I lent my lawnmower for awhile to a friend and upon getting it back. I couldn't get the darn thing running. After a quick analysis. Was heading out for a camping trip and needed to use my generator. It had been sitting for over 2 years... with gas in it. Surprise, it wouldn't start. Found him on yelp after the reviews. Called him on a Sunday and he said bring it over. He found the carburetor was rusted and had it fixed in an hour. Saving the camping trip. He had me start it while I was with him, I gently pulled the cord and it started right up! He was VERY nice, hard working and very fair price. I've seen George about 3-4 times already. George is an honest man and is great at what he does. He is very knowledgeable and always gives tips to keep your lawn mower going. My most recent visit I called George to let him know I'd be stopping by. My lawn mower would start but it wasn't full power as it should. After taking a look at it, George said it was leaking oil. He could clean it up but eventually it was going to break down and didn't want to take our money. He offered an exact replica he had for sale for $100. I trust George enough to know it was in good condition. It powered up and sounded great. It beat having to buy a brand new lawn mower after having ours for about 7-8 years. Hoping with George's tips and oil changes we can keep this one for another 5 years. They don't make things like they use to unfortunately but it's great to have someone knowledgeable available without feeling like you're being taken advantage of. George is the man! He truly delivered "express" service on my lawnmower today. I had started my morning all set to mow my lawns and the mower wouldn't stay running. Tried a gas additive and quick start spray but they didn't help. Called George and he told me to bring the mower right over. As soon as I arrived at his home he started the work and assured me it would be all taken care of within a half hour. I got to sit and watch as he sharpened the blade, and removed and cleaned the carburetor which had a clogged jet. He also cleaned the spark plug, blew out the debris from inside the motor area, added clean gas and refilled the oil. The mower started right up and runs like a champ. I have had my mower, which I bought from this man, back 4 times for the same reason. First time he took a hammer and beat on the carb a couple times and said it was fixed. Not. The mower runs for 10 minutes or so then dies. He tells me it is the heat and I should only mow in the morning or late afternoon. I told him that if it isn't fixed this time I will bring it back and he can sell to some other unsuspecting person. He told me that I can't buy a new one because it is illegal to sell new gas powered mowers in Calif. Everything that has been done by him has been juryrigged. read more

I took my craftsman lawn that was smoking but was running strong but for short periods. he said my rings were shot and needed a new engine. He said he would take mine off my hands for free and use it for parts. He said he had one for $80 , I said no thanks and remembered the lawn mower shop in Lakeside .Chris looked at it for two minutes, did not even start it and said my crankcase was flooded with oil and needed a tune up.Got it back today, cost $120. George is one very honest and FAIR guy. His work is prompt. Price is a tad high, but equal to his skills. We even purchased a used weed trimmer from him (30 day warranty) and in the first use, the trimmer head came loose. We took it back and he called same day to say it was fixed. With due respect, we asked for a refund as we were concerned that the issue may happen again. WITH NO OBJECTION, he paid us the full refund. RARE in these times.
