Miss sunshine

I've been hearing a lot of great things about this speakeasy, so I decided to make a visit when we were bae hopping in the area. This speakeasy is hidden behind the famous Okdongsik restaurant. Vibes are 10/10- super dark and moody. Service was fast and friendly. Cocktails were pretty good too! I may have to try this place again to give a more detailed review though, because I was pretty full/sleepy since we made a visit at the end of the night.

A very nice little bar. A bit noisy, but the drinks were excellent. The Most Beautiful Moment in My Life: Lavender Infused Bacardi Rum / Rockey's / Raw Coconut Water / Pineapple Syrup / Lime / Cream Cheese. The lime added to the rum gave it a refreshing, slightly sour taste with an extra fermented aroma. The cream cheese on top made the texture even smoother. It contained pineapple syrup, and surprisingly, I felt fine after drinking it last night. Great!

AMBIANCE: 10/10 -Dim lighting and not too loud SERVICE: 10/10 -Our party had HeyTea drinks we hadn't finished and weren't allowed to have out-the hostess kindly offered to put them in the fridge for us! -Bartenders were super chill and quick with drink assembly DRINKS The Chloe: 9.5/10 -Light, sweet, refreshing -Great for those who don't like their drink too strong -Great balance of flavors and AMAZING aftertaste! The lightly fruity aftertaste is what made this drink a standout. The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: 10/10 -Truly one of the best drinks I've ever had! -Super pretty presentation -Amazing balance of flavors, complex bc of the foam on top (the foam was actual perfection, idek how to describe it) -Super smooth drink, sweet but not overly so

If you know anyone who regularly hangs out in Ktown, they've likely already been to George Bang Bang. I learned that lesson after telling multiple people on separate occasions "I know a place" and then taking them to this place they've all been to several times. As the only Korean owned speakeasy that is actually hidden behind Okdongsik, which is a Korean pork soup spot, George Bang Bang gets its reps among those in the know. But for anyone who isn't in the know, the space still impresses. It's dimly lit, with red accented walls an drinks that are served in charming glass teacups and chalices. They use really unique ingredients in their cocktails, like cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and black tea infused gin. Me and other friends have all found their cocktails much too sweet, and you'd be hard pressed to find any cocktail on their menu that isn't super sugary. They do have an extensive list of scotch, whiskey, rum, tequila, and fin on offer though, so you need not down a super sweet drink here if you don't want to. Reservations are recommended but I've gotten lucky and have gotten in as a walk in on a number of occasions, including on weekends.

The staff here are friendly and chill, i like the intimate comfy setting of the bar. I tried this egg white foam drink and the egg foam tasted just like lavender cheesecake and had a delicious mix

Excellent! The drinks, the ambiance, the staff... everything was brilliant. As a tequila and mezcal lover, I tried many of the drinks. My favorite was the Dos Fridas. I'll keep coming back here!

George Bang Bang in Koreatown, NYC, is truly a hidden gem -- if it weren't for my local friend, I probably wouldn't have even known it existed! Tucked away behind an unassuming entrance, this speakeasy-style bar offers an incredible mix of atmosphere and craftsmanship. The vibe is warm, stylish, and intimate -- perfect for a relaxed night out or a quiet date spot. The cocktails are creative, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced. Every drink feels thoughtfully made, and the service matches the high quality of the experience. A must-visit if you enjoy hidden bars with great ambiance, attention to detail, and top-tier drinks.

Really tasty cocktails and the appetizers were awesome too! The menu had lots of variety for drinks and I'm excited to go back soon to try again

Our table for Okdongsik wasn't quite ready yet and we had come a little early, but luckily for us we found out that there was a speakeasy in the back which still had plenty of seats when we went. It's beautiful not the inside, and quite unexpected just given how Okdongsik looks from the front. And the drinks were delicious as well, very thoughtfully crafted, and a good precursor to our meal afterwards.

Bartenders work their magic in the background

This moody dark speakeasy is hidden behind Okdongsik (a delish Korean soup spot), and the juxtaposition of homey warm soup kitchen with dark academia bar serving up sexy cocktails is super fun and feels very New York. Tried a couple drinks and honestly you can't go wrong. Ask the bartenders what they recommend if you can't decide. Their espresso martini is amazing if you need a pick-me-up!

Notting hill, little miss sunshine

Super cool speakeasy with dark lighting and a sculpture / classy tiled theme going on. To enter go inside the restaurant in front and push your way in on the wall door to get into the speakeasy!! Really smooth cocktails as well that aren't too strong hitting and interesting flavors! The notting hill drink was like a mango lassi and little miss sunshine was very refreshing :)). Staff was also super nice and helped us pick which drinks would suit our palates

This speakeasy is located behind Okdongsik and can be easy to miss, if you aren't aware of it. The interior is dimly lit, has great decor, and lots of seating (but largely for smaller parties). Their menu is diverse and the staff is very knowledgeable in their drinks. I tried a couple drinks here but my favorite was their twist on the classic espresso martini. Loved the vibe and would definitely come back here!

Cool Speakeasy behind a Korean restaurant

So exciting to find a true speakeasy, tucked away through the back door of a Korean restaurant. The decor is moody dark and slightly Asian, and I was surprised to find the bartenders extremely knowledgeable about the different spirits. The drinks are super inventive and the appetizers were delicious. The restaurant in front is a Michelin rated Korean joint which is worth visiting in its own right!

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. The interior was dimly lit, with a couple of candles per table or counter. It's a perfect place for a date night. And while there may be a wait on busier nights, it's always worth the wait. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. We chatted up a storm and he was able to create some drinks off the menu just for fun (on request). He also made my BF and me a couple of drinks to celebrate our anniversary too. Wonderful people and wonderful service. Needless to say, we will be back as frequently as we can!

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. They gave out a complimentary nut mix that was also delicious. Service was swift and gracious. If you're looking for a spot to impress a date, this is it.

The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
