We should've known this place was going to be a disappointment when it was the only salon available on short notice. The stylist who helped me--her name was Masea or something similar--started by wetting my hair, but didn't fully saturate it before applying shampoo. I mentioned that my scalp wasn't completely wet, and she simply replied, "I know, I'm going to shampoo it." Unsurprisingly, the shampoo didn't lather, and I had to explain it was because my hair wasn't saturated. She proceeded anyway and didn't cleanse my scalp thoroughly. She then asked if I wanted conditioner--why that would even be a question is beyond me. Conditioner should be standard. She also soaked the back of my shirt completely. My hair had just been colored two days prior, and her improper shampooing stripped a significant amount of my color. She even suggested a second shampoo, which I declined. If the first one was done correctly, a second wouldn't be necessary--my hair wasn't that dirty. Back at her station, she kept complaining that I had "too much hair"--which I really don't. She burned me twice with the blow dryer and appeared unsure of how to use it at all. I politely asked several times if she was comfortable doing the style I requested. It was clear she wasn't. I told her I'd rather she be honest if she didn't know how to perform the service. I can understand if she may have once been competent, but clearly she hasn't kept up with industry standards. A basic shampoo, blowout, and style shouldn't be this difficult. I'm visiting from out of town due to a family emergency and specifically explained that I needed my hair to hold up for a few days--not just for appearance, but to avoid staining the hotel shower due to fresh color. After one wash, my hair looked like it had been faded out for weeks. The salon was unable to accommodate another stylist to correct the service, which was incredibly disappointing. I wouldn't expect this level of inexperience at even a chain salon. Not only was my hair ruined, but my weekend was too--at a time when my family is already dealing with a loved one fighting for their life. read more

In summary, Jessie is a SUPERSTAR! She is knowledgeable about her craft, talented, and caring. This girl knows what she's doing! Her prices are reasonable too. During the pandemic, many businesses closed, including hair salons. As a result, my hairdresser stopped working entirely to spend her time taking care of and raising her children. When life returned to "normal," I started looking for a new hairdresser. I didn't have a referral to a specific hairdresser but I knew George Oliveri Hair Salon had a good reputation so I called and booked an appointment for a color, cut and blow dry. My appointment was with Jessie. First off, her upbeat attitude and cheery disposition were clearly evident and It was obvious when she started asking me questions about my past hairstyles and hair cuts and treatments as well as what I wanted that she was well-educated in her field and had lots of experience. Also, my appointments last about 1 hour, 15 minutes, and although I sit by myself while my color is on, I still spend a considerable amount of time with Jessie. It's a pleasure to talk with her and I've gotten to know her better with each appointment. But if, you don't want to talk, she respects your "quiet" time. Jessie also does up-dos and other hairstyles as well as makeup for wedding parties and special events. Whether it is a cut, cut and color, another hair treatment or hair and makeup for a special event, you won't be disappointed. You will be happy and well pleased with the results. read more

My complaint is... I'm a woman of color (Afro centric) mixed. The young lady that died my hair was nice and personable... although she did miss a noticeable streak of grey in the back of my hair. When she was done and washed out the dye. She basically said, "oh I can't do your "type" of hair, I don't know how to flat iron this "type" of hair". Like I was an alien and had bob wire for hair... I was confused and felt so embarrassed! To my understanding all hairstylist should be able to do all types of hair, no? I spent over a hundred dollars and basically left the shop with a mop of wet hair. I had to home blow dry and style my hair my self. Worst experience ever!! read more
