The pain was debilitating at times. As a hospital- based healthcare professional, I knew surgery was unavoidable if I wanted to live pain-free, while the risks of hospital born infection was more than I was willing to take. In my research of top orthopedic surgeons I wish I had extended my search from King Co to Pierce Co years earlier, while I am grateful that I listened to my fears and doubts and I did not go with the first orthopedic surgeon's recommendation! I cannot say enough about the care received by Dr. Steedman and his entire team leading up to and throughout surgery. Surgery in their facility was far safer than a large hospital setting, fewer risks of human oversight and life-threatening risks. Going home the same day, taking a total of 3 Tylenol in my recovery, walking 3600 steps within a week - and a minimally visible scar 8 weeks later. I haven't felt this great in YEARS!!!! Now having to get another MRI before another surgery. I wish he would've just worked on my back and neck. To be so disrespected by the two ladies/office staff! for them texting me an appointment time, talk down to a patient for a mistake that she made, was rather embarrassing and to do that in front of other patients was just rude. Never received a call to find out why I walked out after being treated so wrong, makes it hard to recommend anyone to this establishment. The other downfall is these other physical issues I'm still going through and now having a second surgery on something I know he damaged, makes it hard to recommend anyone to an establishment where I was treated so wrong! and also having this setback on my healing. I started my Chiro treatment back in February of 2025, it's now January of 2026. I'm starting with a different Chiropractor and will never allow a chiropractor to work on anything but my neck and back. It truly saddens me to write/post any negativity on any type of business. Chiropractic treatment has helped me heal tremendously, although it isn't a magic quick fix with the right Chiropractor life definitely becomes more manageable faster than you can think. It's all a healing process but totally worth it. Another thing I have to point out is that every single time I come in, Kim is at the front desk with a smile on her face. Sam is the best Chiropractor I have ever come across in Washington State. His office is very modest and has the influence of many happy patients who walk out the door each day. I owe so much gratitude to Sam because he literally saved me from unnecessary surgery and painful agony. I had a severe neck injury that consisted of 5 bulged disks, two being herniated along with the constant debilitating pain I suffered for many, many months after a horrific fall, I can honestly say I feel "amazingly" better today because of his special technique which is called the Pettibon Technique. He not only has such amazing knowledge about the human body and spine, he is also very gentle and cares for his patients. Don't think your going to just go in, be adjusted and that's it, he gives you homework to take home to fit each patients need for a faster recovery. I don't know what I would have done if I was not recommended his care by a dear friend of mine, and if your a good patient, you'll earn him giving you an "atta girl", or "atta boy"! But for a long time -- right up until we moved here -- I had a chiropractor up north who nailed the spot every time so I didn't have to come in very often, and this really kept me feeling good and mobile. Over the few months I saw him, Dr. Church could sometimes get it, but it would often not really "stick," so I'd be back in later the same day or the next. He was pretty friendly at first. But as it became clear his adjustments weren't helping me, he started subtly shaming me by talking about other "very big" people he'd worked on and how challenging it was. I might've started to just think being too overweight was making so a great chiropractor couldn't help me... except that my prior one helped me *every time* and she was a woman about 1/2 his size, so I know my size and potential issues around maneuvering a heavier body could NOT have been the problem. Aside from just wishing I hadn't moved and / or hadn't taken my prior chiro for granted because she made it seem so easy to help me, I just decided I didn't need to be made to feel bad about myself by this doctor who couldn't quite get the adjustment right, so I stopped going. So if you have regular 'non-tricky' back issues and are not very overweight, you'll probably do great here.
