I have insurance, was seen THIS year for a cleaning. They have been texting me to come back and have some procedures done. I call for an appointment today at 8:03, get scheduled for 1:00. When I show up, early, they inform me that they don't take my insurance!! I explained that I was just seen months ago. She confirmed that yes I was seen and the insurance was paid....but they don't take it anymore. I told them I was upset that I wasn't told earlier, so that I didn't make the trip...she said "sorry". read more

Three strikes -- I'm OUT. STRIKE ONE: It started at the front desk. Amanda overcharged me $545 for a crown, even though I had plenty of insurance benefits remaining. She insisted I owed the amount. After sitting in the chair for two hours, I didn't feel like arguing, so I paid--assuming I'd be refunded once insurance cleared. It took THREE months and numerous calls and emails after insurance paid for them to finally return my $545. STRIKE TWO: At my next cleaning, they fraudulently billed my insurance for a fluoride treatment that I did not receive, and insurance paid them. It then took over two months for them to refund those benefits. STRIKE THREE: Dr H. They started a crown in November 2024. Multiple appointments were canceled because the crown "wasn't ready." Due to cost cutting, they used a cheap poor-quality lab. There were repeated delays, and one crown he they attempted to place didn't even fit. Finally, in April 2025, the crown was placed. It felt clunky, lumpy, and uncomfortable. I returned FIVE times for adjustments, grinding, and X-rays with no resolution. I ultimately went to another dentist for a second opinion. He stated the crown was outdated technology, poorly fitted, and had a visible opening where bacteria could enter and cause serious problems. This gap had previously been pointed out to Dr. H by Dr. B, and Isaac, the dental assistant. Gentle Dental would only refund my money if I agreed to sign a non-disclosure agreement, not write any negative reviews, and not pursue any future claims. That alone should raise red flags. Ultimately, I filed a grievance with Delta Dental and received a full refund, and they voided the crown with Gentle Dental. Save yourself the frustration and stress. Stay AWAY. read more

I actually enjoyed going here, but I think I will be finding a new dentist with my insurance. I have no problem with the dentist, doctors, hygienists, etc. The reception is the issue, I woke up feeling very under the weather today and realized I will not be making my appointment at 7 AM. I planned on calling at 7:30 to say I couldn't make it, well by 7:18 I received a call from the rudest person I have every spoken to on the phone. She gave me such snarky responses and asked, "why I confirmed the appointment if I wasn't going to show up?" Well, I confirmed when I was not feeling sick like I am now, which was not an answer she seemed to believe. It was like I offended her for being sick, which I definitely can control! Quoted me and paid up front with partial insurance coverage, dentist did the deep cleaning, then upon leaving they had me sign another doc on a signing pad without showing me the receptionists screen... I should've questioned it but thought they were honest people and that my bill was paid. I later got a call saying I owe an addition $300+ and they are using a document that I never saw against me. You can clearly see on the document that I now have that I did not sign an actual paper, but rather applied my e-sign onto that form that I never read/was never informed of. I called to get clarity and the receptionist admitted she made a mistake and didn't look into my insurance info that I gave them DESPITE ME PROVIDING IT TO THEM 1 WEEK BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT. My 1st appointment to this Dentist. I made an appt. for a cleaning. I go to the appointment and fill out a book of paperwork. Next they do X-Rays and the Dentist does his exam. He says I have a crown on the back tooth that is cracked. They will put a gold crown on. I said no gold only porclein. So he says follow me out to the front they will give you your cost on that repair and set your appts. for repair and cleaning. I said No I came in today for the cleaning . He says that not how we work. I go out front they give me a estimate $1188, for One Crown! Then wants to schedule the crown first. I said I made an appt. for a cleaning today, about a month ago. She said we can get you in for a cleaning... we are booking into next year! I said I will find another Dentist!! And left . All this Dentist is interested in is raking in enormous money! My dentist quit the practice after cleanings and telling me i needed a crown and an EXTRACTION! Working with my state insurance- obviously gouging patients for money! I found another dentist who took x rays, used existing xrays, and found NO reason for extraction nor even a cavity in that tooth. The receptionists were very rude and not welcoming at all. My first visit here since I changed dentists. All I can say is the doctors assistant Isaac was WONDERFUL. I usually have a bad gag reflex and Isaac helped me thru it and very few gagging. I noticed that Isaac used A radiation protector that all other dentists do not use. Dr. H is awesome He actually gives great vibes. Dr. H. Is very very good. Looks like I found a Dentist for me. I just started going to Dr. H a few months ago based on a recommendation of a friend. The staff is friendly and Dr. H is great. I have never had a filling before yesterday and it couldn't have been easier. I had my teeth cleaned by Amber and she was very thorough. I have been going to gentle dental on bell road for a couple of years now. The staff has always been so kind and considerate and "gentle". I recently had a root canal, it was fantastic. Dr. B and Ananda are awesome. Dr. H is super fantastic. Always has a smile on his face and Happy to see his patients. I personally like Friday appointments because that is their country music day. So I have not been to this dental office. I called to make an appointment with monica the hygienist because my sister-in-law recommended her, I also had a question. I was seen at a different gentle dental and was told that my deep cleaning would be around $567 and was wondering if the price would be the same at this gentle dental since I am not familiar with how the system works(haven't been to a dentist in a while).Based on my interaction with the person who answered the phone, I will not be coming here. It seemed like I was bothering her with my question and then she hung up on me, I was just looking for an explanation . Not so great first impression. Im sure Monica is a great hygienist because my friend raved about her but Im not willing to deal with rude front desk when I will be paying alot of money out of pocket for a service. read more

Dr. Haghighat is great! It's so nice to go to a Dentist, describe what concerns you have, and have them addressed in plain English and with care. A portion of my gum had an issue, and they used a procedure where they took my own stem cells from my blood and used them to repair the tissue on my gum. Crazy! And not only did it work, but I had an old filling that apparently was never done properly, and after a conversation, it has since been fixed to better my overall oral health. I've been going here since it was An Elegant Smile and Ambar Chavez is great at cleaning teeth and I enjoy the conversation as well. Some make it awkward but I've never had a bad experience here, even when I may have not flossed as much as I should have. But if they are reading this.... I am flossing now. I swear. read more

I had a new patient appointment early am, and I got a confirmation text message. Before going there, I clicked on the address inside the text message, and i started driving according to the map.. i reached a residential area by the time of my appointment. I called the office and the lady on the phone couldn't be more rude! She pretended she doesn't know what text message I was talking about and she said: you can drive here, but if you are 15 minutes late, they will probably not see you. Even though it was a confirmation error on the practice, i asked her to consider me calling her letting her know i was running late. She did not confirm that I will be seen. I arrived there 14 minutes late. She goes: I'm sorry we can't see you (without checking with the doctor) she added: besides, you were supposed to be here 20 minutes earlier (which no one told me about when I made the appointment). When i showed her the text message and the map, she said: you're not supposed to click on that! ( then why do you have an address linked to it if I'm not "supposed" to click on it?). The experience was enough for me to look for a different doctor. Sorry Gentle Dental you lost a customer over a rude front desk lady. Horrible experience for a new dental patient!! read more

I changed my dentist due to moving and scheduled appt here! My very first appt was at 7am and I was told that I have to be there at 6:50. My husband and I got there at 6:50 and no one was there! Waited until 7:12 and finally someone opened the door!!!!! We were okay with it because it happens but the staff wasn't even ready! We ended up seeing the doctor around 7:30. Next appt my husband was there at 2:30 but he had to wait 19 mins to be seen! For his third appt which was at 7am again, he went in at 7:12 and they've said that they gave his appt up and they can't see him! This is so upsetting and frustrating!!! Front desk staff are NOT professional at all!!! The award of worst front desk goes to this place!!!!!!!! I feel like if you are paying them they should also respect you and accommodate you because this is all you've been doing! He even told them about them being late all the time he's been there and she said that was ok for them! We are taking our business elsewhere!!! read more

The worst. Very patient last. I had high hopes for this practice after moving to Phoenix last year. The first straw: being required to wear a mask in late February 2022 even though I am triple vaxed, virtually no one else in Phoenix has worn them anywhere for months, AZ has no mask mandate, all states except HI have dropped them, the CDC says masks are no longer required, and patients wouldn't be wearing one during treatment anyway, when they are closest to another person as they breath, as I did when they cleaned my teeth a couple of months ago. Did anyone really think this through? Second straw: I was asked to sign a full page of waivers that some consultant or seminar or lawyer probably recommended as best practices without any regard to how the patient might react to them or whether they make sense or are just plain silly. My favorite asked me to acknowledge that holding my mouth open for a prolonged period of time could make my jaw ache. Another asked me to acknowledge that medications (not a specific medication but medications in general) can have side effects. Really? Final straw: this practice requires payment in advance even if you have insurance. After they refused to bill insurance first before billing me, the camel's back broke and I left, never to return. read more

Think twice before you want to visit this facility. I have been with this dental clinic when it used to be An Elegant Smile for probably 17 years. A good experience most times. Issues with billing could be resolved, check in was ok, and they usually never got me back in the chair anywhere near my appointment time but because Dr. Hagi was so good I always let it slide. But since the time Gental Dental took over this clinic itself seems much different. Recently I realized that I had invoices to pay going back to 2016 for multiple cleaning procedures that were not covered because it exceeds maximum visits or they didn't bill my medical, however have been told they don't bill medical. I had told them previously that I do not want any service that is not covered. I should have checked myself, however in the past cleanings were always covered at 0$ so I had no real reason to check. I haven't decided what I will do to find a new dentist, but its a hard decision to make since Dr. Hagi is truly a nice guy and great dentist. Clearly you can see your service is failing, what are you going to do about it? read more

The actual dental care here is good. Dr. Haghighat is a great dentist and is willing to explain all options, answer questions, and truly has the best interest in mind for the patient. I have been a patient here for 5+ years and have had several hygienists and all of them seem to be pleasant and good at what they do. Unfortunately the administrative side of this office is horrible. They don't return calls, the billing is convoluted, it is very difficult to schedule appointments as they seem to overbook all the time and don't have openings, and this morning when I had a scheduled appointment I walked in 14 minutes late and was told I had to reschedule (it took me 4 months to get the appointment this morning for a basic cleaning). Horrible customer service at the front desk, no empathy (had a 4 year old child in tow that caused me to run late), and no interest in trying to keep me as a patient. This was the last straw and I am done with this place. Found another Moon Valley area dentist and have a cleaning set for next week. read more

If I could give it 0 star I would but unfortunately that's not an option. The one start is for the dentist as he was great but the front desk made my experience a very negative one. They were unprofessional and , did not respect my time as a patient. It was my first time time trying to establish as a new patient and I must say I will never go back. After I was seeing by the dentist and got the ok to schedule my cleaning. They made me sit in the lobby waiting for over 10 minutes just to schedule an appointment and not only that. There was a lady that came out after I had been sitting there for 5 minutes she was called before me to schedule her appointment. That was upsetting because I'm pregnant and having to sit in a warm facility longer than I had to was very unecessary. I did not come in begging for free services. These are services that I am paying for and if I don't feel that I was treated fairly I am taking my business elsewhere. Where I'll be appreciated as a patient and my time will be respected. The location is extremely hectic as a prior employee it was very stressful work environment.management didn't seem to care about the overwhelmingness on employees. Unfortunately, I could only handle the chaos for so long. However while I was there received basic comp exam and cleaning like every other employee as a employee courtesy and 2 years later I get a bill for over 200 !! Not only is this poor billing but upon calling the office to let them know at the time it was a write as employee courtesy. Billing says "show proof" how can anyone have proof of something that should have been handled two years prior. Office has poor internal billing and I'm very disappointed in the way they handled this. I had a deep cleaning in June 2017. I came back June 2018 and expected a regular cleaning, instead they told me I needed another deep cleaning for which I would have to come back again for. I am 64 years old and been going to other dentist all my life and I always got a normal cleaning once a year. I think Gentle Dental is being GREEDY and wanted to do more work than needed. read more
