It's easy to miss, but we were referred to George for barber services. Just discovered he had his own salon in Iran doing exclusively ladies hair. He was shut down by the government after the revolution as it was illegal for men to cut women's hair! He immigrated to the USA in the 80s. George is prettty good at cutting hair. If it were just him, I'd give this place 4 stars. Unfortunately, today I decided to let the lady there cut my hair. She was rude, rushed the haircut completely, and had a very unhappy face. It seemed like she was totally depressed and hated being there. Unprofessional and shouldn't have cut my hair if she didn't know what she was doing. It's not just about attitude: the haircut itself is totally uneven and strangely longer in random parts. There's a very simple solution to this problem: George, don't let her cut hair. Instead she could help with prepping clients with hair washes or something. That would not only elevate the experiences of the customers but also would've prevented this subpar haircut. This haircut is at best, 3 stars if you have no taste (meaning average), and 2 for most people, but the place gets 1 star because of the painfully depressed attitude during the entire procedure. Not a pleasant experience at all. And for anyone going to say something like "oh, it's your fault for letting her cut your hair." Well, she WORKS there so she should be able to cut my hair. When he asked, I felt in complete agreement so it was easy to let him do it. George told me a lot about himself, his training, and his history as a stylist and barber. I was moved by his story. Yea! I've come out the other side after being sucked into the ridiculous wave of overpriced kid haircut mills. I mean seriously, $19 + tip every 6 or 7 weeks for a 3 year old boy?? C'mon. That's a mighty expensive way to earn a freakin' balloon. Enter George. I met him at a meeting a few weeks ago and he was so very nice. I took my boy and dropped in on him yesterday and the place is clean and a cheerful orange inside. George met us with a big smile and made us feel right at home. They even have a motorbike to sit on if that's important to your kid. Talia cut Bug's hair and it turned out great. Tootsie Pop at the end for his trouble. The cut only cost 9 bucks (plus tip). Hard to beat that. I can't comment on cuts for people taller than your hip but I'm so relieved to find a place where we can go and not be verbally abused and treated badly by people who are supposedly catering to kids. I don't want to knock this place, they're very nice & accommodating - just a little Mom & Pop shop in a strip mall. But I will say my cuts have been very hit or miss here. The last time I went in I asked for a light trim & ended up with 5 new layers & 3 inches off the bottom. It will take months to grow it out. I think the key is to be *very* specific & make absolutely certain the stylist knows what you want. It seems like they're doing volume business & may not always tune in to the customer. If you're passive you might get whatever she feels like giving you. It's a great deal if you're not too fussy about your hair, but if you're picky like me I recommend shelling out an extra $20 bucks at a professional salon. read more

Best cuts I've ever had. I've been coming here for the past 8 months and I'm loving the way I look every time I walk out of here. I've had the pleasure of having my hair cut by all 3 - I'm assuming there's 3 - barbers here and they've all been exceptional. Before coming here, I would go to "Kim Sun Young", a fancy Korean barber shop in Koreatown. Me, naturally being Korean, went to where other Koreans got their haircut. However, after some time, I got sick of how my haircuts did not come out the way I'd like. And the $20 +tip price tag didn't help. I get my haircuts at George's Cut for $12 +tip and I can confidently say that this is the best barber shop I've been to during my 23 years of life. I'm a customer for life. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Let me preface this by saying this: DO NOT COME HERE, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER HEALTH AND SAFETY. On 12/15/18, my younger brother came here to get a perm and that would prove to be a huge mistake! He got his perm done by George. He had gone here before and had no problem. George did his perm before as well, but this time when my brother came home, he was complaining that his neck was burning and it was itchy. His neck was inflamed and raw because his skin was chemically burned from the perm. He couldn't even move his neck because it was burned that bad. The next day, his neck was covered in scars from the chemical burns. He returned the following Monday and when confronted with the burns on his neck, the staff just denied that they were at fault and said the scars were there before he got the perm - unprofessional! My mother called again and they continued to deny that it was their fault. This is very very unprofessional behavior. I hope they realize the severity of this situation. I do not recommend that anyone comes here because they obviously do not care for the safety of their customers. read more

I came here based on the other two Yelp reviews. I started out looking for a place to get my toddler's hair cut when the time comes. I figured I should try it out on myself first. It might not the be the hippest place, but George is really nice and cut my hair really well. I didn't make an appointment, but only had to wait 15 minutes or so. These people are very good at what they do!! It doesn't seem like it at first because of the location but the quality of work they do for the price they charge is almost unreal to me. George and his staff will take care of you, and if you have hair like mine (mine is straight and pokey when short) they'll give you a good fade! I always ask for a 1/2 on the side and blend to the top, and even out the top. They're also super friendly and rarely ever get busy, so very minimal wait time! I do go early to mid afternoon on the weekdays though, I haven't tried the weekends. As a person who has been almost everywhere in SoCal and tried many different barbers, this is one place I can revisit and expect a great cut for a great price. George always hooks me up with my hair and he's been doing it for a long time. The reason this place doesn't get a four star is because its prices have gone up from $9 to $12. I also am disappointed that he got rid of his cards, in which he would stamp a card for each time you went and then after 10 visits you get a free hair cut.
