The service was terrible, it took at least 45 minutes to get our food and the waiter was on her phone the entire time. There were flies all around the restaurant as well. I ordered the Spegettii which was a bad choice. The brisket is phenomenal but overall experience was awful. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a road trip. Just wanting something that's not fast food. Yes it's a bbq place, so my review is based on their non-bbq items. Maybe not a super fair review as their bbq could be great. I ordered the veggie burger. The veggies patty was dry and didn't have a lot of flavor. I liked that you can choose a side. I chose potato salad. It was good. My hub ordered the tri-tip sandwich. Said it was tougher than brisket but the flavor was good. It was pricy, but it's not fast food, just a good change. read more

We were literally the ONLY people in the restaurant and the server never checked on us once to ask how our food was or refill drinks. My hamburger was dry/burned. The pickles tasted like they had been soaked in malt vinegar and the lettuce was wilted, brown and soggy and had a funny taste. I ordered a keto friendly meal and couldn't eat most of it because it just wasn't good, but beyond that, there were so many flies buzzing around our plates and heads that it was a complete turn off. And the bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while. The garbage was literally overflowing. This place used to be our favorite for BBQ but the last couple times we've dined here, it's been lackluster at best. It's been a year and so we thought we would try again...but nothing's changed. I still can't believe that this was the very best BBQ that I have ever eaten. Upon walking- in since it was quite late for lunch -there was only one person dining. I turn toward the right to see a fully stocked bar with a team member available to take my order. The menu is really quite extensive and focuses on delicious barbecue meats. Having said that, I have to give huge kudos to the sides too!!!! everything we had was absolutely delicious and scratch made. My favorite ended up being the sliced brisket ... it was literally melt in your mouth tender. Absolutely superb. The pulled pork was also very good. I had gotten sauces on the side but honestly the meat was just so good that I couldn't bear to put any sauces on it!! The potato salad and the coleslaw were also made from scratch. They reminded me of my mom's-and that's about the highest recommendation I can offer!! The service was great. I was invited to sit at the bar even though I wasn't drinking to wait for my order. It was a very comfortable environment. There were a couple of patrons that came in to pick up orders while I was there. The entire area smelled of delicious BBQ Meats. I don't know what else is in Colorado City but I do know I'm gonna have to return here. I am going to check to see if it's possible to do mail order and get it delivered on ice. If you're within 50 miles I wouldn't hesitate to take a side trip and drop in. Be sure to check out the hours they are available. I wish I had met the person doing all this barbecuing and cooking. Waitress total worthless she put order in wrong. Then we asked for mustard which is not on tables took over 10 minutes to get it! The buns were soggy which made the sandwich just gross! Then took over 20 minutes for her to bring the bill! And they were not busy wonder why! read more

Excellent brisket. Fried Brussels were outstanding. Homemade pickles. Soft warm rolls. My wife lived the Irish "nachos" which were fries smothered in pulled pork, beans, cheese and chilis. Did take out and had a drink while waiting. Was met right away and got our drinks and to go order in. It was Happy Hour so drinks were $1 off. The bbq plate was ordered and brisket and pulled pork were excellent as was the spicy sauce and coleslaw. Also ordered smoked turkey which was also good. Tried the Jack Burton Special and it was amazing! Some people might consider $15 for a sandwich expensive, but stacked with pulled pork, bacon and smoked sausage, it seemed like a bargain. Their fries were also of outstanding quality and quite tasty. There is a casual bar atmosphere which is exactly what you would expect from the name. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and taken care of quickly. This was around 2 PM so business was a little slow, but I would imagine closer to lunch or dinner the place gets hopping. Seemed like a good place to catch a football or baseball game or knock back a few beers with friends. read more

Excellent place to visit. Unfortunately we stopped there while traveling and my cat escaped. One employee helped us look because we were still looking after closing time. A month later I contacted the bar asking if I could come back and hang out in the parking lot for the night in hopes of finding her. They graciously agreed. The staff there was amazing. They recently catered our daughter's wedding reception and all of the guests were raving about the food. Tracy was very helpful in arranging the ins and outs of the catering. We went at lunchtime and about four tables came in in under 10 minutes and the waitress did an excellent OB of taking care of all six of her tables, tending the bar, bussing her own tables...etc...I'd highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner and is only slightly south of Pueblo proper. read more

I've grown up in Colorado City/Rye area since I was a kid and rarely have we had local establishments even manage to stick around yet to have awesome bbq AND stick around....yay!!! The meat selection here is amazing! The portions are nice and big...we tend to have left over...not that they last very long! The brisket is my favorite. After a long day working on the house or yard we usually put in a to go order. The kids loved the smoked chicken the best and my husband like the sausage links. This was our first time here and we loved it! My partner, son, infant, and mom came with me. The atmosphere is very welcoming, small but cozy. They have 3 large tvs. Okay, food. Omg it was delicious. I got the grapefruit mimosa and it hit the spot. For appetizers we got the chili cheese fries and Brussels sprouts, so good and a good amount too. I got the brisket sandwich with a side of fried okra. My partner got the 2 piece meat (brisket, pulled pork) with chili beans, Cole slaw and a biscuit. My mom got the ribs, she was not used to seeing red meat, but the waiter explained it was from it being smoked, she still liked it. She had it with a side of corn on the cob. My son was a fan of the chicken finger--they were hard, but soft in the inside but he enjoyed their fries more. They took off the chicken fingers. We also had a peach cobbler and it was so good. We stopped here to get some take out while passing through the area. The brisket and pulled pork/cold slaw were delicious. The meat was flavorful, tender, juicy. A nice smoke taste. Also tried the hot links and those were just ok. They were a bit dry and tough skin. The okra did not travel well. The breading was a bit soggy.
