Dropped in a couple of weeks ago...had heard about this shop, read the reviews here. Not disappointed the first time thru! Very clean and roomy! The lounge appeared comfortable, although frankly, I have never availed myself of any lounge or smoking area in a cigar shop... Very roomy, well organized humidor, with big windows, which is a great security factor. The sticks appeared to be pretty much all upper end stuff, which is right in my wheelhouse...I buy my working stock of ceegars on line, just can't touch the prices in a brick and mortar, BUT, I do like to patronize our local B&Ms frequently for those special treats...and they are here aplenty! The owner, Kyle, was very engaging and friendly, appeared knowledgeable, and when I get the four sticks smoked that I bought at that time, I WILL be back for more! ...and, I had a bad experience a couple of weeks ago that is gonna keep me from goin' back. Bought two sticks, total of $27.00 more or less...realizing that there is a HELL of a markup on them, but I understand, B&M's gotta pay more to stay in biz. I reached over and grabbed a Vertigo lighter, typically a ten buck item...and the total bill...non-itemized receipt, of course, was $67.55! Didn't sit there at the register and parse the receipt, took it away, then ran the numbers...that turned out to be a $35.00 lighter! Either that or the owner decided I should pay a $25.00 tip. This non-itemized receipt, along with the sense that hmmmm...the figures don't add up as expected...seems to be a fairly common thing at area B&M's...But I don't reckon I need to be going back here anymore. Okay, mark up the merchandise where you want to, before I buy, I'm making a choice. Charging more than stuff is worth after the fact...not okay! read more

Five Stars for Kyle, Five Stars for Robert and Five Stars for Genuine Cigars! Being an avid cigar smoker for 22-years I finally gave up the sticks about 3-years ago when my daughter was born. But last night a buddy of mine and I decided to enjoy an aromatic nightcap in the form of a cigar. Upon entering the lounge Robert, the Genuine Cigar host, welcomed us immediately and made us feel like regulars. He explained the layout and my bud and I dove in quickly to seek out our late evening vice. Their cigar selection is abundant from a walk-in humidor, several glass partitions and a wooden cabinet adjacent to the entrance. Being a creature of habit I perused and decided on an Arturo Fuentes Opus X Siglo Anniversario. The evening coincided with the MLB playoffs so we both sat and enjoyed our cigars while watching the game on one of their 4 televisions. I've never met a cigar smoker I didn't like and it rang true again that evening. We met three traveling business men from Seattle and we began conversing immediately. Before we knew it the game was over, our cigars were nubs and Robert was closing up. Almost for 2-hours five men enjoyed each other's company and Genuine Cigar was a major contributer. I can see myself frequenting Genuine Cigar monthly, obviously for the cigars, but also for their welcoming atmosphere, clientele and hosts. And please remember to tip your host. We stayed for almost 2-hours, some would say "overstayed", but we were taking up valuable realty. It's not much but $5 per person for that extra hour goes a long way.
