Great little place for lunch, we ate outside at shady picnic tables with tableside delivery. (Great staff) We had old style Hamburgers with smashed patties, onion rings, great chocolate shake (so chocolatey) & a coke with crushed ice. Reminded me of the Pac-Out drive in. We had a fabulous lunch! We all ordered burgers and were not disappointed. Our daughter is very particular on her burgers and gave it a two thumbs up. Before our road trip to Tucson, AZ from Denver a friend made a "must-stop" suggestion. George's Drive Inn for the best green chile burger. Yes, she was right. It's not a restaurant that'd attract you from the outdoor. Until you see all the cars in the parking lot.. Then you know you're at the right place. And when some of the locals greeted us as we walked in the door with "You're in for a treat", you know you've found one of those special places. The kind of places that make using Yelp so fun. I had a regular hamburger with fries that was delicious, because I'm a spicy-wimp. Husband had the green chile burger and was not disappointed. It's a fun place inside. Very friendly. We'll be back. I stopped here on the way through town and it was so good I stopped again the next time through. It is a cozy little diner with great service and good food. This is a small diner style restaurant just off I25 and north of Walsenburg. It has been in business for years and is a local favorite. Food is very good, prepared quickly, and staff is very friendly. When busy, the space is a bit cramped, but you're not there to linger over dinner and drinks. My favorite is the cheeseburger and fries. Delicious and served promptly so you can pop back on to I-25 , leaving the Burg I your rear view like so many other fond memories. read more

Omg this place is so awesome. We stopped by chance on our way through Colorado and what a good decision. The biscuits were fluffy and amazing and the gravy was perfect (and I'm a gravy snob)! You would not think a place called a drive-in would be such a wonderful place to have breakfast! On our drive back from Denver we need it to stop and eat. Using our trusted Yelp app we looked up the best breakfast place in Walsenburg Colorado. Although it's quite small, it is right off I-25 South, and the food is fabulous! The prices are good. I was especially happy to have a choice of hash browns or fried potatoes. These were potatoes actually fried in a frying pan not deep-fried in the fat. My eggs were done just how I like them, over medium, and the sausage links were absolutely delicious. We will definitely make this a stop on our way to and from Denver. read more

On our way to Great Sand Dunes National Park and we stumbled across this little gem! Now this is what travel is all about: finding the best spots and being blown away with a simple burger place. I ordered a patty melt and it was the best I ever tasted. True story. My husband had the Colorado cheesesteak and I wanted to finish his sandwich too. Would have given 5 stars if not for my oldest child's meal coming out AFTER the other 8 of us were nearly done eating. We stopped off to try the green chilis burger & it was phenominal. My husband is STILL talking about it. We stopped in after a 4 hr trip home from Lake City Colorado & Im glad we did. I had the cod filets & they were great. The kids had chicken strips, natural cut fries, & burgers & lets just say plates were clean when we left. The only complaint was it was a little warm inside (88°) & my sons meal was delayed almost so late that we had nearly finished by the time he got to begin eating. Food was good had the chili burger with onion rings instead of fries and coffee. The amount of onion rings seemed on the small side of things but not worth mentioning on it's own. Service was terrible no stops after taking my order and dropping off my food. No refills on water or coffee. Had mentioned I might want pie when ordering so after 15+ minutes after having finished my food waiting for her to stop by or make eye contact I gave up paid the bill left thirsty and wanting pie. We really enjoyed our breakfast. Joel was the server and he is a dream. We had Italian sausage and egg scramble and the sausage gravy and biscuits. Lovely place, lovely people, lovely food. For $25 I got myself and others an Italian sandwich, Colorado cheese steak, a large coke with refills, friend cod and shrimp, and with that we got a ton of fries and toast. Everything was so tasty that I got the motivation to write this review. The only downside? I waited around 30 minutes for all of that food, although that's totally understandable because of the sheer amount of people waiting for food. Very nice place to eat. They were very busy, all tables were full but they kindly prepared us our lunch to go. I had the steak sandwich. It was a real nice sized piece of rib-eye steak expertly prepared on a soft tasty bun with grilled onions and mustard. I was impressed. My wife got a hamburger and it was good too. For almost 40 years, great breakfasts and lunches served at George's Drive Inn in Walsenburg, Colorado. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. Almost always a wait but well worth it. In my opinion, not only are the breakfasts are tremendous, but the hamburgers are THE BEST. I add grilled green chile strips and onions on the Cheeseburger Deluxe. The French Fries are home cut. I wasn't blown away by my half cheeseburger smothered in green chili and french fries (I know, sounds light, doesn't it?)... but it really was pretty good. And the people couldn't have been nicer. We frequently find ourselves passing through Walsenburg on our way to someplace else but our luck with food has not been so great in this small town. George's would be the one exception so far. Previously we had been completely ignored and practically run out of the Fireside Café by very unfriendly staff. We figured a chain like Carl's or Pizza Hut was going to be our only reliable choices when coming through Walsenburg but right off the first exit we saw George's and decided to give it a try. This is a very friendly, clean diner and I would put money that everything we ate was homemade. My beau loved his patty melt and my okra and potato salad was out of grandma's kitchen. Lots of traditional favorites and comfort food on the menu. Prices are cheap and without skipping a beat, you're back on the highway to continue on. read more
