She always seems to take the conservative route and is very considerate of the overall experience each of my children have. I can't speak well for the other dentists there, but I promise you won't be disappointed with Dr. Bates. The other ladies in the office are also great. Such a relief to have a great dentist office and staff we can trust with the care of our kiddos.

They saw him through 2 root canals, 4 extractions and 2 spacer installs plus many other fillings. That was all between 4-6 years of age! Traumatic to say the least. Dr. Fong, Dr. Bates, and Dr. Richmong (has moved) were great with my son. We will NEVER let him see Dr. Lipschultz again as he was VERY mean to my son and my daughter at one particular visit. He yelled at my then 5 year old to STOP CRYING and sit still during a very invasive procedure. So...we don't see him and all is well. We really like their new location where all the chairs are not in the SAME ROOM. That was a little weird. But now it is more private. We will continue to go this location for the great desk service staff (Lisa in particular) and Dr. Bates is awesome.

Coincidentally, I had a teeth cleaning scheduled two days later, but the cleaning itself felt outdated and poorly done -- using a metal scraping tool and not even cleaning under my bridge. I began waking up at night with a dull, persistent tooth pain. I called the office in the morning asking if my appointment could be moved earlier due to the pain. I was told there was "no way" -- all dentists were booked, no cancellations available, and not even a waiting list. I was expected to wait another 10 days despite obvious dental pain. I contacted another dental clinic the same day and was given an appointment for the very next morning. This experience showed a lack of concern for patient comfort and urgency, as well as outdated care. I will not be returning and would not recommend this office.

The dentist was impatient and rude to both my child and husband. They had a movie on for him and when he said he couldn't see it, the dentist responded, "we aren't going to compete," and shut it off. Nervous for the visit, they attempted to give him laughing gas. The mask was uncomfortable and the dentist snapped, "stop it! You're fine!" My husband expressed his concern about moving forward as my son was still visibly upset and stressed after several minutes of laughing gas. She said that he'll calm down after receiving novocaine. As soon as she applied the first needle, he screamed and started to flail. She held him down until my husband said to stop, that it wasn't safe with these conditions. Had she been more patient and talked calmer with my son, he may have trusted her more and the filling could have been done. Now he is numb for no reason. I called the dentist and she tried to tell me that SHE explained it wasn't safe while that upset, except it was MY husband who urged her to stop. She should not be considered a family or children's dentist. We will never be back.

She was gentle and very quick at getting everything X-rayed and cleaned. I honestly don't remember my dentists name but she was very thorough and noticed I had a strange mark on my x-ray. They did a bite wing and found out that when I got my wisdom teeth pulled 13 years ago they left a root in there...I have had so many dental appointments in the past 13 years and no one noticed it before. Before treatment, I was provided pricing for specific dental services for my children and was given quoted amounts. Different services were later performed without any discussion or authorization regarding changes in treatment or cost. I paid the balances presented at the time of each appointment which matched the quote for services I was provided earlier. About a month after treatment, I received an additional bill for nearly $600 for services that had never been discussed or approved. After multiple calls attempting to resolve the issue, the office refused to honor the original pricing and instead suggested I "split the difference." My primary concern is the lack of transparency and informed financial consent. Patients should not receive significantly higher bills after treatment for services that were never clearly explained or authorized. In my opinion, these practices raise serious ethical concerns and undermine trust between provider and patient. Because of this experience, I intend to file a complaint with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry, the Minnesota Attorney Generals office and my insurance provider. I cannot in good conscience recommend this business to others.
