    Front yard brick patio

Our family home was destroyed in a fire two days before Thanksgiving, 2015. It took three years to rebuild our home. During that time the landscaping was neglected, so our yards became something of a jungle. During the fall season of 2018, John Tran of GeoLand Construction & Landscaping implemented plans for the front and back yard landscaping of our home, including flag stone accents, a brick patio for the front of the home and bricks to widen our driveway, some large accent rocks, a fountain, timed sprinkler and drip watering system and footpath lighting. One thing we appreciated was that he incorporated several of our surviving trees and plants with the landscaping, which helped reduce the investment. This overwhelming job was done in just a few months (in contrast to rebuilding the home.) Even more impressive, during the four years after finishing the landscaping job, John has come to help me out whenever I have had any issues, particularly with the timers for the sprinkler and drip system. Some contractors disappear after completing a job. GeoLand Construction & Landscaping has continued to be of service. I heartily recommend GeoLand Construction & Landscaping to do your landscaping and look forward to continuing working with them myself.

Imagine this with a gazebo, furniture, a fire pit, sofas and the gate (on its way)! Cannot wait for the trees and plants to mature too!

How often do you hear someone say "Our contractor is perfect!"? It's never been said in our home until now and we've had a lot of work done on our 106-year-old house. We just completed a huge landscaping project with Geoland and I'm absolutely certain that it would not have been the amazing space that it is without John and his team. Our project included a complete redesign, a driveway, an expanded backyard, park strips, and detached garage perimeter. Lots of grading, pavers, masonry, Ipe wood decking, concrete work, drainage, fencing, artificial turf, lots of 24" box trees, plants, irrigation, lighting...truly we tested all their skills except for adding a pool! More amazing, our project was finished in less than 4 weeks! We even had tweaks and changes but John navigated through these without missing a beat. AND, he was awesome about making sure I understood the pros and cons with regards to materials, design issues and tree/plant choices. His advice and guidance was invaluable and saved us a lot of grief in the long run. I am sure of this! During the process, John and his crew never wasted a minute, every detail was managed well, they cleaned up at the end of each day, made sure to protect cars and other property during the sealing of the fence and were always respectful of us and our neighbors. We are completely thrilled with every aspect of this project! 10 stars!

In 2012, we bought a model home in the Ranch of Silver Creek and hired a contractor to fix our frontyard and backyard... it was a nightmare!!!!! In 2016, we hired John to redo our front yard.... wow... my front yard looks awesome.... after it was completed, all my neighbors came by to take photos and asked me about my contractor.... John paid attention to details and behind his work... John and his crews cleaned up every day before they left my house.... everything went smoothly and on time... In 2017, I hired John again to redo my back yard... Highly highly recommended.....

Geoland is an outstanding landscaping company and John Tran is the owner. We are Javier and Lily, and just completed a significant upgrade to our backyard and we are static with the results that John delivered to us. John is a serious professional with a competent, efficient and knowledgeable team that under John's leadership follows a highly tuned process that converted our ideas, visions and dreams into a smooth workable implementation. In addition, it allowed for plan adjustments and changes to take place with minor disruptions highlighting another of John's important charactristic of customer satisfaction above all else.. This process is a valuable asset that served John and us very well and it is one of several reasons as to why we highly recommend Geoland for any landscape job, design or remodeling of your front or back yard. We are very happy with the end results. See photos attached before and after!

This involved pouring over 1,500 sq. ft. of concrete, a large retaining wall, a patio deck, a new lawn, and a playground area. Here were some of the highlights of my experience: - Design Guidance: I relied heavily on Baltazar's experience and keen sense of design. His elegant hardscaping solution for the pool transition zones exceeded my expectations and tied the yard together perfectly. - The grading and drainage were very well done. Despite heavy rains, there was zero pooling; the rain gutters were routed directly into pipes beneath the concrete for a clean, streamlined look. - Smart Home Integration: All landscape lighting and irrigation were hooked up to smart-home enabled controllers for total automation and convenience. - The office staff was very responsive, addressing any concerns or follow-up questions usually within a single business day. Props to Gladys and Dahlia! Highly recommended!

In our home improvement projects, landscaping our front yard was one of the nine projects we…read moreundertook. Throughout these projects, we sought God's wisdom, guidance, and most importantly, provision. We received three bids for each project, contacting them via phone. Most of them were easy to work with and accommodating, but one company stood out. I contacted this company, just like I did with the others, explaining that we needed to finish our front yard because my husband couldn't do it now due to health reasons. Before they even arrived, they demanded measurements and photos of our front yard. I'm not the best at measuring, but I did my best, considering I'm a full-time caregiver. I explained my situation to them, but they were very business-minded and lacked empathy. I complied with their requests and was surprised when Miguel, the owner, made an appointment to come out to our property. I already knew they wouldn't be a company we'd be interested in hiring, but in life, we need to be fair. Manuel arrived and was courteous. I asked him how he could bid on a job before he could actually access it and see what was required. He replied that he'd been doing this for a long time. Upon his departure, I noticed him measuring our property. I couldn't help but wonder why he needed to measure when he had already given us the price for the job. All the contractors bid on both the front and back yards. However, when we decided to postpone the backyard project and focus solely on the front yard, I contacted Stone Landscaping. The lady informed me that this change would increase the front yard price by 10% since the backyard was no longer included in the original quote. I was genuinely surprised and disappointed, as I sensed that this company lacked integrity and professionalism. Determined to find a dependable and honest landscaping company, I reached out to D&I Landscaping. I explained our decision to focus on the front yard and inquired about the cost. To my delight, they simply adjusted the price by removing the backyard, without any extra charges for the revision. This was a refreshing change, as D&I Landscaping demonstrated transparency and honesty. Life teaches us valuable lessons. While I don't intend to criticize others, I felt compelled to share my honest review of D&I Landscaping. If you're looking for a trustworthy and reliable landscaping company that offers high-quality work and uses quality materials, look no further than Irwin at D&I Landscaping. His company is dedicated to providing excellent service, listening to your needs, and showing genuine care and compassion.

The quality is high, the project management was strong and communication with them was easy. In short, Unique Pavers is a solution-oriented, quality-focused company that has earned my strongest recommendation.

They completely transformed our backyard to include two patios surrounding a putting green, a low wall, pathways, and new landscaping with fruit trees and a hedge with drip irrigation. An extensive drainage system included french drains, area drains, and tying the downspouts directly into drains. This was important because water would pool in our backyard after heavy rains. We had high expectations because we knew what Unique Pavers did for our driveway and front yard, and they did not disappoint! Rick has amazing vision when it comes to designing spaces. Dan is a great project manager who was onsite nearly every day and has excellent communication skills. And the hardscape and landscape crews really know how to execute; they worked hard and worked together well. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to accommodate our detailed requests, moving a favorite plant, and waiting for a smart lighting controller to be shipped. I could say more but the fact that we are a repeat customer says it all! Unique Pavers is a good value and we highly recommend them.

I am writing this review because the casual observer does not know the struggle. The people who stop and ask for my thoughts, I respond by saying on a scale with craftsmen on one end and laborer on the other, I rate them closer to the laborer end. The contractor said he has in-house 3 teams. I got the C team. Their inexperience showed. I understand the best way to gain experience is to be hands on. But to learn, supervision and mentoring are needed. The supervision was very minimal. The owners were not on site daily. When they did appear, it was mainly to deliver supplies, take away debris, or pickup equipment. Not my job, but I assumed the role of Onsite Superintendent and Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC). If I had not, I am not sure what the project would have ended up looking like. To their credit, if something needed to be corrected or changed, they did it with no resistance. Their motto is "what makes you happy." I say their motto is "we do it nice because we do it twice." Progress was slow. The contract was signed at the beginning of December, and it was completed at the end of March. I was told at the time of the initial site visit it would take 2 weeks to complete. After the contract was signed, there was no communication for over a month. I was left in limbo wondering on the start date. Would it be before Christmas? After Christmas? Before the New Year? After New Year? Start was not until mid-January. There were many days where no work was being done. In my opinion, a month's delay could be attributed to the holidays and weather. Overall, communication was poor during construction. Days and weeks would go by with no update leaving me to wonder if they were even coming back. In the beginning, communication was adequate. But as time went by, it felt like my project was no longer a priority. To date, I have not heard from them. There has been no project completion follow up. Examples of my frustration: Gutter Downspout - They attached an underground drainage pipe to the end without cutting the angled outlet off. This made the pipe protrude out to such a degree it was a trip hazard. I brought this to the contractor's attention, and he agreed. He even provided me with a picture on his phone saying, "this is how it should be done." The sad part was the job he showed me was also performed by the same work crew on my project. They should have known better. They corrected the error with a fitting I provided, but it was sloppy work. The fitting was not straight and too low to the ground. I ended up redoing it. I connected a 2nd downspout to save myself from further disappointment. This would be a common theme during the project, doing things myself. My neighbors would see me in the yard and ask, "isn't the contractor supposed to do that?" Front Entrance Joint Sanding - The front entrance originally consisted of a concrete pad. Instead of removing the concrete pad, they laid the pavers directly on top. Ever seen a vibrator vibrating pavers laid directly on concrete? It is not a pretty sight. Those pavers were jumping! Many pavers were damaged. I was so shocked and angry; I had to lock myself in the house after witnessing the carnage. What really made me mad was prior to this incident, I spent time replacing chipped pavers they had laid with nicer looking ones. But in short order, all that was undone. They fixed the damage, but the replacement pavers they used were the ones I had previously rejected. Later, I went back through the unused pavers to pick the better-looking ones, and had the contractor redo it. Side Gate and Gravel Path - Last day of work, what could go wrong? Well, they removed and repositioned my side gate. When I realized what they were doing, I was LIVID. It was unnecessary. They should have removed the earth a few inches and backfilled with gravel to the former finished elevation. But no, they placed the gravel on top of the existing ground and decided to move the gate higher to clear the gravel path. When the weather moved in during the night, I could hear the gate banging from my bedroom. In the morning, I inspected their work. A snapped bolt, improperly installed latch, and a damaged gate stop. Once again, it is up to me to remedy their poor workmanship. To top it off, they used my neighbor's yard to store their materials. These are just some of the struggles I encountered. Did I mention the multiple times they had to pull up and put down pavers at one section? I lost count after 4 times. Plenty more follies occurred. There were many smaller issues. All those small issues add up and become a pattern of ineptitude. To end this review, let me say my dream was to step out my front door, look out at my front yard, and experience joy and happiness. Instead, what I feel is disappointment and anger.
