appetizer arrived in the middle of a salad. Steak covered with butter ...I mean BUTTER!! Meanwhile the potato that was served with it was cold as it wouldn't even melt butter . Maybe I should have poured the butter off the steak( that had no taste) on it. Then noticing the bill was incorrect as their prices do not reflect the menu prices. This is strike two for this restaurant as they don't really get what service is. The food was about on par for Shoneys but the prices were like Georgia Blue. I'm pretty sure our meals came straight out of a microwave. My rice was so dry I asked for more sauce. I can only give this place a marginal rating. After being seated we were immediately asked if we were ready to order, since it was our first time there, that was an impossibility. Apparently we were totally forgotten about after that because two parties that came in after us were greeted, served drinks, and had their orders taken by different servers. After about 10-12 minutes we finally saw the waitress who initially approached us, we said we were ready to order and she looked annoyed and took our order in a hurried manner. The porterhouse pork chop was not a porterhouse since it did not have the tenderloin portion and it was excessively dry. The Swiss mushroom burger was good but the bun seemed somewhat stale which was surprising since they have a shared bakery. I will give the restaurant another chance because it has a nice ambiance and the drinks were good but my first visit was underwhelming. read more

The last few times there has been no crowd yet service was absolutely horrible and the managers want to argue with you about things that are printed on the menu. Went to restaurant and bar and made a complaint about service and when I made a complaint about my service I was refused entrance back into the establishment. This is the first time I have ever been banned from an establishment; I have friends that work as bar tenders and chefs and because I made a complaint as a professional I wasn't allowed back inside the establishment. One of the partial owners talked to me and explained he didn't think I was a customer that could be satisfied even though I didn't ask for a discounted rate or anything special as he knew I wasn't asking for anything in my behalf . He wouldn't let me back inside the establishment after I had a smoke. He asked me if I needed to see video or have commentary from witnesses (all 3 of them) of my dissatisfaction of their service. Obviously I did not. I canceled my order of drinks and food and left to go to some other establishment that had no issue of my order or anything else. I'd say McDonald's is a better way to get food for no hassle for a reasonable price and quality of atmosphere and is comparable to Gena Benna's on quality of service and expectation of atmosphere. Neat place and I will try again. Was disappointed with the Shrimp Scampi. I have had this many times elsewhere and has always been large shrimp with a garlic butter sauce...Their's is like shrimp spagetti with a maranara that tasted fresh but very little seasoning and a few small size shrimp. Would not reccomend it. But it is a cool atmosphere with good service. Maybe I'll have better luck next time. read more
