First the good: They do have a great bedside manner at this place. Everyone in this place is very friendly and talk to you like a person, not a number. Now the bad: I am a little disappointed at how EXPENSIVE everything here is when you are a private-pay patient. They didn't even offer me some kind of discount considering I went in for a new patient special which was supposed to be like $80 and wound up spending almost $2k. Yes, you read that right. I'm not saying that I didn't need to have the work done, but they knew that I was uninsured and didn't even warn me about how much money each of the individual items was going to cost me. Like, was it really necessary to get the 360 xray? I mean that wasn't exactly cheap! I have been a patient of Dr. Gilbert for a few years now and am always impressed by how professional and caring the staff is. Dr. Sharon has a great touch, never once hurting us,and she has yanked many of my poor children's teeth out, and they think she is awesome. If she has to give them an injection, they never complain. My little son would always squeal with fear at his previous dentist, who specialized in pediatrics!!The assistants and hygenists are also wonderful. The office is very up to date and high tech. They are always timely and I have never waited for an appointment. This is a case of getting what you pay for, quality care and professinal services. We are terribly unhappy with the quality of dental care we received at Weston Dental Care by the husband and wife team of dentists, the Gilberts. Not only did they fill cavities in my husband's teeth with onlays when much less expensive amalgam fillings would do, but the onlays in both my husband's and my teeth were poorly seated, allowing in bacteria and setting the stage for early decay. Onlays are supposed to last many years but my husband has had to have one of his taken out after only two years because of the poor seating, and I have one that is being watched closely by my current dentist. This office chases after your insurance dollars, often to the detriment of your teeth. Nice chair-side manner, though. read more

Dr. Andres and his staff are impeccable. They truly set the standard for which all medical professionals should follow. They don't rush you, and make you feel like you're the only patient in the building. Going into my first appointment I looked Dr Andres in the eyes and told him that he was my biggest fear. (I've always been afraid of the dentist) he sat there and talked to me man to man and really made me feel significantly more comfortable about getting work done. I have been going to this office for 5 years now and love it. Friendly staff and Dentist. They have innovative technology where you can see pictures of your teeth and x-rays on the screen. This past visit, they explained an issue with my tooth. They not only explained the issue, but they were able to show me the issue via a video camera that projected onto the monitor. It is as good as it gets. Everything is first class from Doctor Sharon Gilbert to her entire staff. I neglected my dental care for years mostly because I hated going to dentists. Westin Dental changed that mind set. Doctor Sharon could not have been more accomodating by working around my odd business and travel schedule. He is a specialist who obtained his master's degree in NY and has about 20 years experience as a dentist, although he looks young :) His philosophy relies on a personalized quality treatment. From start to finish I received 5 star service today from Dr. Carbunaru and his entire team at Weston Dental Care. I had severe tooth/gum pain over the weekend. At 7:30am Monday morning I was looking another dentist in Weston, Fl as several had let me down and didn't provide good service. Upon walking into Weston Dental Care, the front desk manager informed me that the Dr. Carbunaru would be able to see me. I asked what the out of pocket costs would be for the initial review and x-rays and they were quite reasonable compared to other Weston Dentist who tend to overcharge! Furthermore, Dr. Carbunaru spent a lot of time with me explaining the x-rays and camera shots as well as checked out my mouth to see what else might be troubling me. We followed up with a cleaning since I had not had one for a while. The dental hygienist was just as through as Dr. Carbunaru and was very professional in explaining how to be more preventative of bacteria, plaque and cavities. When checking out, the expenses today were quite minimal and I was quite happy with services received today from everyone! I am finally proud to say who my dentist is (Dr. Carbunaru) to friends and family in Weston and that I am looking forward to coming back in 6 months for my next cleaning! Very disappointing experience. The people who work here are very nice. One PROBLEM, nice wont get your teeth fixed. If you want to make friends go to facebook, if you need your teeth fixed stay away from Weston Dental Care. After repeated attempts to install crowns they finally told me that was as good as it's gonna get. THEY SIMPLY COULD NOT GET IT DONE RIGHT. Now less than a year later I am spending thousands to get it done right by a competent dentist. The one thing they are good at is taking your cash. Very expensive. I have to say that this dentist office is the WORST of the WORST! First off, the office staff was completely rude and Dr. Gilbert (the wife) is the WORST dentist ever! Let me just start by saying that if you don't like to work with children then don't accept to have them as patients. I brought my daughter to this dentist when she was about 5 or 6 years old and she said her baby tooth needed a root canal. I had heard that you should never put them through that on a baby tooth because it falls out anyway. Well, she insisted and $600 dollars later the tooth grew an abscess 2 weeks after she performed a 2 hour root canal and then she said, "Oh well, looks like we will have to pull the tooth." So I had to pay another $150 dollars for that. Another issue was that they do not have x-ray bite wings small enough for a child's mouth so my daughter had a hard time biting down for the x-ray and the lady freaked out and said that she was not going to expose herself to radiation for this bullshit. Seriously??? And the real kicker was that Dr. Gilbert told me that my daughter had a lot of cavities that still needed treatment and that I was pretty much a bad parent for allowing my daughter to have an occasional Dr. Pepper. So I decided to go to a Pediatric dentist instead of dealing with their utmost RUDENESS and money hungry mannerisms and the pediatric dentist took x-rays (which my daughter had no problem with) and she told me that she had absolutely NO cavities at all and that she had no clue what Dr. Gilbert was talking about! OMG! If I would have stayed at Weston Dental Care I would have spent a fortune on nothing but rude attitudes and trauma to my daughter for no reason at all! Please, please do not go to this dentist. There are so many other dentist's out there to choose from. I truly hopes this review helps someone before they experience what I had to at this awful place. read more

Watch out for the "bait and switch" routine. I am new to the area and called Weston Dental Care for an initial check-up and cleaning, providing my dental insurance information at that time. On the day of my appointment (a week later) I again provided my insurance information as requested. After the the check-up I met with the dentist who informed me that I needed four fillings replaced (not mentioned by my previous dentist seven months prior). She went on to inform me that my dental insurance would cover a large portion. She then took my credit card to "hold an appointment". A few days later I was informed that my insurance did not cover anything because Weston Dental Care is not in an insurance network but they thought I would be covered by my plan. I called my insurance provider and was informed that Weston Dental Care did not make contact to verify coverage until 3 hours AFTER my initial appointment. As you might guess, my credit card "deposit" is being used as partial payment for my initial appointment and I am being sent a bill to cover the rest. Although the service was very good, (the dental assistant was very professional, informative, and pleasant), it is obvious that the dentist is trying to generate income, I even recieved several business cards to pass along. Beware and check with your provider first or demand that the office show you a copy of the insurance coverage denial or acceptance BEFORE you give them your method of payment! read more

If you are going to use this Dental Practice make sure to go to Dr. Carbunaru,and NOT to Dr. Sharon Gilbert. Especially if you have children. She is terribly impatient and rude. I have four children who were patients there and I had such a terrible experience recently that I refuse to go back. It all started when my son had an appointment where some cavities were to be filled. She started, but did not complete the work because she had to leave for an appointment. When we came back 2 weeks later to have the work completed she was bothered by the fact that I wanted to stay in the room with him while the dental work was completed. He is only 7 and he was very scared. She was very rude and didn't seem to be understanding or sympathetic towards a child who was nervous over having cavities filled. She put Novocaine in his mouth and left the room. When she left I told her assistant that I was shocked by her behavior and that I felt Dr. Gilbert was very rude. I explained that in the future I would only bring my children to see Dr. Carbunaru who has always been extremely professional. The assistant apparently told Dr. Gilbert what I said because she came back into the room, got in my face and said "I heard you said I was rude. Just for that, I am not going to finish the work on your son." I was shocked. She had just put his mouth to sleep with the Novocaine and now she was refusing to do any work. She said its her practice and she can do what she wants. I have never experienced anyone more unprofessional in my life. I will never again take my children back to her practice. Its too bad, because there are other quality people at that office. She is hurting her own practice and sadly, the nice people that work for her. read more
