My brother and I popped in to George's after a long day of disc golf. We arrived just before closing and I fully expected the staff to be ready to leave and the food to be what they were using up before closing for the night. I was completely wrong. The kind man at the counter provided us with his recommendations and told us to stay as long as we needed. We found a seat and waited patiently. This place is clean and decorated nicely. A casual environment. The food was very fresh and it was the best gyro I've ever had hands down. The fries were fresh and amazing also. I admit I did not eat many of the fries because the gyro was enormous and delicious. We went with the picado gyro. Simply delicious. A kick of heat with the jalapeño, the peppers and onions were fresh and the thin sliced melt in your mouth gyro meat piled high. The tzatziki sauce was flavorful and fresh made. What can I say. It was the best gyro I've ever had. The menu is great and I'm tempted to try something else next time as everything looked delicious. We had just arrived to the area and we were looking for a quick, tasty, good dinner. We love non-chain restaurants so this one looked promising. We also read the reviews and thought we would take a chance. When we walked in you could see/feel the homey atmosphere. Good vibes. Hubby and I both ordered the gyro plate with a Greek salad. The portions were huge! The salad was chopped lettuce with lots of veggies, feta, and 2 pitted olives. I thought it was very tasty. The gyro was just okay...Growing up with many Greeks I was used to a more flavorful meat. There was plenty of it and the pita was soft and large. Unfortunately, within an hour of getting back to our overnight spot I became very sick. I spent time in the bathroom (won't go into the details but pretty sure you get "it"). Hidden behind Starbucks, this place is a gem. The chicken pita was delicious. It had lots of chicken meat and the balsamic was perfect sauce. The gyro stir-fry was so fresh and yummy. It saddens me to say this because George's has been a favorite of mine, but my recent pickup order missed the mark. Two chicken pita sandwiches with a side of yellow rice came to $30, which felt a little pricey, I get it inflation but the real issue was the food and service. The chicken pitas were just ok, lacking the flavor I've come to expect. On top of that, the person at the counter seemed pretty disengaged there was no usual friendly interaction. I don't live anywhere near this part of town, so I wasn't sure I'd ever try it but something brought me over this way so my son and I gave it a shot. We walked into a small cozy restaurant, with a large digital menu. They also have handheld menus at the register, and it is HUGE. There are so many selections which can make it hard if haven't been here before. I highly recommend looking at their menu online prior to your arrival. Since we are regulars at Mediterranean restaurants, we usually get a platter and a side of Greek fries. Their platter offers, protein of your choice, rice or fries, two pitas, two sides of tzatziki, and a Greek or Caesar salad. Like most platters we have had this one did not come with hummus. I wish it had but it's so much food already we likely would haven't eaten all of it. We ordered the platter with steak and chicken, Greek fries and Caesar salad. We ordered it to go but planned to eat it there but figured we would have leftovers. It came out pretty quickly and as expected it was a lot of food! The guy that brought it to us asked if we wanted plates and checked in with us later to see how it was. The food was fantastic! My son said the steak was the best he has ever had. The chicken was juicy and flavor too! The Greek fries were bomb! They were topped with feta and we think a sauce but couldn't determine if it was that or the juices from the meat, either way it was SO good! The pita was thick and soft but neither of us at it unfortunately. We chowed down the protein and fries first and had no room for the pita or salad. I had planned to take the salad home and eat it later but the appointment we had after lunch went long and my salad was no good after sitting in the hot car too long. Bummer! I am sure it was amazing too! Something else to point out, this place is CLEAN! Super clean! Clean bathrooms (which dirty bathrooms at a restaurant is a pet peeve of mine and not okay in my book). The gentleman at the register that helped us went around wiping tables which was nice to see because all too often at fast casual restaurants you find yourself at dirty tables. Though I would love to come back here I don't see it happening often since I don't live out this way however my son will be in this area frequently for his Marine Corp pre boot camp conditioning, so he said he sees himself and his friends hitting this place a lot. read more

Theo's pasta was great, thin spaghetti pasta with chunks of mozzarella which melts with the heat from the pasta (AWESOME!) the pesto was on point with just the right amount (see below for secret menu). Very good. I've gotten most of the pastas and the Greek gyro and phenomenal. The pastas are all good. I usually get the vodka pasta with breaded chicken. One person in my party placed an order online and I placed an order in person, both super quick and easy! We were greeted when we walked in and the employees were nice and helpful. I have responded to your message, improving would mean staff wearing hair nets so that hair doesn't get into the food. Wow, it is like stepping back into a typical gyro place in Athens! And the smells emanating from the kitchen are enough to make you want to order everything on the menu! The spot is small but with plenty of seats and even a bar stool area and outside seating. They have a menu along the wall with a ton of options, and the host was also great about giving me some good selections. You order at the counter and they bring it to the table so very fast casual. My friends had never had Greek food before so they tried a Greek salad with chicken and fettuccine with chicken. I had the traditional gyro which comes either a side of either fries or salad. I'm no expert by any means, however, I have tasted and consumed MANY falafel in my 42 years on this great earth and I can confidently say, these were the best I've ever had! Crunchy outside; soft, dense delicious inside. They were perfectly seasoned. The spices were pronounced yet not over powering and lingering. The Gyro was soft, flavorful and delicious, getting better as I took each bite. Omg, and can we talk about the Tzatziki?? Thick, yet creamy. Smooth yet a bit of chunks! Flavor, out of this world!! 100%, 10 out of 10 exactly how it should be. And they give you 2! It's like they already know you're going to druel while eating it and most definitely want more. I've been to places and asked for more sauce to help wash down the meal. If this wasn't a togo order I would have asked to purchase a gallon just so I could drink it. OK, maybe not drink it, however I guarantee I have numerous items in my fridge I could put it on! All in all, I can't say enough great things about this place. I can't wait to go back and dine in. Talk about a hole-in-the-wall gem, this place is tucked in the corner of a small strip center between FedEx & Pizza Hut. I saw it a few weeks ago and just today gave it a try. I am sad it took me this long. The menu is expansive. My wife and I tried a Reuben sandwich with fries and chicken parmigiana and pasta dinner. We also had to try the gyro meat, asking for a side of same. We got a large plate full of deliciousness. The food was amazingly delicious, priced well with generous portions. Well, not as good this time. Got chicken alfredo. It was pretty good at first but they apparently didn't strain the water well enough so after I stirred it up, it got really runny and watered down so the sauce lost its flavor. The chicken had a nice grill flavor to it though. read more
