Stopped in Walsenburg this past weekend to check out Gub Gub's. The Chile Burger pizza was delicious as was the garlic cheese bread. Definitely a great pizza worth having again and a menu with more intriguing options. It is a counter-service restaurant so no actual waiter or waitress but the staff is friendly and efficient. When we did need anything (to-go box) it was easy to ask for help and even with no wait staff we were checked on twice. The decor is very cool with the old gas station theme and a retro vibe. I do not get to Walsenburg often but may have to make a trip over just to stop by from time to time. read more

Great location in Walsenburg. The restaurant is beautifully curated. The owners really leaned into the 50s garage decor but it's done so well you feel like you've stepped into a magazine. The smell of fresh dough hits you before you even open the door. Once inside you're greeted by a smiling face from a welcoming counter attendant. The tap list is a little thin but they have a moderate selection of canned beers. Employees were very polite. We had a supreme pizza and it was pretty good. Super friendly, attentive staff make ordering easy and they're quick to help with any request. Started with the gubberpuffs, which were slathered in delicious garlic butter and served with a tasty side of marinara. Opted for the supreme pizza, subbing in jalapeños for the olives, and it was equally delicious. The place itself is clearly an old gas station of garage and is decked out with all sorts of awesome knickknacks. I have driven through Walsenburg countless times and never even thought to stop for food. But I will be going back to Walsenburg just to eat here and will be stopping next time I'm passing through on my way to Denver. The food was really fresh and flavorful. Really good crust and the pepperonis are amazing. The soft serve is on the sweeter side with like a marshmallowy taste. The syrups for the milkshakes are all made in house and the raspberry was great! The wings were alright, very meaty and saucy, but I prefer mine crispier. Everyone was very friendly and super helpful. The dining area is a bit cramped indoors but lots of outdoor seating in the courtyard area. Not only was the food delicious, the atmosphere was so fun. Unfortunately, we had our two very small children with us and a major thunderstorm was coming in, the owner's daughter graciously said she would have her father deliver our pizzas to our little hotel room down the street. This man brought our pizzas in a TORRENTIAL downpour. That level of customer service is just not found outside of a town like this, a town like the one I grew up in, and I missed that kindness.
