This dental office runs a "special" for $50, but they don't tell you that you will be billed an additional $143 for the exam. The special only covers xrays. We never once received a bill in the mail, but three years later we get a bill from a debt collection agency. I've never once not paid a bill that was due. I feel very insulted. Oh, and the opinion of the dentist giving my son a check up was that several of his baby teeth would need to be yanked out to make way for incoming permanent teeth, and they really push for you to use their contracted orthodontist. A second opinion from an unaffiliated orthodontist basically said that was f***n' crazy. Overall, this was a horrible experience. We will never return to this office and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

I am new to this clinic, and while I do like the dentist I saw, the rest of the place is extremely disorganized and scattered. I needed to get a quote for my upcoming visit so there'd be no surprises. I asked several weeks ahead of my appointment and no one bothered to call me with that info. I was supposed to have a co-pay and when i got there it almost doubled from what I 'thought' it would be. The woman at the desk finally got on the phone with the insurance at my insistence, or I imagine I would have had to overpay. I arrived at 8 am for an 8 am appt, and was not seen till close to 8:30, despite being the first one in the door. Advice, bring a book, water bottle and expect to play detective with the billing. If the dentist wasn't really nice I'd for sure go elsewhere. read more

Not a fan! First, they scheduled two different appointments for my initial appointment; one to get x-rays and see the dentist and one for a cleaning. These two appointments were there hours apart... Meaning, I would see the dentist/get xrays- hang out for 2 hours and then get a cleaning. I don't know about you, but I don't have three hours to spend at the dentist... and I definitely don't want to hang out in the waiting room for two hours between appointments. Second, it had a feeling of trying to sell me things. They would not let me choose to do just what my insurance covered, even if I promise to come back later to do their recommendations (which I had to pay out of pocket). read more

I urge readers to avoid this assembly line location. Lack of transparency in billing, charging, and staff management. They did not send my X-rays after I signed the appropriate papers. I never even knew the name of the dentist because he was in the exam room less than 15 seconds. Great place for all things dental. I have been coming to Gentle Dental Tri-Pointe for a while now and have had many appointments. The office staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The dental staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about the process, and they are always ready to explain what's going on, which is especially helpful for me. Over time, we have developed a doctor-patient relationship that allows us to communicate effectively and ensure everything is moving in the right direction. I have had various procedures done here, including regular cleanings, root canals, crowns, and more. Each time, they have done an excellent job and prioritized my satisfaction and health. For example, I occasionally experience jaw locking, and they are careful not to apply too much pressure on my jaw during procedures. I highly recommend giving them a try and checking if they accept your insurance or offer flexible billing options. It's definitely worth it! I was referred to the Gentle Dental Tri point for an emergency root camal- everyone there from the doctor to office staff was so kind and understanding. I was very emotional and overwhelmed with work I was getting done, as well as the expense. You wouldn't think choosing a dentist was difficult but apparently it has become something of a financial obstacle course. My last dentist shall go unnamed because of practices they had in which I agreed to a price and paid it and later found my insurance company was billed for $2,850 additionally. They didn't pay and I didn't either but I think this is obnoxious. In any event due to the Covid emergency I was way overdue for dental work and I found this placerecommended by my dental insurance company and close by because I go to the car wash across the street all the time. I'm delighted to report they're excellent. All my work was done skillfully and successfully and for reasonable prices. read more

I went in for my appointment at 10:30 AM. They did not have an appointment for me. They finally found my file under an incorrect spelling of my name and told me they'd fit me in. I waited for an hour in the waiting room repeatedly asking how long it would be and being told it would be "just a few minutes." I finally got called back after 1 hour and 7 minutes. When I finally got to the back room, they asked me if I had xrays. I told them I wasn't told to bring xrays with me and have never had access to them. They then told me they couldn't do anything without xrays so I was unable to have an appointment. There was no apology and apparently no one could have determined that I wasn't able to have an appointment while I was waiting for over an hour. read more

The receptionist Danny was very rude. After signing papers, I was told "If you're not going to wear a mask, you need to go outside" in a scolding loud voice like they were talking to a dog. It was how the agent had said it. The dentist Dr. Morris was not much better. I witnessed him being kind, patient and talkative with a Caucasian woman in the room across from mine but he was curt with me, a person of color and appeared to want to finish with my appt quickly. When I asked if there there were any appointments available he remarked that they did not know that yet,  almost yelling. I did not feel comfortable with Morris and resorted to asking the the hygenists my questions.  The dental assistant and hygienist in the room had better mannerisms. Will not be back. read more

If I could give the office staff and management zero stars I would. Switched to this dentist office for my cleanings since I was getting ortho appointments here. The office staff is different for dentist appointments from ortho. The dentist staff is always unorganized and twice I have shown up for an appointment and been turned away cause they don't have their paperwork in order. Something changed about this place in the last few years. I went there in 2008 and had a great experience. I hadn't been to the dentist for fifteen years at that point (I know!), and the dentist I had at the time was amazed at how healthy my teeth were. She told me that I would eventually need a couple crowns, but overall she was shocked at what great condition my teeth were in. Fast forward five years. I return to this location and there is an entirely new staff and dentists, and, according to them, I am bordering on periodontal disease and need "deep cleaning" and maintenance or I'm going to lose my teeth, even though nothing about my routine has changed. On my third visit I am told that certain things weren't covered in my previous visit, and I need to pay extra. Same thing on the fourth visit. At this point, I'm starting to feel a little suspicious. [BTW, Our new dentist explains that claims of looming periodontal disease are the most common way for unscrupulous dentists to gouge you and the insurance company for more money.] After my last visit I receive a bill for another $80 for procedures the insurance company supposedly didn't cover; however, according to the EOBs I'd received I had already OVERPAID by almost $20. I contact them about this twice, sending them copies of the EOBs and my receipts, and after three months they had still not gotten back to me. Nevertheless, I receive another bill stating that my account is now past due. I call the head office and I am told, in a very ambiguous fashion, that I owe for the irrigation treatments that I received that were not covered by insurance. So I contact my insurance company. On closer inspection, the receipts show four charges for $25 each for "irrigation-quad," which for some reason is coded with the catch-all dental code "4999." There were no claims submitted to the insurance company for these procedures, though the dentist is required to submit ALL procedures performed to the insurance company. They then determine what they will cover and inform you what you owe. Could this be because, according to the ADA, there is already a code for that procedure (9630) when it is performed SEPARATELY from a scaling a root planing (code 4241)? Or is it because it was performed in conjunction with that procedure, should therefore be included, and was simply padding my bill? I'm still waiting to hear Gentle Dental's explanation of this situation. It should be interesting. Nevertheless, I will NOT be returning, and I encourage you to be very wary. read more

If you have a choice of the dental office you can go to, don't go here, I had a molding for a crown in one tooth which fell out 4 days after it they put it in. I went back for another molding, they did the pre work for it and told me it had to sit for 10 minutes, 30 minutes later I was still waiting for them to finish it, my husband had to go find a dental assistant and ask when they were going to finish it. This dentists office has been going downhill for years now and we've come to a final culmination where we will no longer use them for our dental needs. The scheduling is horrific, cancellations are absurd, waiting in the chair for more than an hour to see the dentist is rude and disrespectful to clients' time, favorite hygienists are leaving in rapid pace and they are down to a skeleton crew. Dr Tuli and her staff have been top notch during the last 4+ years that my family and I have been coming to the Tri Pointe location. We 3, have came for cleanings and also to have some extensive work done! Dr Tuli is a smart, knowledgeable professional with many years of experience. She is a driving force to handle complicated dental situations and doesn't hesitate to collaborate with dental specialists on behalf of her patients as she did with my youngest daughter regarding her front tooth issues. She took care of my baby girl effectively and answered all of our questions with professionalism and compassion! I've had quite a bit of work done at Gentle Dental now. The dentist that I work with is actually very kind and considerate of my pain level. He will stop in a second if I put my hand up while he's working. He's always tried to figure out ways to save me time and money on the work I need done. He almost always comes up with a good option. With the extensive work I need done I knew it would take a lot of time and cost quite a bit. Fortunately my husband and I have good insurance. But even good dental insurance doesn't cover much. And face it, nobody likes paying a dentist for some reason. There will be charges for the work that they do. You don't expect any other business to work for free, unless you find a free clinic somewhere. The office manager was very good at working out payment plans with me and my husband. And once we established with them that we are trustworthy on keeping up with our side of the plan she has worked even harder at finding better ways for us. The people at the front desk have always been friendly and helpful. They have scheduled appointments as soon as possible and I have never had to wait long for one. If it is an emergency they take me in that same day, sometimes that same hour. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes in the waiting room, and that was because the person ahead of me was having problems. I would hope if I had problems the next person would understand. Sometimes I don't even have a chance to sit down before they are waiting to take me back. The other people that I see there do not seem to be having problems. I never heard anyone in the waiting room complaining about waiting too long. Most, at one point or another have conversation with the people behind the desk. Even if just a friendly conversation. I have never seen them intentionally ignore someone. Yes, they are a business. And yes, they sometimes make suggestions for procedures that do not need to be done. A lot of dental work is cosmetic and does not need to be done. It is your option to just say yes or no. I am very happy with the work that has been done on my teeth. My experience with something that nobody likes doing has been made as good as possible for me. My payments that nobody likes paying have been kept an an affordable level. And my experiences with everyone that works there have been A+++++. I would recommend this Gentle Dental office to anyone, even a good friend that I would have to hear feedback from. read more

Not a fan. We are patients of Gentle Dental but only at the Broadway location (next to target). This location I have asked my dr never to ask us to go because I do not like it. I actually didn't even get seen but my wife did and she didn't feel very welcomed nor did the lady at the counter who checked out us help us. Pretty sure we should be scheduled followup but they failed to do so. The Hispanic woman who checked us in was very sweet and conversational and we appreciate her taking care of us. I was a patient here for more than two years and had gotten braces here with the ortho Dr. Slivka. I went to three different locations for gentle dental over the years and they were all very clean and nice. The othodontist however forgot one of my teeth when I had my braces for the FULL 2 years. After I got my braces off in August 2019. they said they would put them back on to fix the tooth that they missed. They not only never called to reschedule but when I called a few months later, they had no record of them saying they would fix my smile. I went to have a crown cemented back on when I was new to Tucson, and never went back. I was told all kinds of things that needed to be done - none of which the next dentist I saw told me were needed. I continued to get calls from them for a year asking when I was going to set an appointment to get all the other stuff done - though they did finally quit calling when I was firm about having another dentist. My family has gone to this place for about a year, so we've had a few appts there. First, there's always a wait, even if you have an appt and even though the waiting room is empty. Second the hygienist I saw was way to chatty but that's my opinion. Third, and this is the last straw, one of us was having a severe tooth ache and went to see the dentist, he xrayed and sent us home saying nothing was wrong. Then they scheduled a follow up for like 3 weeks later--hello in PAIN here... When we called back about 2 days later asking them to please have the dentist look at the xrays again just to be sure something wasn't overlooked they refused to do that without an appt!!! what??? It wouldn't let me choose 0 stars. Please read before thinking about coming here!!! I came here a year ago to do some fillings, had an awful experience, went home hoping to not go back. After what should have been a quick recovery, I called this place on two different occasions asking to be seen because of the immense pain I was in, but I was told they had already corrected my bite with the filling and there was nothing they could do if I came in, and that the pain is probably sensitivity from the filling. After concluding to myself this was nothing short of a sad excuse for a dental office, I went on to have more problems like the floss threads ripping when flossing between that tooth, sensitive gums under it, and continuing pain. I definitely had a botched filling. About a year into waiting for the "filling sensitivity" to go away, I had enough of the pain and went to a different dentist. To put it shortly, I got a few different opinions from different places, who all said I needed a root canal from a CRACKED filling. I forked out about $1,000 for the root canal and crown, called back this "Gentle" Dental place and asked if they could help pay for the root canal because they refused to see me after I knew something was wrong, a week after they did my fillin I could tell the filling was cracked a week after I got it because of the floss ripping. They told me they can't give me anything, but if I would have come to them for the crown they could have given me a discount. First of all, nope never going back to this place even if someone dragged me, second of all, how convenient...you guys botch a simple filling procedure so I could come back and spend more money on a crown for a root canal? They also told me fillings can turn into a root canal sometimes..... but a week after the filling was done? And I wasn't allowed to be seen? This place is a joke. Readers BEWARE.....this is the worst dental office I've ever had the displeasure of going to. They're good at trying to invalidate you when you think something is wrong to save face so I'm sure if this review gets a response it will be a comical one. Update: I've already spoken to your office -- multiple times -- when they refused to help unless I gave them more money. And no, nobody has reached out to me since then. Don't pretend like you care about your patients just because this is public info now.... you didn't care a week after my filling when I was in unbearable pain and you didn't care when I found out you botched the filling and I needed a root canal. read more

I went into this Gentle Dental office with the understanding that they were 'in network' with my dental insurance, which covers a routine exam, cleaning twice a year and xrays once a year. Ended up with over $100 in copays, which I'd never had with any other dental group. Insurance paid an addition $35 towards the $100, and they refused to credit this to my account, insisted that I pay the $35 or have my account turned over to collections. They got their $35, and lost a patient. I'd have given zero stars if it was an option. BEWARE of their "creative" billing practices. read more

I was torn between a 2 and a 3 star, but 3 seems to be neutral and I do have a negative with Gentle Dental for not a single experience, but several which drove me away from this franchise. They are not a 1-star as I am sure there are some third world countries that operate in back alleys that may be worse. 1. The lady who schedules appointments routinely seems unable or unwilling to get a pre-estimate prior. Often I would get a sigh or or an eye-rolling tone as she attempts to blame my insurance for not responding quickly, yet when I contacted my insurance she had not submitted for a pre-estimate at all. 2. My daughter scheduled an appointment with Gentle Dental and they said they did not have the ability to take X-rays for as her mouth was too small. She is a petite adult, but surely there are children's sizes that may have accommodated!? 3. Dr Midei my initial dentist who was highly rated was great, but then I was shifted to two other dentists along the way with inadequate explanation of services and poor bed side manners. In fact the later Dentists and Hygienists were interested in selling me add-on services that are NOT covered with my insurance. The last dentists sighed and rattled off everything wrong with my mouth short of her perception of perfection, despite prior visits of a single concern or tarter buildup. Dr Tuli then, was unable to get proper digital; pictures or good visual X-rays nor was able to properly explain possible cavities and why I all of a sudden may have cavities after never having cavities in my life until age 43. She said I will just need to trust her that these dark spots are likely cavities and will know for sure when I am in the chair. Is this exploratory drilling? 4. I had to cancel an appointment due to an ER visit over the weekend and had to leave a voice mail to do so (not open on weekends) with the intention to reschedule after follow ups and labs were completed. However, I was met with apathy regarding my ER visit and the concern as a patient was met with a deafening sound of silence. When I did call back for rescheduling, I did not receive a call back after several messages. 5. So, I scheduled an appointment with a different Dentist and completed HIPPA compliant paperwork to send the X-rays and records from gentle dental two weeks in advance. The morning of my appointment, x-rays and records were not sent! Then after getting on the phone, faxing and emailing all records and x-rays still were not sent, only the Fmx(2014), so I had to get new X-rays that were just taken in NOV 2015, because Gentle Dental claimed I needed to fill out their HIPPA form. Really? That incident will be reported to the ADA, my insurance and the Attorney General. It appears that I am being punished for their substandard service and explanations. Please do not go to Gentle Dental or at least the one located at 6373 E Tanque Verde Rd #100, Tucson AZ 85715. Please learn from my errors in judgment where I gave Gentle Dental far too much benefit of the doubt. Go somewhere else. read more

Truly, the worst dental office ever !!! There was an over payment, by me, on my account which I have not been reimbursed in over 5 months now. I paid off my account after they received payment from primary insurance, before my secondary insurance was billed. My secondary insurance ended up paying part of the bill, resulting in an overage in the account, which was money I paid. I have called, email and called again to get my money back. They keep on giving me the run around and telling me they still need to look into it. IT'S BEEN 5 MONTHS and still nothing !!! No update, no check, no word from this dental clinic. All that F N., Laura C., and Bill W., were true, but not giving me my money back, and no acknowledgement and explanation from them, is the one that gets me so upset!! This is the worst dental practice that I have ever gone to. They treat you like cattle and do a half ass cleaning. But what is worse is their customer service and billing practices. They could not run my insurance on the day of my visit and they told me they would get it taken care of and bill me the patient portion. Several times they sent me a bill for the full amount without submitting the claim. Each time we called the Tucson office and told them we are happy to pay the patient portion but not the insurance portion. They agreed and said they would take care of it. They also promised the bill would not be sent to collections as they were going to work out the insurance issues. This visit was almost 11 months ago and today I was contacted by a collections agency for the amount of $30.18. There were no bills sent to us and no one ever contacted me prior to being sent to collections. I of course paid the balance due as I actually do what I say I will, unlike the unprofessional people at Dental Dental. I called their office manager Susie and told her that I was very unhappy with my experience and will never be back. Furthermore, I wanted to let her know I would be posting my very negative experience online to warn others of the poor service provided at Gentle Dental. I will tell everyone I know never to go to this awful place. I hope they are soon out of business! read more
