I had a toothache back in December and was told (by another dental office) that a regular dentist wouldn't be able to help me and that they could only help me in about a month if I go through insurance. When I went to Gentle Teeth, they were able to make a plan of treatment and start it immediately!! Dr. Perez was so great. She was patient with me, as I wasn't the easiest patient, and the entire staff was very professional and nice. The friendliness of the staff is projected not only by how they treat you, but also by how well they work together. I was very impressed by the office, the staff, the doctor, the treatment, the equipment....everything! If you've ever had a toothache that you know requires a root canal, you know the pain I've been dealing with. It's great to know I'll be able to eat without worrying about biting down on my nerve! THIEVES, they will charge you up the WAZOO! Don't fall for the upsell! Only transferred into this practice a year ago and they insisted on doing a full deep cleaning debridement for every cleaning... The first time I agreed since I had come from somewhere else, but just a few months later they still pressed me for a full mouth gum scraping deep clean when I made the appointment asking for my annual cleaning? For someone that hasn't had a cavity in 15 plus years, naturally straight teeth and no issues I find that hard to believe this is standard practice... When I refused I was told I have to sign a document saying I am refusing the recommended care. At that point I was over it... I asked again for the basic preventative cleaning which my insurance pays for and they claimed they don't "do basic cleanings because it's "just a polish" and not a real cleaning. Maybe that's their hustle? Every single dental office I had been to before does the standard cleanings and THEN recommend other services and I have NEVER been forced to sign anything for just getting the basic preventative maintenance which everyone in the US gets standard with most, if not all dental plans. The woman at the front has an extremely condescending attitude pretty much chimed in to say "we are a private dental office and we can refuse to do basic services at the doctor's discretion." I guess I forgot, maybe I was in a communist country where the medical offices were run by the government... This is America right? Cause every dental office I have ever been to in 3 different states in my 40+ years of life were ALL private dental offices. I am not sure if she was trying to make a dig at me for being a POC or what? Not sure since everyone in there looks like they could all be related, fact, if you see the pics on their website and on Google this is blatantly obvious. Ms. Attitude tried to tell me they can make an "exception for me as a first and last time," as if they were doing me a favor to give me what the insurance I pay for provides, which is Aetna btw, a major carrier. At this level I just said cancel the appt, I am not sure what type of business they are running but be aware. They will upsell you to the high heavens and insult you when you refuse. They solicit for positive reviews all over the web, by mail, Facebook etc. I get their mailers at my home weekly. They are pretty much a dental Ponzi scheme at this point! read more

Not really a fan of this place. Got clearance from Insurance that they would take it. Then showed up to appointment to find out that HMO plan only covers a portion. Found out I had to pay 115 for cleaning with X-rays and another 290 for three fillings filled. I got the work done but during the entire cleaning visit was commented on where I need to brush better. Why I need to take my wisdom teeth out. I felt like this was a money making scheme. Did I really have that many cavities? I had seen a dentist a year ago before seeing this one. Decided to go back for the second visit to get fillings done. Was told they were going to do 5 I said no I will only do 3. Dentist was kinda rough and assistant was in training. Had multiple fingers in my mouth which is not comfortable. Had to wait a half hour just to be seen. Not sure if gentle teeth is an adequate name for this place. I won't be back. read more

Being one of those people who have "dentophobia," one could imagine my fear when my primary dentist referred me to a specialist to get a root canal. I had only had one cavity in my life, so the thought of a root canal was terrifying. After hearing what the specialist that she referred me to would charge, not only was I in fear of getting the procedure done I was also afraid for my wallet. After asking around and hearing horror stories about root canals, my coworker told me he had several in his life but there was no place like GentleTeeth & Braces. I was greeted by a friendly staff and the waiting room was very inviting. Dr. Reshma Baddaloo performed my root canal without any pain or discomfort at ALL. Honestly I don't think I've ever gone to a dentist who had hands as gentle as Dr. Reshma. She was amazing and the procedure was painless. I would definitely be back for another visit. This place has been great ever since I started getting my teeth clean. A special shout to Jeanette. Now I have to say this. My sister is a Dental Hygienist but I would still come to Gentle Teeth. (Even though my sister is the best Dental Hygienist in the world) ;-). But that just goes to show you how good this place is. From the cleanliness of the office to the treatment from the staff, and even the Doctors have been good. They have taken the time to explain any and everything when it comes to the treatment of my teeth; from simple questions to complicated ones that might come around. Unfortunately yelp does not allow you to assign zero stars. I am going to echo other reviews further below. I called and made an appointment for my grandmother. During the call, I gave the front desk my grandmother's insurance information. When we showed up for her appointment, all went down hill. First, as I was filling in the new patient forms, they came for my grandmother. I asked to go with them so I could hear what the doctor said (my grandmother is 93 and hard of hearing), but they told me she was just going for X-rays and they would bring her right back. After 30 minutes, they hadn't returned. I approached the front desk to inquire, and they led me to her room where the doctor had already performed his examination and was telling my grandmother his findings (and she clearly couldn't hear him). Strike one. Next, I asked them to print out the treatment plan. They came back with a treatment plan for thousands of dollars. I told them that her insurance plan covers the costs, at which point they told me she doesn't have insurance. I showed them her insurance card, but they said the insurance card was from last year, so her insurance may no longer be active as of this year. They showed me a database that showed her insurance as being inactive. I got the insurance company on the phone with them, and the insurance company confirmed that her insurance is indeed active. I thought that would settle the matter. However, they then told the insurance company they don't accept the insurance. The insurance company explained they are on the insurance company's website as an in-network provider, and the only way that could happen is if they signed up. I also showed the assistants the website where they are listed as an in-network provider (that is how I found them by the way). I also inquired as to why no one told me between me first requesting an appointment and them providing services that they thought that a) her insurance wasn't active and b) that they didn't accept the insurance. I had even inquired when I first called to make the appointment if they accepted the insurance and they said "yes". If I had known they didn't, I would not have come. At this point the front desk assistant was clearly annoyed and told me and the insurance company that her manager says they don't accept the insurance and that the insurance company's systems were wrong. I was subsequently charged $80.00 for the visit. Please do not come here. Even if you do everything right (give the practice your insurance, check with the insurance company before hand to confirm network status) they will hold you responsible for their lack of communication and charge you anyway. Thankfully my insurance company reimbursed me once I explained Gentle Teeth's error. It was a terrible experience, compounded by the lack of customer service exhibited by the front desk assistant at the end. There are plenty of great dentists in South Florida, no need to come here. read more

First time reviewing a dentist office but here goes...I'm a dude. I brush my teeth, I floss (not as much as I should) but I needed a place that fit my schedule. I went to a dental office several years ago with model like hygienists that were on their advertisements. Big mistake. Tried pushing ~$1000 in services on me. Gentle Teeth has flexible hours to get my appointments after work. I get the same hygienist every time. I rarely wait more than 10 minutes to be seen and I've yet to be pushed some ridiculous service. The place is clean, the staff is rad, and the doc answered all of my obscure dental questions I have! 4 stars? Well I only gave it 4 stars because during peak hours, parking might be an issue because they share the complex with a few other offices. Don't let it reflect on their service. Just be aware that parking could be scarce. read more

Gentle Teeth - Waiting on my cleaning - Pediatric Dentists Near Me - Pembroke Pines, Florida

Waited weeks for an appointment but understood it was the soonest available. They gave me an appointment time then when they text you the confirmation days before your appt, the time is different. They them still call to confirm and when I questioned the difference in times (by an hr) they told me oh yes you can come at the original time, It'll be better for the Dr to stay on time. I showed up to the office with my child and saw a sign saying only the patient is allowed in the back. As I'm checking in, I asked to verify if I would be allowed to the room with my daughter as I do not let her go into Dr's rooms alone. They assured me it was fine and one parent was allowed to go in with her. When they called my daughters name, the dental assistant refused to let me go in with my daughter and said this is their policy. She told me I was misinformed. She continued to try to tell me that boys and girls always go by themselves as I reassured her they are not my children and this is my own parenting. She told me well you don't have to be seen here then. The office manager agreed with her and I left with my child. I agreed and reported them to my insurance company as they are currently on their list of providers. My daughter has a neurological history of fainting where I can see when it is happening and have caught her 3 times before falling and hitting her head possibly. I shouldn't have to explain this and as a parent, if I'm not comfortable or my child is uncomfortable without me there, there shouldn't be an issue. Their "gentle staff" isn't as gentle as they portray themselves to be. Also, just to add, the seats in the waiting room are all stained where we had to find one that didn't look gross. Check In & Check out was great! Aside from that, I left work early and used my personal time off to assure I arrived on time...to only have to wait over an hour for my son cleaning that literally took five minutes. Front desk communication is poor. Misinformation was provided to me by the dentist regarding my son treatment and follow up with the Ortho. When I spoke with the Orthodontist Chanda Samuel regarding what was previously advised to me by the dentist, when we came in for my son X-Ray and cleaning in 2022 which was to wait until his baby teeth came out so the adult teeth can come down before I followed up with the Ortho as spacers wouldn't be necessary at this point. I explained to the Ortho and to be honest I didn't appreciate his tone with me and I felt like I was being chastised, which put a bad taste in my mouth. Although he attempted to turn things around, the damage was already done! It takes 40 minutes for me to commute to this office and it was honestly a waste of my time and overall poor experience. Oh and btw the treatment plan that originally was around $4000 increased to $7000 due to misinformation that was provided to me. Switching to a different provider. read more

This is the BEST Dental Clinic I've ever been to. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and especially HONEST. My Dental Hygienist always works with me to avoid getting expensive cleanings. She comforts me during uncomfortable procedures by asking how I'm doing, applying chapstick so my lips won't dry, just awesome!!! The Dentists are friendly and don't charge for every minute they spend with you like some places. I initially chose this provider for my children because they accept our florida kidcare dental plan. My son has braces and my daughter didn't. They tell me they have to do a special cleaning because he has braces and it's not covered by insurance. Ok, we decided to go ahead, pay out of pocket for that, and the cleaning procedure they do is the same as what the kids get from there previous dentist. My daughter doesn't have braces so she gets the cleaning covered by insurance but it's just someone using a toothbrush and rinse and that's it (WTF???). They also gave me some printouts of tooth work that the kids needed that were not covered by insurance (big surprise..) The previous dentist (we left because it was hard to get and keep appointments) we used never said anything about braces being an issue nor did they say it required a different cleaning method not covered by insurance because of braces. The previous dentist also never used a toothbrush to clean there teeth other than to demonstrate good brushing habits. read more

The ladies at the front were very polite and called to remind me about my appointment that I had to change twice but were very accommodating since i wanted my husband and I to go at the same time. We both got the privilege to have Alberto as our dental hygienist who was very nice, funny, careful, and throughout with both cleanings. Then to top it off our doctor, Dr. Reshma Baddaloo, was extremely knowledgeable, kind and gave us some great advice and tips to keep up with our healthy teeth and gums. First of all let me begin with I have been coming here for almost 3 years and now I am truly regretting it.... my teeth are all sensitive (I'm a candy eater so I usually get cavities) so after waiting over an hour they tell me nothing is wrong with my tooth when I can clearly stick my nail in there and I get a shooting pain and the doctor just says oh it's your natural gap in between your teeth like I'm an idiot and don't know that... I'm just disgusted with this place and their staff is not smart at all they are slow and try to be friendly but it's all fake and I will never come back here I regret spending so much money here. I am going to a new dentist next week to see what is wrong with my teeth hopefully they didn't mess up my teeth entirely. I will give them three stars because I have been a patient of theirs since 2015, along with my children. Now, I will say that they do excellent cleanings. My children and I try to make it there every six months because dental health is very, very important to me. What I am angry about is the orthodontic care. I was in braces from April 2015 - June 2017. Firstly, my space between my canine and my first two side teeth would never close. I was told it was due to the position of that tooth. Okay. Since having my braces removed in June 2017 - now, my permanent retainers have come loose at least five times, costing me over $1,000 to have reglued, even at one time had to shell out $360 to have the other retainers that I'm advised to wear at night made again, since the glue falling off of my permanent retainers made my teeth shift after thousands of dollars spent on braces. Okay, this morning I went in for a cleaning. In April 2020 I went in to have my permanent retainers reglued, because as I said I don't know what they use in this office but the glue starts coming lose within two days. I can get by a few months until the glue is completely gone and the retainer falls off. Well, the dental hygienist today showed me with a mirror that the upper permanent retainer is basically in my gums, my teeth are caked in glue and only the ends of the permanent retainer are on my upper canines. I got so angry I requested to see the doctor, because I've already spent thousands on braces then you spend a few hundred to have the permanent retainers affixed to your teeth so that you don't have to wear the removable retainers 24/7. Now, I don't know how much I'm about to be charged to fixed the lady who affixed these retainers on my teeth in April 2020 to be removed. I will continue coming for the cleanings but I am now searching for a new orthodontist to unfortunately pay for braces again and put my children in braces. I can't continue shelling out money when I feel they should use a better adhesive so that the permanent retainers never fall off. The way my mouth and teeth are today is ridiculous and embarrassing to say the least and I'm livid about it. read more

This is the worst experience ever. The most unprofessional dental office.I have had to speak to the office manager Carla multiple times about errors that her staff has made. They have had to cancel my appointments multiple times due to bad scheduling. the schedule me on days the hygenist or the dentist is not there and then call me the day before to state the mistake and change the appointment. Then I go to the dentist and its a whole new dentist, the failed to tell me the other dentist left. The final straw was today when I get a call from the office stating they "forgot" to charge me for services rendered the last time I was there. The young lady signed me in and never told me I would have to pay a co payment for the services prior to treatment and then signed me out and still didn't tell me about co payment. I had a a filling with Dr. Sharma who was excellent and very professional. I have extreme anxiety and phobia when it comes to getting dental work. I was always under the impression that I would have to use IV anesthesia to have anything done. Dr. Sharma managed to get me to try a filling using novocaine, which was a success. Some of the negative aspects of the office was that the mouth attachment for the x-ray machine had teeth marks on it, because of this I refused to put them in my mouth. I was given a styrofoam piece but told that it doesn't produce pictures as good as the plastic attachment, which sucks. I was over charged by about $25 for a filling and I had to place a complaint with my insurance company in order to try and get my money back. One of the codes that I paid for in full wasn't even submitted to the insurance company by them. The office manager Carla likes to give a lot of pointless excuses. Lastly I was given an appointment with a provider that is out of network for my insurance for a needed root canal. I would've had to pay $960 after insurance which is ridiculous. I was given the explanation that the procedure costs more because it has to be done with a specialist. Rather than them telling me that Dr. Mangon is not in network for my insurance. The services are okay. The office is clean. The staff is polite. I would say to research your coverage prior to coming and ask for them to send a treatment estimate to your insurance company before having any work done to prevent being overcharged. read more

Do yourself a favor and don't come here. I never write reviews but the way I was treated today is unacceptable. I called to make an apt and made it very clear as to avoid any issues that I had insurance and provided the member number ID to my insurance plan. I told the lady I wanted to verify coverage before coming and she said she would. Since no one called me saying there was any issue finding my policy I came to my apt. Upon arrival they said they weren't able to find me (lady wrote down my number wrong) after about 45 min. Of calling insurance and verifying coverage, I am finally taken to the back. I sit in the chair and am told my copay will be 115$ after my insurance agent just told me 15$. I told them all I wanted was the basic cleaning. The hygienist told me that I needed a "medium clean" lol never heard of that but I told him all I wanted was a basic cleaning and what is covered under my policy. I have had two basic cleaning a year and they are plenty thorough and take around 30 minutes each time and I've gone to MANY different places. He proceeded to give me the basic clean and when I say that it was under THREE MINUTES I am not exaggerating. He applied a toothpaste that was supposed to be polished in with the polishing tool, he didn't do that he applied it in under 10 seconds and washed off partially with water. Then he flossed my teeth and told me it was over. I could sense his frustration about me not wanting to pay for his BS "medium cleaning" and spend another 100$ I have now been in another room waiting to get my X-rays done for 30 minutes and no one has come in here. I've been in this office 2 hours of wait time and 3 minutes of actual dental attention. I will never come back here and you shouldn't waste your time either. read more

More accurately 0 stars..I had THE WORST experience at Gentle Dental. I have used this office before for cleanings for myself and my kids however today I went to bring my daughter to get her two cavities filled. As my daughter was placed in the chair the hygienist reached for the nitrous oxide however did not go over the plan of care. Prior to the apt they did not notify me that my child was not to eat two hours before the appointment. As I questioned the hygienist it didn't appear that she understood my concerns or was able to answer my questions. They then brought in the office manager to apologize stating that the nitrous oxide was not in the initial plan of care (which didn't matter anyway because the only thing they notified me of prior to the appointment was how much it cost for the two filings). As a medical professional myself I was sorely disappointed and shocked how close my daughter was to potentially being harmed all because they didn't Appear to be properly trained. This was evident by the amount of mistakes that was made in this experience. The only thing it appeared that they made sure to inform me about was payment. Consumer beware. I take every precaution when it comes to my kid. Knowledge is power. read more

Don't waste your time. They simply want to perform unnecessary procedures and lie. First when I call they tell me its the "LAW" that you have to get x-rays done when you see the doctor. When I questioned this (because it makes no logical sense) they put the office manager on who proceeds to also tell me its the law. When I ask for the specific law, they change and say its there office policy instead. When I go (after waiting an hour), they perform a "gum test" to determine the level of cleaning I need. They tell me I need a "medium" cleaning and my insurance doesn't cover it and its going to be $120 out of pocket. I refuse because I've never heard of a medium cleaning and ask for the regular cleaning that I'm entitled to on a semi-annual basis through my insurance (i.e., Prophylaxis). They say OK. The girl starts and all she does is brush my teeth with the machine and swab fluoride. They tell me this is the regular cleaning that my insurance covers. I call my insurance (to confirm I'm not crazy) and they tell me the Prophylaxis is the "regular cleaning" and they have no idea what a medium cleaning is. I was referred to Gentle Teeth by a coworker that has been going there for quite some time. I had an early morning appointment and was greeted by the staff. Everyone was very nice. I filled out my paper work and didn't wait at all to be seen. I haven't been to the dentist in a few years so I was kinda nervous but Antonio the Dental Hygienist was really nice and assured me everything will be ok. He took x-rays and pictures of my mouth and Dr. sharma came in to do a cancer screening (I'm an occasional smoker) and check out my teeth. I ended up doing a medium cleaning which was kinda painful but what dental procedure isn't. They also accept carecredit which is awesome if your tight on money. Took my family to this dentist after a bad expire cue with another dentist. All I can say is I found the perfect dentist office. Friendly front desk staff, excellent hygienist, honest and nice dentist. Best cleaning I ever had. I had 3 cavities instead of the 7 or 8 the other dentist told me. We also were tested for the deep cleaning rather than assumption from the other dentist. Deep cleaning was not needed for me and recommended for my husband. They were awesome with my kids! This was the first time visiting this office with my husband after an unsettling experience at another dental practice. Needless to say, the previous dental practice my husband went to gave him a huge estimate on all the dental work he would need. At no time did they say that this cost was because they were out of network. Instead, they tried to persuade him to get the work needed done at their office. Well, I wasn't having that so I found Gentle Teeth and scheduled a consultation with Dr. Sharma for my husband. Dr. Sharma is amazing!! He explained everything to my husband and I and gave us a treatment plan that included a breakdown of the specialist my husband needs to see in the order of what needs to be addressed first, and his office even gave us a breakdown of cost and explained to us that if we go to providers in-network, the cost will be much lower.
