The coleslaw is definitely Home The coleslaw is definitely Home-made. If you enjoy the mayonnaise style, you will love it.

8900 S Interstate 25 Exit 74, Colorado City, CO . Tel. 719-676-2440 Hours: Monday - Thursday & Sunday 11 am - 8 pm. Friday & Saturday 11 am - 9 ... I still can't believe that this was the very best BBQ that I have ever eaten. Upon walking- in since it was quite late for lunch -there was only one person dining. I turn toward the right to see a fully stocked bar with a team member available to take my order. The menu is really quite extensive and focuses on delicious barbecue meats. Having said that, I have to give huge kudos to the sides too!!!! everything we had was absolutely delicious and scratch made. My favorite ended up being the sliced brisket ... it was literally melt in your mouth tender. Absolutely superb. The pulled pork was also very good. I had gotten sauces on the side but honestly the meat was just so good that I couldn't bear to put any sauces on it!! The potato salad and the coleslaw were also made from scratch. They reminded me of my mom's-and that's about the highest recommendation I can offer!! The service was great. I was invited to sit at the bar even though I wasn't drinking to wait for my order. It was a very comfortable environment. There were a couple of patrons that came in to pick up orders while I was there. The entire area smelled of delicious BBQ Meats. I don't know what else is in Colorado City but I do know I'm gonna have to return here. I am going to check to see if it's possible to do mail order and get it delivered on ice. If you're within 50 miles I wouldn't hesitate to take a side trip and drop in. Be sure to check out the hours they are available. I wish I had met the person doing all this barbecuing and cooking. I would've loved to have thanked them in person!!!

    Jack Burton Special with Fries

Tried the Jack Burton Special and it was amazing! Some people might consider $15 for a sandwich expensive, but stacked with pulled pork, bacon and smoked sausage, it seemed like a bargain. Their fries were also of outstanding quality and quite tasty. There is a casual bar atmosphere which is exactly what you would expect from the name. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and taken care of quickly. This was around 2 PM so business was a little slow, but I would imagine closer to lunch or dinner the place gets hopping. Seemed like a good place to catch a football or baseball game or knock back a few beers with friends.

Excellent place to visit. Unfortunately we stopped there while traveling and my cat escaped. One employee helped us look because we were still looking after closing time. A month later I contacted the bar asking if I could come back and hang out in the parking lot for the night in hopes of finding her. They graciously agreed. The staff there was amazing. Sadly I have been unable to locate her. If anyone knows anything it would be greatly appreciated. Her name is Piper and has been missing since May. My number is (607) 368-7765.

I chose the smoked half rack ribs and it was super tough and not much flavor. Should of held out and stopped by Rudy's in colorado springs.

I have drove by this place probably 100 xs and usually I hold out for Rudy's in colorado springs. But I figured I would give it a try. Half rack smoked ribs was super tough and no flavor. Tried to eat it... see photo but pushed it aside. Waste of 16 dollars.

This place is awesome. Easy access from I25. The prices are good and the food is incredible. We stop here every time we're going to or from Denver.

Took a long time to get chips and salsa, and the salsa was awful. Maybe the need more than one person serving the whole place?

The food was okay, it was really expensive! The service was terrible, took over 10 mins to get seating and food took forever to come out.

Really good bbq - sometimes the music is too loud but I'm old and it's a bar so I shouldn't complain.

It looks like you're driving into a tiny RV park behind a large white wall, and if I hadn't read the reviews beforehand, I probably would have kept driving. I'm so glad we didn't. The owners were some of the kindest, most welcoming people we've met on our 10 day road trip. The restaurant was spotless--honestly cleaner than many restaurants we've eaten at--and even the large restroom was exceptionally clean. We ordered the burgers and the fresh-cut, house-made fries, and both were fantastic. The burger was one of the best we had on our entire Colorado/New Mexico road trip, and I wish we had ordered more fries! As parents traveling with two young daughters, we especially appreciated how family-friendly they were. They had a huge basket of crayons and coloring books that immediately kept our girls entertained, which was such a thoughtful touch after a long day in the car. If you're driving between Colorado and Amarillo, this place is 100% worth the stop. Trust the reviews, ignore the outside appearance, and stop for a burger and fries. We'll absolutely be back on our next road trip.

Everyone inside is very kind and hospitable. I wish I took a photo of my food before I started eating! My boyfriend got a plain burger with fries and enjoyed his food very much as well. The restaurant is also very peaceful and cozy. Please do not hesitate to stop by and get your fill of delicious home cooked food. We also bought a salsa to go!

BBQ is one of those things, you like what you like so if a place has their own style it might not mesh with your taste buds. I had the pork plate with baked beans and steak fries (comes with toast too). They put the bbq sauce on in the kitchen, no sauces on the tables - so you get what you get. This is probably my biggest gripe. I like variety with sauces and especially sweet/hot sauces. This was a run of the mill regular BBQ sauce. But the pork was nicely smoked and you get a decent portion. Maybe it was on the menu and I missed it, but I wished it was shredded and not sliced. The steak fries were different. Basically a potato quartered with a bit of seasoning and deep fried. Totally not what I expected, but they were good (I would have loved the seasoning kicked up a bit). The beans were too oniony for me - and that is saying something because I like onions (I think they use green onions and it was a texture thing too). Toast was great. It was an a-OK meal. I didn't NOT like anything, but I didn't love anything either. It was a pleasant friendly meal. Go try it and see if you like it! BBQ tastes vary.
