Tech was friendly so I hate to rate this low, however we paid $135 for him to come out, checked the hoses for the dishwasher but didn't take it out of the cabinet to check the pump, so when it did the same thing again we called to have him come back (as he'd said to do) only to have the woman at the business tell me they didn't work on this machine for problems that we are having, as they've had no luck solving problems for this machine. WTH? They were just out here and charged me-so why didn't they say that in the first place when I called?? It cost me another $150 for a different business to tell me the problem. We had a major problem with our refrigerator not cooling at all but the freezer was OK during a recent hot spell in Blaine. We were able to get Joe in from Gentry the following day after we called. Can't say I enough good things about the great service we got from Glenn and Jared at Gentry's Appliance Repair. They were referred to us by another appliance repair service who was too busy to fix our Samsung Gas dryer. They showed up on time the next day after we called. I have a new GE refrigerator and I was told that they weren't trained on this fridge. It's your standard GE refrigerator, French door with the bottom portion being the freezer. I told him that both the freezer and refrigerator part wasn't working and he couldn't help me because he didn't know how to fix that problem. I've never heard a repairman say that before. He was VERY nice though I just think his skill set is limited to certain easy fixes. Three stars because he was nice and I'm not trying to ruin anyone's business but it's good to know he can only do certain things. Amazing family owned business! I called them with a broken washer a few weeks back and it's been working great ever since. Joe arrived within the timeframe he gave me, was very efficient with the repair, and was professional and courteous. He didn't even mind my cat watching him during the repair and chasing his flashlight. This place is GREAT!! They ve repaired all the appliances in our house over the years ~ dishwasher, washer, dryer, oven and refrigerator ~ today was the dryer. It's nearly a 20 year old dryer and the second repair. Years ago it was the heating element today they replaced the motor. I did not know that old thing could run SO QUIET again ~ I am LOVING IT!! They've done a great job every time and our fridge is the only thing we ve ever had to replace since living here for 18 years. They are kind, polite, clean, efficient and reasonably priced ~ I would not even consider calling anyone else. Highly highly recommend these people for your appliance repair!! read more

I'm not one to write bad reviews cause everyone has their days, but I feel like this is necessary...Not to deter others from using gentry's appliance, but hopefully to give the company some awareness so something like this doesn't happen again. I had a pretty disappointing experience with gentry's appliance. Had a consolation which went fine, but the guy said they need two people there to fix my washer cause they would need to lift it. I was told I would be called within the next day or two to schedule that appointment. Two weeks go by and I hear nothing from them. My landlord calls me to say that the guys at gentry's are irritated that I haven't answered their calls??? Calls that I have never received. My landlord takes it into his own hands to schedule an appointment for me but was for a day that would not work for me at all. I called gentry's to reschedule and they said it wasn't a problem at all. Come the day of my appointment, literally 20 minutes before my appointment... I get a call saying they wont be able to help me and I need to find a different company to help. They gave me a reason which seemed like complete BS to me. I immediately told my landlord who was irritated because gentrys company literally ordered the part to fix my washer. He calls them and reports back to me that they said "they were mad about the inability to get a hold of me, so they are no longer able to fix my washer". I was so shocked, no professional business would cancel 20 minutes before out of pettiness. I felt almost gaslit too considering they were the ones who never reached out to me after they said they would, but claimed they called me so many times according to my landlord. So would I recommend Gentry's appliance? No... but i'm not saying don't go with them, i'm sure they know how to fix a washer, maybe just hold them accountable and make sure you dont get your time wasted. read more

First, I would like to say it took several attempts to actually get a hold of someone here. I left several messages that were not returned. But I kept trying since I wasn't having much luck with others. I finally did get an appointment, which I booked over a week in advance. I waited the 2 hour window that was given to me, but nobody showed. I called them to see what the deal was and on their answering machine it said they were away as of last Wednesday (today is Monday, 5 days later) for a family emergency. I fully appreciate family emergencies, but I do not appreciate the lack of communication. Nobody ever called to tell me my appointment was cancelled. Not only did I waste my time waiting for them to come today, but I also could have scheduled to have someone else come out several days ago. Completely unprofessional to say the least. Our three year old refrigerator suddenly stopped working, I called around to many appliance repair places and finally landed on Gentry's Appliance Repair. They were able to come out the very next day and get my fridge up and running so that it could be used in the meantime while they ordered a replacement part we needed. Two days later they were back with the necessary part and now our fridge is like new again. The politest, most worthless service call experience I've ever had. I live in the Seattle area, but rent out the home I used to live in up in Everson. My tenant called me to let me know that the refrigerator was working intermittently, and had stopped working for the last couple days. I called to schedule a service call and let them know that I wasn't in the home, was very specific that my tenant had told me it had been an intermittent problem, and coordinated a time with my tenant for the service technician to go out there. After their visit, I received a call asking me to pay the service call balance of $96, which I did. When I inquired about the problem and the fix, I was told that the refrigerator was working when they arrived, so they couldn't do anything. When I inquired if I would receive a discount off a future service call, I was told that they wouldn't be going back out to the house due to the condition of the house. I expressed surprise, because I know service technicians see a lot of houses in varying conditions. I contacted my tenant, who told me that they had indeed been out, but that the technician had been rude, short, absolutely refused to acknowledge her 5 year old kid (who she admitted was annoying, because it was his birthday and he was excited to tell EVERYONE), and had been in the house for less than five minutes. To his credit, Glen called me himself to discuss the situation. He did, however, call the house "uninhabitable" with a strong odor, and animal waste smeared on the floors, and told me he "felt sorry that my tenant was trashing the house." He did offer me a discount on my service call fee if I no longer wanted to use their services in the future, or I could leave the payment as is and he would be willing to go out in the future. I wish I had taken him up on the offer of a refund, because I sent another person out to the house to inspect, and it was reported back to me that the house was by no means "uninhabitable," just a very small space for a single mother and her kids/pets (which I knew, because I used to live there). I asked specifically about the problems that Glen had mentioned, and was told that there was NOTHING close to that scale occurring at the house. The further out of the experience I get and the more I think about it, the more dissatisfied I am. While Glen did call me personally to discuss and did offer me a refund, I feel that no effort was made to let me know ahead of time of the difficulty in diagnosing intermittent problems with the refrigerator, and our conversation after the visit was politely condescending at best. Perhaps Gentry's Appliance provides great service for residential homeowners, but I absolutely cannot recommend them to landlords. read more

I've used Gentry's for years. They've installed and repaired dishwashers, washers, and dryers for me. Alway, ALWAYS so courteous and VERY reasonable. They do not over charge like a lot of repair services do. It's a father and son operation - with I think mom doing the phone answering and scheduling - and I think it's mostly the son, Glenn, now doing the repairs. Would never, ever use any one else. They don't service LG appliances and I made the mistake of purchasing an LG washer. The washer is fine, but there is only one authorized service person in Whatcom County - and he's not very nice. But, if you own almost any other brand of appliance, Gentry's is the one to go to. read more

These guys really dropped the ball on me. I asked them to do a repair for tenants as I was leaving on a trip. I left them an email address to contact me if they had any problem or the appliance wasn't worth repairing. They never contacted my tenant or emailed me (like if they had a problem reaching the tenant), and they also didn't return calls when I came back and tried to get the situation resolved. The Gentry's diagnosed my dryer that was not heating. They informed me it was a defective gas valve and instead of trying to sell me a new part and repairing suggested I purchased a new dryer as it wouldn't be much more than the repair and I would end up with a better unit.
