The dentist here are ok. The staff not so much. The business "manager" is very unprofessional and very rude. My husband had a lot of work that needed to be done and we were asked to pre-pay it. We asked if we can pay as it was being done, they refused. We paid thousands of dollars worth of work he didn't end up getting done here. My daughter had the same permanent crown done several times, because they couldn't get it done right. It kept falling off, we kept having to come in and pay each time we came in, why do we need to keep paying for something that isn't getting done right? I loved the first mouth guard I got here , so I paid for a replacement. This first replacement is much, much thicker than the original and is not comfortable to wear throughout the day. I asked if I could have it remade the way my original mouth guard was. They agreed to remake it and said I could swap them. I understood that this was probably just a miscommunication; I should have been clearer that I wanted the mouth guard made the exact same way when I ordered the first replacement. The second replacement is thinner, but made out of a different (hard plastic) material that I struggle to get on and off my teeth. I never expected them to change materials, so I did not think I needed to specify. I ended up paying another few hundred dollars so that they would let me keep the first replacement. It isn't comfortable to wear all day, but it is less uncomfortable. I tried to communicate what I wanted clearly the second time. It didn't work. I paid for two mouth guards, and neither is what I asked for. read more

Please, save you time, insurance benefits and money and do not go to this office. I took my daughter here at the start of February. The dentist refused to give me a priority list for what she needed done, would not answer questions and was super dismissive. The staff was incompetent, lying and giving false information repeatedly. I asked to speak with a manager in February 5th. To this day no response. They outright refuse to give me copies of my daughter's x-rays and dental records or release them to them to her other dentist. The office tried to charge a thousand dollars more than both offices that we got second opinions from and even misdiagnosed several issues we had. Stay clear from this office. Always have a great experience here. They let me choose how they communicate with me, and it's really convenient to be able to interact by text message, complete forms online, and get confirmations by email. Their equipment is also high-end. Most dentists just come in after the hygienists are done, look at your teeth and go. Here, the dentist took time to explain my X-rays to me, and the exam is super thorough because the dentist actually does the plaque removal while evaluating your teeth, where the dental hygienist does the brush and floss before. Had my teeth whitened here too and the experience was great. I had concerns about how I was applying the touch up whitener at home and they actually gave a me a FREE brief follow-up appointment at short-notice to check my teeth and answer my concerns. I haven't needed any work done beyond the cleanings, exams, and whitening, so I can't speak to that experience, but I definitely recommend this dentist based on my visits so far. read more

Dr Loi D. Nguyen and Gentle Dentistry was my best experience yet going to the dentist. I had to get a back tooth pulled and it was by far the least painful experience I have ever experienced going to the dentist. Not only did they fit me in for a emergency procedure during the COVID19 crisis, they saw me within 2 hours of the call. I don't know any other place where they take their patients with such amount of time notice and do a great job from start to finish. Gentle Dentistry was truly a gentle and quick experience. Had the worst experience and keep in mind it was 2 + years ago but it was horrible. I had a root canal and at the end she gave me an x-ray and no meds. I asked her about if I got an infection and she said that is why she did the x-ray. Well, that weekend my mouth, jaw, and neck swelled up with an infection. It was painful and I called the office but it was closed. Called another office who acted like they cared and said they would contact my dental office first thing Monday morning. Monday morning came and went. I called in and no one knew what I was talking about and sounded annoyed. I went in and got a male dentist who kept asking me what the other dentist did and why I didn't get meds? Umm you tell me you guys are the dentists! So had a crap weekend, painful infection, missed work on Monday, no apologies, no discount on the crappy root canal, and a big swollen face. And nothing "gentle" about the way I was treated. I'm an adult who still panics in the waiting room at the dentist office even when I'm in for a basic cleaning, but this is the best dentist I've ever had. To say I was nervous about my root canal is an extreme understatement- but it was seriously so painless. I still can't believe how easy it was, never once did I feel discomfort and the Dentist who worked on my tooth made sure I was okay the entire time. If you're having work done- don't panic this place is great, take your headphones and just relax. I'm so thankful to the staff here! read more

I am a researcher at the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and this is what happened to my dad when he went to get two crowns placed. My sister and I went to get our teeth cleaning done at Gentle Dentistry because it had awesome reviews, people really seemed to like them. So we recommended our dad to go there when he needed two crowns (he doesn't have dental insurance so he had to pay everything out of pocket). Towards the end of his procedure, he felt that a crown was left too high and felt a gap. He told the dentist before he left about feeling the crown too high and the dentist said that there shouldn't be a problem since he brushed his teeth well. 5 months from that procedure, he felt a sharp pain that not even regular pain medication helped. He went back to the dentist to tell him about it and they said that it just needed to be filed down, and so they did that. He went home with a filed down crown and with prescribed ibuprofen for the pain. Well, the pain would not go away, he couldn't sleep, eat, or even talk. After a few days he noticed that a ball of pus had formed. He went back to let them know and they took X-rays, cleaned out the pus, and filed down the crown one more time. However, after filing down the crown the dentist for some reason just decided to go ahead and take the crown out and have it redone. He also mentioned that the X-rays were fine and that as a last option they would have to do a root canal. To top it all off, they were going to send him home without a prescription for antibiotics!!! What kind of dentist does that after seeing pus come out of the gums? Well my dad started to loose trust on them and decided to get another opinion and do the root canal somewhere else if needed. I ask myself, why would they says he needed a root canal if the X-rays came out fine like they said. Well, I took my dad to this other dentist. As soon as they did the X-rays he knew what was wrong, basically all the bone under the tooth had rotten away and the tooth was basically free floating in this air pocket which every time he would eat bacteria would go in and form an infection, that there was no way anyone could clean it with just regular brushing. He recommended just removing the tooth and getting an implant which meant not only had he paid out of pocket for the crown placement and procedure in Gentle Dentistry but now he had to pay for a tooth extraction, implant, and the whole procedure. Seeing that the X-ray told them all that made me question why Gentle Dentistry could not read the X-ray and told him everything looked fine. Imagine if he had gone through with the root canal, he would have paid that out of pocket only to find out that he still needed to take that tooth out because that was not the problem. Now the tooth extraction and implant procedure will be around $4000 at this other place he started going. Now we are left wondering if all this could have been avoided if the crown was put on properly. But even if this was not due to the fact that the crown was not put properly all the way down like it was supposed to be, I still question this dentistry with the fact that my dad already had an infection and they were going to send him home without antibiotics (infections without medication can go septic meaning the bacteria can enter the bloodstream and cause harm at body organs) and that they said the X-ray was fine when obviously it was not, only to say he needed a root canal when there was already no more bone anchoring down the tooth. My sister and I won't be going back after all this; I am scared that something like this might happen to me now. Update:3.11.15 They offered to return the money for the crown. It took them moths for my dad to see the check and constant calling of the office to remind them. My sister had to call the office and that is when finally the check arrived. However, it was not the total cost he paid. They refuse to pay the full amount, paid $100 extra for the porcelain upgrade from what I can see in the treatment plan. read more

I've been going to this Dentist since they opened. They are awesome and I highly recommend them to anyone. What I love about them is they are open on Saturdays which works best for me and my family. I'm going to get braces from them next month... they've been asking me for 6 years lol, finally pulling the trigger. They are real professionals and friendly. My 6 year old loves them too. They were very nice. Clean office. My dental procedure failed. I had a bridge put in lower left. It came off a few months later. They glued back, but stated I needed implants because there was not enough tooth to promise it would stay on. Hummm, really??? The bridge came off again, dont know where it went. I went to two other dentists who both promised that they could put a bridge on and it would stay. The problem was my insurance stated they would not cover it because it should have lasted 10 years. New patient in my late 70s with relatively good teeth and years of seeing dentists in three different states. Both dentists at Gentle Dentistry are kind, caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Le handled my initial exam. During my first-ever deep cleaning, Dr. Nguyen did a filling in a difficult-to-access spot and kept watch on staff who seemed to need little supervision. The deep cleaning was far less traumatic than I expected after reading about it on the web. Office staff are consistently courteous and responsive.
