I knew right away from his work, from the gentle application of anesthesia to the level of detail and pride in every filling I've ever gotten here--that the work is above and beyond anything I've received at prior offices, ever! What should have been a simple and straightforward routine teeth cleaning visit quickly turned into something much more concerning. I was informed of an unexpected diagnosis and was strongly encouraged to begin light therapy and additional treatments due to my lack of self hegeine and receding gum. The urgency and manner in which these services were presented felt more like a sales pitch than a genuine medical recommendation. It was clear that the focus had shifted from preventive care to aggressive upselling. Concerned by the sudden change in my treatment plan and unsure of the validity of their recommendations, I decided to seek a second opinion at a different dental office. The feedback I received there was completely different -- there was no indication of the issues previously mentioned, and none of the suggested treatments were deemed necessary. Another point worth noting: while patients are warned they will be charged for missing an appointment, the same level of accountability doesn't seem to apply to the office -- I waited nearly 30 minutes past my scheduled time many times before being seen. That lack of consideration, combined with questionable treatment practices, was enough to lose my trust. I will not be returning to this office. I encourage anyone considering treatment here to always get a second opinion before agreeing to any additional procedures. Be cautious of high-pressure tactics disguised as urgent care. As I was doing my research on TMD specialists in San diego, I stumbled upon a video clip of Dr. George talking about TMJ on youtube.I came in to see him January of 2025. I had sharp pain in my jaw, tension headaches, ringing in my ears, I was miserable. Dr. George put me on a treatment plan that included ultrasound, steriod/botox injections, and a custom mouthguard. He made me felt comfortable assured me the injections are 3-5 out of 10. I had instant relief and my symptoms were managed for the whole year. I saw him again this month for my annual tune up. Dr. Georgaklis is absolutely the best dentist I've visited in the past 40+ years. My wife has been a long-time client. It was my first time in, based on my wife's recommendation, to replace 2 crowns, poorly installed by another dentist many years ago, and add a 3rd crown on a cracked second molar. In less than 2 hours, the two old crowns were very smoothly removed, the cracked molar shaped for the 3rd crown, and temporary crowns created and installed. Less than 2 weeks later, I came in to have the temporaries quickly and smoothly removed and the 3 new porcelain crowns perfectly fitted with a perfect color match to my natural teeth. As an engineer, I can really appreciate Dr. Georgaklis using the state-of-the-art 3Shape scanner to quickly scan my teeth for a perfect fit of the porcelain crowns with no pressure nor high spots felt and perfect spacing for a natural flossing feeling. Dr. Georgaklis assured i only need 8months of treatment ". It cost 7k $1500 downpayment and $600+monthly. After 10 months of treatment, I never miss an appointment, my teeth is still misaligned. Dr. Georgaklis is unethical and incompetent . I entrusted Dr. G to treat my disable brother's malocclusion with anterior overjet and severe crowding . He didn't inform us about my brother impact wisdom tooth, he didn't give us an option to have his teeth extract to make space. Dr. G disregard the risk of dehiscence and fenestration , he proceed to expand the arch with braces and push my brother's roots past the limitation of the bony house. After a several complications, I questioned his expertise and intended to get a second opinion , he dictated that I was rude and dismiss us . After Dr. Georgaklis's dismissal ,I have consulted with a several board certify orthodontist , I was informed that I'd need another 14-18 months of treatment to complete orthodontic correction. A specialist review my brother's cone beam CT. I was informed #5 to #12 all have fenestration , #21 to #28 all have either dehiscence or fenestration. The specialists recommended having teeth extract for braces maybe the best option. They think the best for my brother is to wear retainer if I want no extraction. Please do your due diligence. I was gullible to believe in the positive reviews from his family and friends , unfortunately, it was a waste of time and money for me . Be careful ! read more

Dr. Georgaklis and his staff are absolutely amazing. I was referred to Dr. George to replace veneers I got from another dentist which I had nothing but problems with. When I explained to Dr. George what I wanted he, without hesitation, said, "we can do that!" Treatment consisted of several months of braces to broaden my smile, fix my bite, then replacement of my bad veneers. My experience was a night and day difference compared to my previous veneer experience. Even my temporaries looked better than my original veneers! I met doctor George last year through Mia who worked with him for years and highly recommended him. I was 45 years old and at that age I for sure did not want to have braces on for years. I went for consultation and right away felt very comfortable. I could tell he is very very experienced. He is very calm and laid back. The Whole place is very nice. I liked the vibes there. The staff is very very friendly as well. He assured me that it won't take a whole year but he didn't want to promise how long exactly. Which is important so people don't have certain expectations. I came to understand once we started that it is hard to tell how long it will take because some times one tooth will move fast but another one will take its sweet time. He didn't rush anything. My braces were on for 8 months total. I am very happy with the results. Mia was the one who placed them after his instructions. She is so so experienced. Nothing is impossible or difficult for that girl. Whenever I had a concern or discomfort they accommodated very fast to make sure the discomfort doesn't last long. I went to Dr. George after I had a root canal and crown go wrong by an unnamed dentist office. Dr. George looked at the issue and knew exactly what had went wrong, and even went to the lengths of writing me up a treatment dispute so that I could get my money back from the other dentist. I have been going to Dr. George ever since and couldn't be happier. Not only does Dr. George do great work but his staff is amazing. I went for a cleaning and could not believe how much the hygienist cared about my dental health. She explained everything to me about proper care of my teeth (i'm not the world's best flosser) and gave me instructions on how to take better care at home. After a few short weeks of following the instructions I can already see the difference in my gum health. The hygienist also talked to me about my grinding and I eventually got a mouth guard to wear at night. I've tried mouth guards before but could never get comfortable when trying to sleep. The mouthguard I got from Dr. George fits snug on my teeth and I can hardly feel it when I sleep. Now I can't sleep without it! In addition to the great work by Dr. George and his staff, he is extremely professional and personable. My experience with Dr. George has been nothing short of amazing. It took me a while to finally write a review about Dr. Georgaklis, but it's finally here! I'll just go straight to the point: I got my braces off in just 8 months (April 2016-December 2016). I started off with a perfect bite but my teeth were crowded, especially the bottom. Dr. Georgaklis promised that my braces would be off in 8 months, which obviously became true! Him and his assistants were able to see me every month to make sure my teeth were in check and looking great. I thought a beautiful smile like this was not possible, I absolutely LOVE smiling now. One day, I will have to come in to get my front two teeth done, since one has a chip and the other had a root canal (this happened a long time ago). I will definitely go to this man when I have the money again. REMEMBER you are paying for an expert and I think it is crucial to be in good hands when your teeth are involved. Our 16 year old experienced the excruciating pain of TMJ which became progressively worse with each passing day. Her pain started in her jaw at the joint and radiated to her neck and shoulders. She had eye pain and headaches which made it impossible for her to sleep. She had difficulty opening her mouth. Ice and heat and antiinflammatory medication did not stop the pain. It was early on a Tuesday that I had pain in my mouth but I took Tylenol and it was gone... it came back later in the evening so I took more Tylenol. Dr George saved my teeth, and here's how. I'm a man in my 50's, and I was experiencing tooth loss and a bridge I had since childhood was coming loose. My regular dentist did the x-rays and concluded that, due to extreme bone loss, he would have to remove all my teeth and fit me with a full set of dentures. I was determined not to let let this happen and that there had to be another way! I called around to my friends, and someone I go to for advice all the time told me to cancel my appointment and immediately call Dr. George for a second opinion. Dr George had me email him the x-rays. I did, and he called me a day later and told me that he had a way to save my teeth - at least the majority of them, and that all I would need was a partial denture. This seemed too good to be true, but I made the appointment. The next week I travelled to La Jolla for a visit. First of all, I need to say that his staff and crew are the nicest, most professional people ever. They treated me like a celebrity! I previously had Invisalign years ago ( different Orthodontist) but I never was happy with the results. I've only had my braces on a few months and I totally am happy with how quickly my teeth are straightened in such a small amount of time! He does 6 month braces and can work on pretty much any shape teeth. His prices are very fair and I even went to a different Orthodontist who quoted me almost the same as Dr.George but it was metal braces and a 14 month treatment plan so I'm pleased with my decision to go with Dr. George!
