They referred us to the Kia dealer, which I knew would be very expensive. So I did some research online and found Franklynn Automotive. I called and described the situation to Steve. He said they likely can handle it, but would start with a complimentary second opinion. After their inspection, they determined that the hose does not need to be replaced and we only needed to refresh the refrigerant, which they do have the equipment for. In addition, the reason the other shop might have suggested the hose replacement was because of a leak related to the axel. All in, the repairs would be substantially less than the dealer quote for work that may not have been needed in the first place. Overall, great experience with Franklynn.

He was the reason I wanted to get the suspension serviced here as his explanation of what I needed done showed his mastery of his craft. However after taking the car to Tesla to get a 2nd opinion I discovered that this shop (not the tech) was trying to charge me literally a 200% markup on the parts to do the repair. Crazy right!!! The genuine Tesla parts for the repair were $209 and these guys quoted those same parts out to $614 (I sent him the estimate from Tesla with the exact cost of the parts). Unfortunately for me Tesla wouldn't work on the car because of an aftermarket body kit the previous owner had installed. I really liked the mechanic at this shop, so I went back to this shop with the intention to move forward even though their cost was literally 56% more ($1,635 vs $2,555) then Tesla for the same work (because of the price gouging on the parts). Then when I asked about it before my approval to move forward the manager got snarky and said how would you expect us to stay in business if we don't markup the parts. I said and I quote "I get a markup on the parts and your high hourly rate for the labor on the work but not a 200% markup on the parts." The guy gave an excuse about the software they use but was unwilling to budge on the price gouging. I literally said why don't you let me buy the parts directly from Tesla and you can still mark them up 25% and he still said no. I was completely professional throughout the conversation, but obviously would not pay a 200% markup on parts on top of the already top of market labor they charge. After the conversation he texted me back and we agreed to not move forward. I only leave this review to warn others. It's a bad business practice to over charge people like that and so I just wanted to give people my story warning them to watch out and be careful before doing any work here. Update: this slime ball's disclosure of all the information I gave his manager, Steve, in good faith is abhorrent. Everything he mentioned on the car was told to them right up front as I told it to the manager, Steve, in person and this clown is repeating word for word what I told his manager. I was cool with this at first but this guy is a complete scum bag now using my own words and lying about it. Anyways besides being a scum bag, no effort at all was made regarding the parts and this shops 200% markup. I literally told the guy running the shop I would buy the parts myself and let them mark it up 25% and still the answer was a quick no. Everything I said was honest and accurate and don't appreciate this guy claiming transparency when his long shpeel was essentially just a my own words complaining about the car I bought and his shops poor excuse for price gauging. They could have done the job without gauging me on the price given I had the option to buy the parts myself. Not cool at all the response from this guy and his piss poor excuse for attempting to rip me off.

They got my car ready for a long road trip, and then troubleshooted a longtime thermostat issue the dealer overlooked, that kept causing the a/c to fritz and the radiator to blow up. Greg and Jeremy and the mechanics all knew I had no intention of giving up on this car. They treated it like it was their own and got to the root of the issue, gave me a loaner to take to the mountains. They kept me informed about the costs. We're using this local K-Motion (EAS) for all our vehicles now! Beyond grateful for their attention to detail!

They have been trying to get my hydro steering from blowing up! 3 times stranded and twice in my…read moreneighborhood. They have a high hourly rate. Put the wrong fluid in the hydro steering twice at least! 1000 miles in a year and blew again! Got contact jeep mobile mechanic and was appalled how bad all the hoses where and absolutely clogging a hose and blue up! Over a year of this! My mechanic took 3.5 hours to rerun the hoses and get one hose the had made was 2' too long! Finally admitted to me they have no idea on hydroponic steering the 5th or 6th time! Why did they admitit then? And change me $250 an hour out maybe closer to $300. Just tell me and I'm tale it to someone who does! So much more to this story! Took 6 weeks to cut a notch in the air filter box to help one hose clear. Don't mess with Greg, and deal with Jeremy. He's so much better! Getting info from Greg is like pulling teeth! Still not quite sure why it was 6 weeks? Half the hoses are worn down and pretty sure they have replaced most at this point. Just don't go there! They are owned by eas auto.

I was told that I had 3mm or less…read moreleft on my rear brake pads and was then quoted $600 to replace them at AutoNation on Tufts Ave. I knew that was ridiculous, so I called Max Auto. After dropping my car off, I got a text a few hours later showing me my brake pads. They said they looked nearly brand new and I definitely did not need them replaced. Along with that, they had much better pricing (aka not taking advantage of customers) for a few other items that I wanted to get done on the car. We will be Max Auto customers for life! 7/24/2026: Updating this review after a more recent, more complicated repair. My most recent repair was a rough experience. The car was towed in on 7/13 after we hit a boulder during a creek crossing and obliterated the oil pan. I was told on 7/14 that they'd get to it that day, but it wasn't actually looked at until 7/16. From there, the part had to be ordered and didn't arrive until 7/20. (I was later told that they did confirm the oil pan damage on 7/14, but the oil pan still was not ordered until 7/16.) While the work was scheduled to be completed on 7/21, the car wasn't ready to be picked up until 7/23. The bigger issue was that I had to initiate almost every single update myself. I'd ask "any news?" and get a status; otherwise I heard nothing, even on days they'd told me I'd get an update. At one point I was told "tomorrow will be the day," and then heard nothing again until I followed up. I understand that this was an unscheduled tow-in, and they told me at one point that they'd put other jobs aside to get to mine faster, but honestly, there never seemed to be any sense of urgency on their end -- our (only!) car ended up being in the shop for over a week and a half. It doesn't seem like the place for an emergency repair, since their schedule seems consistently over-packed, which makes it hard for them to actually prioritize anything, urgent or not. To be clear, I don't doubt the quality of the actual repair work, and I still trust their diagnostics and pricing based on my original experience. But the communication issues were enough to make me hesitant about coming back.

The entire staff is always extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Have had nothing but great results with their tech and maintenance work. I got the studs and even after the tow truck said they couldn't tow the truck .1 miles to the shop they stayed till 10pm to walk over and fix everything. At a big place im looking at $1000 at least and they did it for way cheaper I gave the guys an extra 100 just for the customer service alone they are true business and I won't be going back to anybody else for my tires anymore.
