Solid plain pizza. I really liked the sauce. It had a good amount of sweetness to it. By the time we got the pizza to eat, it was a little cold. And we weren't in a place to be able to reheat it. Would love to try again with a nice hot pizza.

The facility is surprisingly dirty. I ate here on a Sunday morning because there were no other options and I was under a time constraint. Decent chicken parm sandwich but I would not return because of the filth.

Inedible hoagie. DISGUSTING, rock hard bread barely any meat.

HORRIBLE FOOD. SO disgusted with my experience with both this establishment AND SLICE. $50 order, vodka rigatoni pizza with sausage and ricotta, Italian "hoagie" and two orders of calamari. Asked for pepperoni on the hoagie. Got THREE PIECES of pepperoni, barely any meat and a roll that was as stale and as hard as a rock. Completely inedible. Literally threw away the entire hoagie. For that three pieces of pepperoni I was charged an additional $10, bringing my total to $60. The sandwich itself is $7. The pizza. NO RICOTTA. Bland "vodka" sauce. Nothing more than macaroni and bread with barely any sausage, even though I ordered AND PAID for DOUBLE sausage. Calamari was like rubber. Soggy and chewy all at once. NEVER AGAIN. Made the mistake of ordering through Slice instead of Grubhub. Once more, NEVER AGAIN. Their response to my complaints? A $4 credit to the restaurant. Seriously????? The extra charge for an inedible hoagie was more than the credit for a sandwich we couldn't eat, credit for a restaurant we will NEVER order from again. USELESS. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE STAY AWAY FROM BOTH NONNA SAL'S AND SLICE. You're welcome.

Nonno Sal's is a tiny pizza shop on Rt. 33, with three tables and a large counter. It is basically a take out place, but I like to eat my pizza hot, so I grabbed the back table under the TV and ordered two plain slices to test the waters. The joint is a bit unkempt and has the feel of a place that needs some TLC. The pizza is average for the area - firm crust, adequate sauce/cheese ratio, but has an oil drip out the back end of a folded slice. Can't speak to anything else on the menu as my first test is always the slice deuce to see how much attention is paid to the primary product. Not enough, I'm afraid; so I doubt I'll be back to try anything else.

Appetizer menu with all good things.

We just quit going out for Italian other than for tomato pies, but now we've begun actively looking for a place to enjoy simple Italian food--outside of the ubiquitous tomato pies. Gennaro's was our first stop, with the menu definitely reading more New World Italian than Old World. We started with a couple of appetizers: The Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms in Scampi sauce and the Antipasto Salad. I'm not a fan of Antipasto salads (I've a three item max addition rule for salads and tomato pies), but my wife enjoyed it. It was your standard antipasto salad for the area--perhaps more generous with the meat and cheese than the last one we ordered up the street at Papa's. The stuffed mushrooms had a good flavor, and although the sauce didn't really hit me as Scampi (the garlic wasn't really there), it was still good on its own, and I'd order it again. My wife ordered the Pork Chop Giambotta, which she truly enjoyed. It was a thick, good sized pork chop covered with a sauce that included potatoes, sausage slices, and sautéed peppers. The menu said that the peppers were hot and sweet, but they were pretty much 99.9% hot peppers. If that's an issue for you, I'd make a point in mentioning it to your server first. My wife doesn't do spicy, but luckily I was there to find a home for the hot peppers, and she said she'd order it again if we returned. My Veal Saltimbocca, however, was a letdown. The veal was overcooked and had lost its tenderness, but most surprising to me was that it was very different from the standard version I've known for years. Had I read the description more carefully, I'd have caught the fact it was in a tomato demi-glace rather than the white wine and butter emulsion I know and love. Also, the ham that was used was not the thinly sliced prosciutto one normally sees, instead it was a thick slice of something that I can't honestly tell you was prosciutto or not. The use of spinach instead of a sage leaf wasn't a complete shock, as I've seen that before. Overcooked veal, the prosciutto mystery, and tradition straying aside, the flavor almost bordered on being alright, but it definitely wasn't what I'd hoped for when I placed the order. To add insult to injury, I asked for pasta as my side, and was given a couple choices--I chose the linguini and got served a dente-less spaghetti. When I asked the waiter (who was otherwise extremely conscientious and attentive) if they were out of linguini, I was told that there's really very little difference between the two, which so blew my mind that I just shrugged and ate. While we were there, we could see that there were many people who acted like regulars enjoying their meals, and many of them were also eating tomato pies, however, we're on the hunt for a place that's going to satisfy our need for an Italian place that provides beyond the pizza oven. I'm up in the air about a second shot--my wife was much happier than me with the location (which means we'll likely go), but I'll definitely ask our server more questions about what I'm ordering next time to avoid any surprises.

I hadn't made…read moreit around to this place since the area has a pizzeria or Italian eatery in almost every shopping plaza, with specialty pizza shops like Marcello's Pizza Grill & tomato pie greats like Delorenzos & Papa's less than a few minutes drive away. The desire to try out a new spot in the area that served up the more traditional round pie led me here. Although I stopped in for take out, they have a decent dining area between the tables inside and the outdoor patio area. I went with a standard cheese pizza and an order of garlic knots. The garlic knots (3.25/5) were a bit on the smaller side, but served in a nice portion size with a decent garlic kick to them. The large cheese pizza (3.5/5) was a small notch above the central New Jersey average, with the dough, sauce, & cheese coming together for a nice pizza experience, although I did have to sprinkle on some spices to add to the flavor profile a bit. Service (4/5) while picking up was friendly, although slightly slow at first since the guy at the counter was initially fixated on his phone for a bit. Overall, I'd rate Massimo's a 3.5/5 pizza experience, and don't mind rounding up since Yelp doesn't allow half stars and menu prices were fairly reasonable. While I'm not sure I'd choose Massimo's over other pizza competitors in the Robbinsville/Hamilton area, it's still a decent option should you find yourself looking for a more traditional round pizza experience.

The chicken had a strong chemical odor, which was very concerning, and when it arrived it was still pink and severely undercooked. When I brought the issue to their attention, there was little concern or effort made to resolve it. Food safety should be a top priority, and serving undercooked chicken is unacceptable. Between the poor quality of the food, the lack of professionalism, and the overall experience, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are several other places in the Robbinsville area that offer much better food, service, and value for your money.

My Chicken Piccata was well-seasoned and flavorful. Cons: While the staff was pleasant, the service was extremely slow--especially considering there were only seven tables seated and we were the first to arrive. Our table of five ordered just two appetizers, yet the entire meal took three hours to complete. This delay was not due to extended conversation but rather very slow kitchen execution and service. Additionally, over the course of three hours, I was served only two glasses of water, the second of which I had to request. Water glasses were left half-empty for long periods; refills should be automatic. Finally, the broccoli served with my Chicken Piccata was ice cold.
