Second visit to this spot. Was underwhelmed with their level of service today. Came in at 6:45 on a Sunday for a fresh pie, salad and calamari. Was told that they close at 7pm. However heard another attendant answer a call and told them that their order would be over an hour to be delivered. I then asked him what time the restaurant closes and he responds 8pm. I then said the other guy said 7pm. He then says "oh we stop seating at 7pm but we stay open for deliveries." I kinda found that odd. Furthermore the attendant was very unapologetic about the misinformation. Sucks because they are literally around the corner from me. Hopefully tonight's food that I ordered from them will be worth the lack of service. read more

Genteel's Brick Oven Pizza is located in a tiny storefront inside a busy strip mall. The parking lot has a decent amount of spaces, but can be nearly full during peak hours. Inside the restaurant, there are a few tables to sit and eat at, as well as a long wooden ledge you can sit at if you're getting slices. It's a small, but cozy restaurant. The pizza was pretty average. The base and crust were a bit dry and slightly overcooked. Sauce and cheese were okay, but nothing to brag about. The sausage slice was also generic and featured an uneven distribution of the topping. Overall, there are better places to go in the area for quality pizza, but if you're hungry and in need of a quick bite, this establishment will do. read more

I consider this the best of the normal take out pizza in Princeton. Better than Conte's, better than Alfonso's for sure. You could probably do better at a couple sit downs, but it's better than most. Read from some fellow Yelpers that this place serves good and large Italian dishes and decided to try it. Mind you it's not nana's home cooking but it's a good sit down and enjoy place. The pasta dishes were tasty (portions were huge). Ordered a chicken Parmesan and the sauce was very good. Unlike some restos, they actually use tomatoes and not too much tomato paste (which gives me heartburn). Also, got a white pizza and it was nice and chewy and not too thin and oily like some other places. Service was great and prompt throughout (thanks Michelle!). The nice owner James even came by and chatted and asked about the food which is always appreciated ! They will be moving 2 stores away in a few weeks which will have a wood burning oven. My kid tried a slice of Genteel's pizza from a school event where each family could take a whole pizza home and liked it so much, we ordered it for a party at home and there were very few leftovers. They were punctual on the order, gracious with the cheese and pepperoni's. Will definitely keep ordering from there. read more

First time I give a 1star review ever. I called Genteel at 7:10 pm and ordered 1 large pizza. The man on the phone asked me to spell my address in Princeton, two times, and then he told me the price and took my credit card numbers. He said the pizza will be delivered in 45 minutes. One hour 15 minutes later (!) the driver calls me and asks for the address again... Right after that, the restaurant manager calls me and starts yelling at me (!) saying that they don't deliver that far (how should I know?). 20 minutes later (!) the driver arrives finally. Of course the pizza is cold, but that was normal. What's not normal, was the quality of that quatro fromagi pizza. Tasteless cheese (of course no blue cheese) and gummy crust. Ok, so mom was in town and paying but boy this place was delish! It's not too expensive, but it is SUPER tasty. We had the bruschetta to start with which was super unique in that it had apples and butternut squash on top - whaaaaat! Ordered a soup for take out - it was obvious with the wait time that the soup of the day was not ready. The soup was a thin liquid, and tasted as if they added milk to a marinara sauce - simply horrible. So I paid over $5 for soup that was thrown away. Wish I could give negative stars. read more

Went tonight unexpectedly when the restaurant we drove into Princeton to had an outrageous wait. We were a table of seven, and they could seat us right away, so we decided to give it a try. We had teenage boys with us, and they ordered "personal" size pizzas, as did my husband. My parents and I ordered pasta dishes. When our waiter brought out our order, he told us that the kitchen had mistakenly omitted our younger son's order, so his pizza would be another 5 minutes or so, and he apologized profusely and told us they already took it off the bill. He was incredibly nice about it, and in all honesty we had PLENTY of food to keep everyone happy while our son waited. The "personal" pizzas were huge! The pasta dishes were all very good as well. All of the food was very enjoyable. As we finished up, the waiter came back to let us know that the cook had made us a complimentary order of Zeppolis to further apologize for the delay in our son's pizza order! I don't know that anything could have made my son happier - they are his favorite carnival food (and mine!) I don't give a lot of 5-star reviews on Yelp, but I was so impressed by the service here. The place is quick for pizza delivery and there pizza are delicious. Plenty of choices of pizza and toppings. To dine, there are not a lot of space to sit. When i got there no one was here yet, so we were served quickly. They give us a free appetizer and my course was delicious. The menu has good and fresh variety of dishes. Standard italian fare done well. Huge portions, very inexpensive (too much so) and the owner is just a nice guy. Too nice IMHO and he needs to select and manage his staff better. They remodeled and it looks great. As far as pizza/pasta goes this place is on point. The owner can cook and he cares about his food. It shows. I do think the restaurant needs to be managed better. The food and decor is nice and I go cause its tasty, but I also like supporting that establishment, this has not tainted my review though. Once they get the operational aspects down I think the place has great potential. read more

This place has really good food. We had their pizza first, margarita. The ingredients are good, the sauce is perfect, not sweet nor bitter. The crust is nice bc it has a unique crispness that really makes the texture perfect with a bit of crunch and chew. We'had their white pizza that is also really delicious and recently tried a pasta dish, linguini with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach in a light alfredo. The pasta was cooked perfect, the sauce was tastey and wasn't overly heavy. A nice place to have in Montgomery. read more

Really like this place! Came here for lunch the other day. The staff is very friendly and the portions are big and reasonably priced. This place is very nice on the inside. The decor looks very new. I ordered the spinach salad and it was a little over $6. I wasn't expecting such a huge portion. Spinach leaves, crispy bacon, eggs, generous helpings of tomato, and huge slices of mozzarella cheese, all topped in a delicious vinaigrette dressing. Probably one of the best salads I ever had to be completely honest. Anyway, I hear the pizza is good, so I will have to cone back and try a slice. read more

SURPRISE: They are OPEN on SUNDAY. We took a chance today on a small margherita and loved it! Plenty big for 2 folks. Really nice crust- not too thin and not too thick but quite tasty. Sauce and cheese were great- gooey and a bit oily in the best possible way. We are still "sheltering" so the nice people were accommodating and popped pizza in our truck. Fantastic pizza, friendly staff and always consistent. I really appreciate the fact that I when I order take out and bring a few pies home, the pies stay intact, meaning they use just right amount of cheese and sauce so that pie does not come as a sloppy mess. Highly recommend this place if you are in Montgomery/Skillman area. Last night I ordered two pies, one large and one small, and when I got there the kind woman who was working the register told me that they had mistakenly made two larges but would charge me for the sizes I had ordered. Stopped in for take out. Salads served with minimal dressing on the side, no plastic utensils added. Minimal meaning less than 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of oil and vinegar. They were however fresh. Slices of pizza were room temperature and we ate them within 2 minutes of walking out the door. Dining area appeared very clean. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now. Tonight me and my husband are glad we went. I had the eggplant rollitini and it was amazing. Very fresh ingredients good portion as well. Im very picky about my Italian food and definitely was very happy. I also got the Caesar salad that came with my meal and it was by far one of the best i have had to date. The romaine lettuce was so fresh and super crisp. Definitely will be going here again . The prices were good especially for the decent size portions. Cant wait to try the pizza. read more

We went to this place, a mile down the road, because they had a restaurant.com certificate. While it looks like a basic pizza parlor from outside, it has a nice restaurant and the decor in similar to something you would see in the city, older building decorated with an old world charm - really sweet. It is a byob, which is a plus sometimes. Being someone who cooks well and often, I am usually a critic. I ordered egglplant rollantini and it was excellent. It was cooked homestyle, and the ricotta was fresh ricotta, almost unheard even in the 'top' restaurants in the Princeton/Montgomery area; I knkow the tast immediately. The filling also had spinach - not frozen but fresh baby spinach. The sause was a delicious tomator based marinara. My fiance had scallops with risotto and vegetables. We both eat healthy and always fresh ingredients - that said, he was very impressed with the preparation and flavor of his food. We will definitely try here again. Truly a great casual place with a 'real' family cooking the food. You can tell by the preparation and taste. read more

The 2 slice and soda deal is a great bargain. Pizza was decent but the crust a bit too thick for me but ok and the sauce and cheese were very good. My wife got some spaghetti and meatballs to go. There was no salad or even bread with it which was kind of disappointing, especially Italian bread. The portion size was rather small compared to other places. The sauce was more like a paste and did not have much flavor to it and although they provided 4 half meatballs they had a bit too much salt. Pizza was good just ask for it well done. The wings were the smallest wings I have ever seen. Overall not a bad place to grab a pie and they deliver which is rare in this area. Whenever I am in Princeton this is where I order my pizza from. As far as the wings go they were good just extremely tiny it was almost like a joke how small they were. read more

I'm a fan of "pasta a la puttanesca", and they make an excellent version of it here (including the anchovies). I've tried some of their pizza's (individual size), and they were all quite good too (I don't claim to be a pizza expert though). My children like it too, and service has always been most friendly. It's not a huge place by any means (they had a bigger place in the past; two doors north), but the setting is decent, and the prices too. read more
