    Mozzarella Sticks

Delicious Italian food at this local spot in downtown Wake Forest. This pizza shop has changed hands a few times, but the quality of the food is still excellent. Pizza is excellent! NY Style, crisp crust, the perfect cheese-to-sauce ratio. Sauce is slightly sweet, just like it should be. Also tried mozzarella sticks. Doubtful that these are house-made, but they are beautifully deep fried golden brown and crispy. Cheese is gooey and moist. Plus a cup of that pizza sauce for dipping. Try the caprese sub! Thick slices of succulent mozzarella, slices of ripe, sweet tomato, some chopped red peppers, drizzled with olive oil and vinegar and torn basil. All on toasted Italian bread. It's simple, gorgeous and delicious! Great food! Try this spot next time you're in DWF.

    Chicken Piccata

Had a delicious chicken piccata on my first visit. With a choice of pasta or salad I chose angel hair. Large portion and piping hot! Hot bread roll was tasty and a nice touch. We will be back since a taste of the lasagna did also not disappoint! We had attentive service and were glad we gave this place a try.

It's rare that I ever say anything negative but I wouldn't recommend getting the steak and cheese here. I got it a few weeks ago and wanted to love it but had to spit most of it out for fear of choking on the meat. It was all connected together and very hard to eat, hopefully it was just an off night. I will say the cheese pizza was good and hope to try other things that I can love but it the steak and cheese sadly wasn't it.

George's Pizzeria is located in Downtown Wake Forest. It is at the end of the Cotton Company. When there are events upstairs at the Cotton Company you can order pizza or other food and take it to your event. I did that when they had the Comedy Nights. You do need to climb some stairs to get in the front door as it is on the second level. They do have curbside pickup if you cannot do the stairs. I went to George's for lunch and they had a lunch special of two slices and a drink for $5.99 so that is a really good deal. Service was friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. I ordered a whole cheese and the penne vodka with shrimp and fried zucchini. Everything was really good.

Great spot for NY/NJ style pizza pies. Very authentic taste and crust. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Inside is a bit dated and could use a little facelift but the food is great so it really isn't an issue. Service was good, all servers were great but again good food makes it all okay!

This spot is definitely added to our list of favorites! I called our order in and it was ready when I arrived. The cashier was really nice. This is by far the NY style pizza we've had in NC. The zucchini fries were really good, too! I look forward to going back and dining in.

Stopped in for a quick lunch bite. Located in the heart of Wake Forest. Small restaurant with outdoor seating. The bruschetta was my favorite item.

George's Pizzeria is formerly Amore's and was purchased recently by a new owner. It has been renamed and nothing in terms of the interior has changed and the pizza is pretty much the same as before. We got an order of Mozzarella sticks, antipasto salad and a large pepperoni pizza. All of the items were ok and nothing spectacular. However, for Wake Forest, the pizza is fairly good. I'm sure the new owner will change the menu and maybe update some of the decor. I'll admit being from NYC I'm a pizza snob, so my expectations are high. And, its difficult finding really good pizza here. George's however is fairly good and most would probably be satisfied with it like we were last night.

If you are looking for no frill, no dress up type of place, this is a place for you. The food is hot and good. It's not "oh my gosh it is amazing!" But more of a comfort Italian food. The service was slow but understandable when you come in when it's the busiest time of the week. It's good for kids as they also have kids meal as well.

I placed an online order for a Margherita pizza with sausage and a cheese pizza, both 18 inches. The website was easy to order from, no issues there. They even accepted Google Pay which was a nice bonus. Prices were also inline with similar pizzas in the Wake Forest area from non-major chain restaurants. The wait time on a Friday evening was about 30 minutes (same as mentioned when ordering) which is inline with other local pizza shops during that time of day. When I picked up the pizza, a lady greeted me with a hello and a nice smile, can't overlook that nowadays! My wife and I had the Margherita pizza and my son had the cheese. The Margherita was very good. I figured I'd like it, but was a bit surprised how much I'd like it. Thin crust. If you like olive oil and garlic, like I do, you'll appreciate it on this pizza. I think they enhance everything else on the pizza. They are pronounced, but not overpowering. The pizza was not greasy, with the ingredients (fresh spinach, onion, tomatoes) very fresh tasting. The crust was ok, not special, not bad at all, but the toppings definitely made up for it. I think some additional flavoring from yeast would have helped the crust. My wife also really liked the flavor of the pizza. We'll definitely put this on repeat in a future order. My son thought the cheese pizza was good, similar to other pizza restaurants in the area that are not large chain types. Overall, I'm glad I took a chance and now have yet another option for pizza in Wake Forest. I'll be back!

He was hard working, always gave refills, and was kind. He was definitely the highlight of our visit. The ambiance is that of an old-school pizza parlor from the 90s, but it didn't feel nostalgic, it felt boring. Unfortunately, the food was just okay. I ordered the Milton's Special pizza and it was fine. Nothing to rave about but nothing to want to come back to, either. My friend ordered a pizza as well. It's nice that they have GF options. She wasn't too impressed with her choice, either. It tasted like it could have come from the freezer at the grocery store, it was very generic in flavor. The service was really the best part of our entire meal. 10/10 service, 4/10 food

Also features a prominently displayed political flag - guaranteed to antagonize 50% of the patrons which to me doesn't make sense. And could very well explain why it wasn't very busy on this Friday night. Service is fantastic. The young lady helping us was professional and efficient. Food came quick, order was correct and she made sure our glasses were never empty. Food is ok. Didn't order pizza, as was in the mood for other Italian specialties. The garlic knots were interesting. Reminded me of crescent rolls made out of pizza dough. They're served dry, with a cup of garlic butter dipping sauce. Tasty enough, but not really how I envisioned them, slathered in butter with chunks of garlic, served in a basket. Baked ziti was ok but bland. Pasta slightly overcooked so it was mushy. Sauce is good though, a little sweet. Similar experience with the fettucine. Fettucine cooked right, sauce didn't have any zest to it. Will give another try, next time to taste the pizza. Hoping that this place succeeds.

Onion rings were scrumptious and the mini cannolis were very good! Plenty of parking and great location. We will definitely be back!

Both of us didn't expect the full nice restaurant dine in experience that they have going on here. On the left is an area for pickup and delivery and on the right it's a really nice dining room. We tried it out early on a Friday night. Got lucky with a table near the open kitchen where we got to see some amazing and great-smelling food come out. I was even more surprised at the quality of wine offerings by the glass, and went with a nice Chianti. He got a Boss Martini with blue cheese olives. He said it was good, although not as dirty as he would have preferred. I had seen a review online of their hot honey pepperoni pizza which is what had taunted me to suggest this place, so we shared a large one, which came out looking just as fabulous and tasted pretty darn great. Only oddity was one side there were a couple pieces that He felt were just slightly under done. Love the dollops of ricotta, the burst of flavor from the tiny peppers and the cup pepperoni. Pretty sure the sauce is just crushed tomatoes, which works well to let the toppings shine. If there was actual hot honey on top we couldn't tell. The large is indeed large, and we took plenty home for delicious leftovers. I will add that Service was super friendly, but we waited a long time for our ready drinks to be brought from the bar. And our pizza sat a bit before being brought to us also. Both minor in the grand scheme of things. We will definitely be back, especially since they gave us a card for a free appetizer with a pasta dish.
