Used to love this place, but today was a huge miss. I ordered a simple XL pepperoni pizza for pickup -- something I've gotten here before for around $24. This time, the total came out to $36, which was already surprising. On top of that, I called ahead and arrived about 20 minutes later, but still ended up waiting close to an hour total before getting my pizza. The pizza itself was very thin and light on toppings, which didn't match the price at all. I completely understand prices going up, but a $10+ increase, long wait times, and a noticeable drop in quality all at once is tough to justify. They have a variety of inexpensive lunch specials here which include a soda, and I frequently come here for lunch with my friends from work. I would rate their pizza and service as a five, but the rest of their food as a one or two. The sandwiches have little meat. The salads are fresh but mostly just lettuce with sparse toppings. The chicken Parm is probably the worst chicken Parm I ever had in my life. Two heavily breaded patties of chicken topped with unmelted pieces of mozzarella cheese. The accompanying pasta was not spaghetti, but some type of shell pasta with a tasteless sauce. None of this had any spice. It was truly awful. The thing that saves them is their pizza. Good New York style pizza. And I am very picky about my pizza. Pizza is definitely five stars. Service is always good and prices are reasonable, especially for the line specials. The chicken fettuccine alfredo was disgusting honestly. The whole dish is very unseasoned so i ended up putting my own. The chicken is boiled and doesn't have a flake of seasoning. Even after picking all the chicken out, the pasta still has that unseasoned boiled chicken taste. This is one of my go to pizza places in Wake Forest. They are the closest one to me, but that isn't why I continue to go here. I love getting just a slice when I need a snack. They are friendly and fast. The pizza is hot, crust is thin, sauce and cheese taste great. I have ordered their larger pizzas multiple times. I get order extra sauce and cheese most of the time and they always do a great job making sure they add a good amount. The inside can get quite hot, but that's how it goes with hot ovens and pizza. The inside has plenty of seating, the table and chairs are clean. The floor is clean. I have never had a bad experience here and will continue to get pizza here. I have pizza at least once a week, more times than not, I choose to get pizza from here. When I order for pick up, my pizza is always ready as well. read more

What saddens me even more is that I can't help but wonder if like so many others they aren't taking advantage of what's going on right now.(Covid-19) How can we continue to support our local small businesses when they get away with this!? Decided to dine in after an afternoon at the park. As I grew up on Long Island, my review is of my memories of true NY pizza. This comes pretty darn close, but the crust didn't flop like a ny pizza. Taste was good though and I would come back for more. Of course they offer all kinds of Italian dishes but this trip was just for the pizza. They have lunch specials and one slice was only $1.75 and was more like a double slice. One issue we had was when we tasted the water and knew immediately that ice was nasty. We informed our server and she tasted and agreed. She brought new waters from different ice and hopefully they will fix the ice machine. It happens when ice machines need cleaning. Which is why I usually bring my own water bottle. read more

I love the food here! It's very authentic! I always tell them to cook the pizza well done and only get a handful of toppings. Otherwise it's too greasy! They now deliver which is awesome! My mom and I decided to order a calzone and a hot Italian sub! The calzone is FILLED with ricotta cheese and loads of toppings. It was so good. I love the marinara they give you! Very flavorful! This place was an all around disappointment. The calamari was overcooked and tasted like it had been cooked in month-old grease. Honestly, the worst calamari we've ever had. I had chicken/shrimp alfredo that had more sauce than noodles and my husband had chicken parmesan (pretty basic stuff). It was awful...no flavor at all. We got there at 9:00 pm and they were so nice. A lot of places would have not even taken our order at 8:45 pm but didn't even mention they were closing in 15 mins. Pizza is worse than Pizza Hut The staff was super friendly and helpful but our food was terrible and the place looks old and unappealing inside. I paid over $30 for a small-ish pizza and it was not edible. We are throwing it out. The sauce was overly sweet and is causing heart burn from some spice that has a kick (but not a good kick). The crust was hard. I honestly give this pizza a 1 out of 10. We ordered meatballs and they are also awful. We will throw them out too. Please DO GO to the Bella Italia on Durant Road. Their food is GREAT!!!! Different Owners!!! Durant Road Location was closed today so we thought we would try the Wake Forest location. BIG mistake...we will never go back. Consistency has been an issue in the past but seems to be back to when the original owners were there(they opened a location off Durant and moved there while "selling" to another owner who has now moved on the the coast opening another, to my knowledge). Just good NY style pizza with tasty ingredients and made properly. Been going to the WF location since they opened back in the early 2000's. Defiantly my go to pizza spot. Can't speak to other offering as we only get pizza. Usually go to Durant Rd location for pastas and such. Also, if you are a ranch and pizza person, get their ranch...it is awesome! I don't usually do ranch with my pizza but love to dip the crusts with the ranch. Edit: staff isn't up to snuff. This is what it looks like when you request "please put pepperoni on top of cheese."
