I have been going to the Harvard Dental School recently as I have neglected my teeth for many years and need a lot of work.... At first i had no insurance, but I now do and Harvard doesn't work with my provider. Not to mention I have been going there for about 6 months and gotten very little done because everything takes FOREVER, and I did get one root canal there(my first ever) and was in pain the entire time, and she wouldn't give me more Novocain... anyway this is a review of Gentle Dental Brookline, so I desperately needed an emergency root canal and have never been there. Since I am insured now i started calling around different dental offices for quotes. One quoted me a tentative 700 dollar copay with my insurance, but Gentle Dental quoted me 250, and were able to see me the following day. I saw Dr. Han and she made me feel very comfortable. The procedure was quick, and more importantly PAINLESS. And my copay only ended up being 210, and I also found a coupon on their website for 25 off and ended up only paying $185. Dr. Han also said she would give me a free exam/treatment plan since I've had a recent cleaning and full xrays at Harvard. Needless to say, I am so relieved to have taken care of this tooth(the main reason I started going to the dental school 6 months ago) and couldn't be happier with this experience. I still have to go back for crown and all, but will continue going here for all my dental needs until my insurance runs out for the year :D read more

I recently needed emergency dental care, and was lucky to find this office. I called over in the late morning the day I needed treatment, and the office personnel were incredibly helpful. Not only did they work with the dentist to fit me into their busy schedule, they also took extra time from their day to help me sort out an issue with the new dental insurance I had just gotten. Dr. Bliss is excellent. She accurately diagnosed the source of the problem, and prescribed and coordinated the necessary interventions, all of which were able to be provided in the same office. She is easy to speak with, and does not make one feel rushed (even in the situation I described), and is very gentle in her exam technique. I will definitely go to this office for future care, both routine and emergent. read more

This location of professionals is top of the bar. The Drs, the employees all very helpful and respectful. The Dr, changed her entire schedule to accommodate the work that I needed. Being in the food service industry this is no easy task. For the first time in years I have a smile that I can be proud of. I recently went to my niece's wedding and everyone noticed my pearly whites, most of my family members had not see me smile in years. I had my first visit at Gentle Dental in Brookline .I was very pleased the staff there is awesome! The assistant I had was very caring and gentle while doing my ex-rays and also a great listener. I absolutely love Dr.Bliss she was amazing ! I explained how awful smiling has been for me lately due to my teeth needing some work and she was so kind in reassuring me i will be smiling proudly after my work is done , Dr. Bliss was great she explained every procedure and what will happen during each visit step by step and how long the visits should take . I walked out very happy and eager for my next visit . totally not how I felt while making my appointment.. I do not like going to the dentist! Cannot recommend this office highly enough. Dr Maranda Bliss (new to this location) is a graduate of Tuft's Dental School(one of the best in the nation). I was traveling and developed a tooth ache. Luckily this practice was the first to come up on my Google Search. They got me in within 30 minutes(on a weekend!) and Dr Bliss diagnosed the problem and performed a simple procedure which cured it. She gave me her email and phone number just in case I had any more trouble while traveling.(which I didn't). The cost of the visit was a small fraction of what it would have cost me at home(California). I am a physician and recognize high quality care when I see it. I just wish I could get affordable high quality dental care like this at home! read more

I've had several dentist over several decades and never imagined I'd be writing a review (it's not like anyone loves going to the dentist), but the staff at Gentle Dental of Brookline are exceptional and deserving of praise. Juan, the office manager, is so great to work with; accommodating, personable, and he greets patients by name immediately (who doesn't love to be remembered). Monica, who now cleans my teeth quarterly, has many credentials! She is very thorough and good-natured. This practice has several Doctors, so is able to provide an array of specialty services. I feel I'm in extremely capable hands with these providers and expect others will feel the same. read more

I saw Dr. Dassa and Heather to have a crown replaced. They were great! I have pretty severe anxiety and the dentist is usually tough for me. I almost rescheduled when I got in the chair but Heather and Dr. Dassa, who knew I was anxious took the time to explain exactly what to expect and put me right at ease. They both had great bedside manner and were genuinely and sincerely invested in my comfort. I never write reviews but used Yelp for the first time because the experience was so outstanding. If you are afraid of the dentist, call Dr. Dassa and Heather and down at Gentle Dental on Beacon St, Brookline and they will make it easy. I wouldn't see anyone else!!! read more

I had an amazing experience at Gentle Dental of Brookline. I called on a Saturday morning with a broken tooth and they told me to come right over. The ladies at the front desk were so friendly and very knowledgable about my insurance. I was seen by a nice lady dentist Dr. Bliss. She said I needed a crown to fix my tooth and they did it for me that day! Personally I hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Bliss and her assistant made sure I didn't feel a thing. She even called me the next day to see how my temporary crown was and gave me her personal cell phone in case I needed her on Sunday. How many dentists would do that?! I have had Monika, a dental hygienist, clean my teeth for the last 2 years, and she is very professional, gentle, and down-to-earth. She doesn't rush through the cleaning and always compliments me for doing a good job flossing, brushing, and keeping my gums as healthy as possible. She will point out a problem if it is truly there, not just to churn more business. Juan at the front desk is very personable as is Dr. Dassa, who is very knowledgeable, communicative, and easy going. You will not be disappointed if you are a patient with these three professionals. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star rating was the prices should be somewhat lower. read more

I recently started seeing Dr. Bliss. She explains everything she is going to do and why, and always answers all my questions so I understand exactly what's happening. She also gives me all the time I need. She looks out for her patient's best interests in their dental health -- she goes above and beyond to minimize pain and discomfort. Dr. Dassa is incredibly thorough, attentive, and friendly. I, like many, am not a fan of going to the dentist, but he made me feel at ease and actually listened to my concerns. I moved and had to switch dentists but wanted to write a review because of how positive my experience was at Gentle Dental. I had seen a few other hygienists since becoming a client at GD, but now I will only go to Monika. She is exceptional - professional, thorough, gentle and diligent. I have been able to get appointments very quickly when calling, and I love that they have later hours and Saturday hours.
