Been to Genna Benna's several times. They have lunch specials depending on the day of the week. Pretty decent menu overall, with enough variety to satisfy most anyone's tastes. Had to call from the front desk for someone to seat us several times. Sticky floors made squeaking sounds while walking to the table, which was also nastily sticky. Music is one of the Sirius XM Classic Rock stations, not really a great background for a relaxing meal. If they were to take care of these little things, then I would certainly rate it much higher. read more

I am so excited to have a nice dining option in Brandon. Genna Benna has all the atmosphere you are looking for, great service, and pretty good food. Did I mention that they have a full bar! For appetizers, I would recommend the crawfish empanadas if you want something that will fill you up. If you are looking for an appetizer that is full of flavor but on the lighter side the tuna poke is delightful. For a main course I would recommend the seafood pasta. I have not sampled enough of the food to recommend other dishes yet. One last word of caution, don't let the parking situation deter you. More than likely parking will be a bit of a challenge, this DOES NOT MEAN that the restaurant is too full. There is a lot of seating in Genna Benna. Downtown Brandon has a lot going on: the Black Rose Theater; the SpeakEasy (yes you need to check this out as well); a charming local coffee shop and several local shops. read more

I love Genna Benna but I have to say they annoyed me tonight. There is a torn paper sign on the door announcing a 3% service fee on all checks for rising costs. This is not a cash vs. credit fee this is just a fee. If costs are rising raise your prices don't add a random fee. Good food, good service, poor management. Not sure when I'll go back. read more

Ordered takeout. Black and bleu burger (not much taste or flavor), kids cheese burger (not much taste as reported by my son), a children's chicken Alfredo (good but the portion was extremely small and did not come with a side) and a pork chop. The pork chop was overcooked and did not have much flavor. The side of mushrooms were good. Not many food options in Brandon. Will drive into Jackson next time as the bill ended up being $60 after the person delivering the food to the car asked for a tip. read more

The food here is always good. They have the best pan seared redfish and chicken tender platter. The service depends on the size of their crowd at the time. Big crowds greatly affects their service. We have had several good meals here and only a couple of times had a bad server but we realize that happens everywhere from time to time. read more

First off, let me say, it's nice for downtown Brandon to have a place like this. Although parking might be a little troublesome on a busy night, don't let that deter you. The downstairs area is really well done and is a must see while waiting on a table or even for after dinner. For dinner, both the BBQ Shrimp and Grits or the Porterhouse Porkchop would be excellent choices. You can't go wrong with either one. This is a cool spot for supper in a historic building in downtown. If you like old architecture and history this spot adds it to a strong menu and live music. I had the ribeye which had a nice rib with a hint of spice. Others in my party enjoyed the pork chop which is huge and the grilled chicken salad. The pecan bread pudding lacked sweetness and there was no hint of pecan but the playing was gorgeous. We were in a private room in the back and there was no music piped in so the ambiance was a little flat. All in all a place I will visit again and experience the dining room next time. read more

It's a hit and miss with this one. Sometimes the service is great and sometimes they act aggravated you are there. People need to listen more. Our first visit to Genna Benna's was great. We were seated immediately and the service during our meal was fantastic. I recommend the BBQ Shrimp and grits. The spinach dip appetizer was also a highlight for our table. For dessert we had the pecan bread pudding and the red velvet cheese cake. They were both wonderful. My food was amazing but the service was terrible. Took over 20 mins just to put in our order and the place wasn't even busy. Messed up the order, then took over an hour to fix it. My brothers pork chop was very under cooked. We notified the server and she asked if he wanted a new one but after 2.5 hours, we just asked that it be taken off the bill and we left. Greeters and server were professional polite and patient. Being our first time , we were unsure as to what we wanted . The server took the time to explain how the items we had in question taste . She greeted us with a smile from the time we sat down until the time we left and checked on us throughout the dinner to assure we did not need anything . Love going here because the food is always fresh and plentiful! Staff are friendly and they seat you far apart from others due to covid. They also have paper menus that are disposable!
